I was getting a bit 'hung up' on the florals I had been working on, so decided to put them to one side for now, and just have some fun...
Like many artists, I have tubes & tubes of paint, but tend to stick to a favourite few. In an effort to widen my colour palette, I thought I would choose three colours at random, and using the taped-off squares exercise, experiment a little.
The end results may not be much, but it reminded me of the properties of the paint, and that, brighter, richer colours can be used, even if in moderation!
I used:
Seawhite of Brighton cartridge paper
Artway calligraphy brush
Cotman watercolour brush
Sennelier white oil pastel
Daniel Smith Lunar Red Rock watercolour
Schminke Horadam Aquarelle Desert Grey watercolour
L'Acquerelle Olive Green watercolour
Daler Rowney FW Sepia Acrylic ink
Winsor & Newton Granulation fluid
