Well, I'm grateful for caring doctors like him and all doctors who take the time to properly diagnose issues then go above and beyond to really hear the patient as a human being, not just another patient. He had what I call.... patience for patients!!! Thank you for this elaborately educational video. I will be sure to take it to my next doctor's visit to compound the interest. My ❤ is thankful.

@@drrajsree For a layman the CDC page "MTHFR Gene, Folic Acid, and Preventing Neural Tube Defects" seems to contradict with the info in this video: "5 things to know about the MTHFR C677T variant and folic acid People with MTHFR C677T variants can process all types of folate, including folic acid. Folate is a general term for many different types of vitamin B9. Folate includes naturally occurring folates in foods, such as leafy green vegetables, citrus fruits, and beans, and several types of folate in dietary supplements, such as folic acid and 5-methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF). The MTHFR C677T variant affects how your body processes folate. You might have read or heard that folic acid is not safe if you have one or two copies of the MTHFR C677T variant. This is not true. Even if you have one or two copies of the MTHFR C677T variant, your body can safely and effectively process all different types of folate, including folic acid." Can you clarify on the significance on the different types of folate, is there some other references on the topic you could link?

You have helped put my fears at ease. I first learned that I have the MTHFR mutation almost two years ago. Homozygous and had my son tested with the same. The dietitian who gave me my results scared me to death!! She said “YOU DO NOT METHYLATE!” I obviously have it pretty bad and I’ve been feeling real bad lately. But I’ve gotten back on all the supplements I was given by that clinic. It’s very expensive but well worth it to know this is real. You definitely explained it better and I’m slowly learning and understanding more about it. Thank you so much! 😊

What's even more mindblowing is that because MTHFR can reduce B12 B9 absorption, ADHD symptoms can appear from lack of B12 and B9 - BECAUSE the vitamins are not giving you that dopamine / serotonin gain, THEREFORE is ADHD a vitamin absorption deficiency because of MTHFR?

Wonderful video, but I want to point out one consideration to keep in mind. On top of the MTHFR and MTRR genes, another one to keep an eye out for is COMT - which complicates the process a bit if you have. COMT, like MTHFR, has numerous functions I won't go into; but relavent to this video & MTHFR positive individuals is it affects the 'treatment plan' since Methylcobalamin isn't recommended (and methyl-donors in general for that matter) In terms of vitamin b12, hydroxocobalamin is generally seen as the best / most accepted form for individuals with COMT; or COMT + MTHFR. The issue is its not super bio-available in oral form, so you might have to speak with a health care provider about higher doses; sublingual doses; or injections Alternatively adenosylcobalamin also supposedly works, but my knowledge is thin on that specific varient. And then in terms of what form of B9 / folate to take, I'd also recommend speaking with a HCP since it complicated the process, depending on what combination of genes you are (homo vs hetero) and your individual response. Some do fine with methylfolate, some require lower doses, some require alternative forms. I'm not your HCP so I won't be making any recommendations on that.

Four years ago I had blood work done for MTHFR because my Mom said she had it. I’m a 31 year old female and want to have kids soon, so I’m taking this seriously. I have suffered from migraines (magnesium helped cure those), anxiety, depression, and low energy on and off for years. Now I know I am MTHFR C677T heterozygous and currently take the Methylfolate, however my doctor wants me to go to a Vascular Specialist to make sure the supplements I’m taking work in conjunction with my hormonal BC before I stop taking BC and start trying for children. Do you know if a Vascular Specialist is the right person to help with MTHFR? Seems like most doctors I mention this to are unaware.

Hi, I recently completed a Genomind Pharmacogentic Report (24 Gene) and one of the many defect genes I have was the C677T: C/T. My doctor recommended taking L-Methlyfolic and and exercising since antidepressants don’t work for me. The L-Metyfolic worked right away (next day) but only worked great for about a week. I don’t feel my doctor knows anything about the mthfr, so it leaves me doing my own research. Do you feel having my homocysteine levels checked it will give me an idea on why the folic stopped working? And if my homocysteine is very high, will the Methyl CPG, be a good option? When the Methlyfolic worked for me, I felt so normal for the first time I can remember. I really want that feeling back. I felt happy and very sharp for the first time ever. Thanks you.

I take natural mineral drops (just a little in water sipped thru day) , grounding/earthing , saying grattitude orayers in the morning sun . I take methyl B-12 sublingual and pull weeds for an hour and sweat . I drink 2 caps of activated charcoal mixed in water right before bed - and just making these changes i feel no depression , less anxiety more hope . I also do NOT eat sugar - trying to stay clear of refined foods . I love how you explane in layman language that we all can understand - thx again - a new subscriber for life ! Bless you . If you have an MTHFR snp chances are you’ll have an eNOS snp. So you’ll struggle to make Nitric Oxide via the arginine pathways. This means you’ll have to source NO from nitrates to nitrates and the gut and oral biome You’ll find this in leafy greens. This will help with vasodilation, immune health and neurotransmitters production. You’ll feel good. There are oral nitric oxide testing strips for saliva testing available on line. It’s really helped me.

I had 3 strokes back to back b4 I found out. I'm only 41 years old. This has all been so scary. And none of the doctors that I've been referred to have a clue about this gene mutation. They just want to push stroke protocol medications on me. Cholesterol meds/ even though I have low Cholesterol. Blod thinners even though no blood flies were found and when my hematologist did blood clot tests and my blood took longer to clot then the average range. None of it made sense to me so I refused their medications and they have been giving me heck for it. So grateful to have came across this video. 🙌 Finally some answers of things I can take that will help and make sense. Thank you 🫶

I know it's a long shot to ask and know you're probably busy. But do you recommend natural sources of b12 from food as well as supplements? Like with folate. Only I eat a plant based diet and have been worrying and been thinking of adding egg and salmon back into my diet. Issue is that I haven't been tested yet but my family and I have many of the symptoms and now nephews and nieces are suffering too. Depression, anxiety, ocd, adhd, autism, hypermobility which could also be related, which effects circulation and other collagen related tissues and not just joints.
