Been using my quintet for several days, and I think you described it very accurately. The way it presents your music as whole is really well done, bass is there but not exactly in huge quantities and on some tracks a little recessed. The treble/upper mids can be tamed by using the right tips, and the quintet takes every tip i throw at it perfectly, so im sure theres something for everyone. Im personally using it with moondrop spring tips at the moment.

I'm really enjoying the Quintet and I agree with your review. It is very clear, clean, detailed, exciting, and smooth. Technicalities are amazing for a roughly 200 dollar set. Like you said, it's very resolving and has great instrument separation, imaging, and soundstage. The Quintet has just enough bass for pop/R&B/rap tracks. It's not sibilant unless you turn up the volume too much and listen to sibilant tracks. I can't believe Kiwi Ears was able to make such a great-sounding IEM and charge such a low, reasonable price for all of the tech and drivers they stuffed into this thing. I actually like the stock cable. It's not the best, but it's better than a lot of stock cables around this price. It's definitely an upgraded cable compared to what Kiwi Ears usually includes with their IEMs (I don't have either Orchestras). The braiding not being very tight is my only complaint with the stock cable.

I'm surprised myself with how Kiwi Ears is putting the price on their IEMs and it's making them stand out for that reason along with how they're arranging their drivers into an IEM. Excited to hear more from Kiwi Ears and hope they don't go down the route of simply releasing IEMs without maintaining their quality. Crossing fingers
Nice review again😊 For someone like me, who has older ears and a limited budget, I'm really considering the Dolce! But it's wonderful that Kiwi Ears gives their fan base options at both ends of the low to medium budget range pricewise🙂

I have the Kiwi Ears Orchestra Lite and I absolutely love them. With 8 BA's per side, it has wonderful coherency and lots of detail, clarity and resolution with just enough warmth and lushness to keep me engaged for hours. However, I am curious about the Quintet and how coherent they sound. I'm sure it's perfection but I love my Lites too much to upgrade. But, as it is with this hobby, curiosity can get the best of you, if you know what I mean! $$$$

Hi! How would you compare this with the raptgo hook-x? The Hook-X's Piezo BCD implementation was magical for me - weird expansive effect on sound stage and bass but the mid frequencies could be a/little higher resolution (still a joy for mellow listening).
Oh it's been a while since I've listened on the Raptgo Hook X but i'll have a listen between them when i get a chance and share my thoughts then, either in a short form video or comment
As a former variations owner, be wary of the very thin presentation of the low mids/upper bass. It sucks the life out of synthesizers and bass guitars in that region.
I agree with the 2 replies on your query, they're both quite lean andhas a clean midrange presentation but the quintet has more "body" to the notes compared to the variations and for about 2.5 times cheaper, the quintet would be the easier pick at least for me
Nahh.. if you have doubts about Variations, don't go down, because you will find other problems. Keep saving and go for Oracle OG, EJ07M or Mangird Top. You will be happy with any of them.
