She's right. I'm a sentimental mom. I've started preserving my kid's broken teeth. I tried to keep his cut off umbilical cord but it shriveled to s point where we had to throw it since it looked off. This line is wonderful for empaths who hold sentimental values near to the heart.

Hindus are the only people who cremate their dead in the world. It is normal for those who bury their dead to be obsessed about preserving the body because their religions are heavily focused on resurrection of the body at the time of the last judgement & believe that one can't experience eternal pleasure in heaven if the body isn't preserved. This is how the body-centric approach amongst these cultures have lead to rise of materialism. Hence such jewelry goes against Hindu cultural & spiritual ethos and its buyers are more likely to be non-Hindus or those ultra-rich Yankeephiles of Lutyens' Delhi & South Bombay who have lost all connections with their Hindu roots.

In US, you will see many families having the ash of their loved ones mixed with Seeds. In southern Ameircan & Tribal cultures, using bones as jewellery was also a tradition. DNA preserving is almost quite normal.

That is not why India is a developing country. There are much more to that. But on this matter, this is some sort of an art form. From an investor's point of view this won't be a business that can take off which is what the sharks want, to make money. And a lot people including myself find it utterly disgusting. So you can't blame them.

I think it's very brave of her to break all stereotypes and bring such a concept...lanugo hair ,umbilical cord,placenta ..breast milk all have been used to make jewellery in western countries..I myself wud like to preserve them ...being a doctor i don't think there was any need to make such faces abt the concept.. I personally feel that the woman is sorted,she brought the concept which I feel is eerie but you never know what a mom,a married couple wants to feel by preserving this.Its sentimental,new & she is making it in gold and silver which makes it profitable as well as a investment too for the people buying it.Also the fact that it could be a brand in future bcoz of first moved advantage.Its definately profitable & I feel she would expand good in the coming year.

Concept is good but i don't think it will work in India. As someone who is listening that body is nashwar since birth and no need to attach with material things too much.
