A drive and walk to Mont-Saint-Michel

‪@thereluctantoutdoorsman‬ My wife Angela and I drive through miserable weather conditions to reach Mont-Saint-Michel. As we arrive the sun comes out! We walk the mile, or so, out to this beautiful Norman jewel, which looks fabulous as we approach on foot. We have a brief look around the very crowded, narrow streets before the weather changes for the worse and we decide to head home.

I don’t blame you not cutting it short. I remember when we visited some 30 years ago there were just too many people to have any enjoyment with narrow streets. We were staying in Concale for a couple of nights and I remember eating lots of oysters and had the most fantastic fish soap the best I’ve ever had anywhere. After saying that it’s a must visit if you are in the area, I hope you both didn’t get too wet. Cheers

Hi Nic, I hope you and your wife are well. Concale is great huh? We have also stayed there on a couple of occasions and binged on seafood including our daughter (who was about 9 at the time) eating a dozen and a half oysters during one dinner! They're not my cup of tea!🤢 We were very lucky the day of the video and just made it back to the car before the heavens opened again! 👍🏻

PS....i enjoyed a dinner of Jersey Royals yesterday and again tonight fresh from Tescos.... But will certainly look forward to them fresh from the field next time I'm over again Soon.. Very soon ☘️

I really enjoyed that. I'd imagine on a sunny day walking the walls would be hot and exhausting . If you do return look out for the tiny lizards inside the cracks of the walls. Looking forward now to your next adventure ☘️

Hiya Tom 👍Well I'm watching this with the very first chance to eat Jersey Royal Potatoes and with recent events glad I made it through to experience these lovely nutty tasting pots.Flew over this many times on route to Canary Isles with the flight path also going over Guernsey and Jersey, I dont think its going to be on my bucket list as the walk from car park to it seems a very long long walk, I would get there but I would probably have to stay the night to recover😀😀.Did you film this on your recent trip to St.Malo ? At least the weather was kind enough to film after that long walk which showed what a very interesting place it is ,and what a very nice ending with Angie and yourself and the background, looked like a couple on their second honeymoon😊😊Weather has improved considerably here sunny and warm but the golf can wait until I get the clearance from Doctor . Hi Lloyd, you enjoy those Royals mate!🥔🥔🥔 To be fair.......it was quite a long walk out to Mont-Saint-Michel and inside was very narrow and far too crowded. Having said that........it is such a beautiful place and seeing it draw nearer and nearer made the trip worthwhile! I filmed it on that same trip to France a month, or so, ago. I definitely need more practise at selfie taking though.........the other couple had their tripod set up and had obviously done that sort of thing before! Also it would have been easier if Mont-Saint-Michel hadn't been moving about so much! 😉😁😁 The weather has been much better here also over the last couple of days, so I've been able to film some nice Jersey content with my main man.....Paddy. Do you play golf Lloyd? They told me no golf for six weeks but I played after 5 and started par, birdie! It all went down hill from there! 😁😁😁😁
