I'll be honest: I absolutely loved this band's sound. Incredible !!! Obviously they were never going to blow up and become wildly successful sounding like that, but that's fine, it's for the segment who's into it. They know what they're there to do, and they do it really well. And yeah it has a very punk-metal vibe for sure, especially with the crowd interaction and everything , and the jumping up and down while playing I was SHOCKED Miyako was in this though I always figured she had just her classical training background before Lovebites. Blows my mind, but it's good to know she and Midori both come from actually harder edged groups than Lovebites, so they are capable of pushing things as time progresses (that's something I'd like Lovebites to do, evolve into a somewhat more modern metal sound, I worry a bit they come off as a glorified tribute band at times to Iron Maiden and early Metallica). Of course whether or not Asami would be remotely willing to go along I don't know. We need to get Asami to just be a bit more aggressive and intense with her vocalizing and not always just so floaty and operatic all the time. Fuki from Unlucky Morpheus has a similar style to Asami but with Fuki her lyrics are incredibly dark , plus she headbangs frequently in performances, so that helps balance it out. Also Fuki has a bit more dramatic sounding vocalization while with Asami, you get the impression she's half gospel singer still
I love the many different musical backgrounds that Miho, Haruna, Miyako, Midori and Asami bring into Lovebites. It is truly funny to see how calm and and sophisticated Miyako seems on stage nowadays if you know her Hardcore roots. to my ear it is inaudible metal. No beauty either in the singing or in the composition. She did well to leave this group. The musical beauty of Lovebites is light years away from what this band offers. I am not ecstatic in anything even if Miyako is in it.
uverworld and the vamps are asami's old bands. can't seem to find footage of her then. still glad miyako moved on to a band with outstanding vocals. not a big fan of guttural screams
