He's talking literal. Prostate cancer treatment often includes shutting down testosterone production (basically chemical castration). The side effect list of that treatment is longer than you think, ED and lack of drive (not only sex drive, drive in general) to start with.

My dad was given a year to live with lung cancer at the age of 62 and given a year to live, that was 13 months ago and he's still with us and going strong. I was a bit scared to watch this video but I'm glad I did. It makes me realize that there are people all around me who might be going through utterly horrible things and yet we all keep moving forward.
@UMBR.
@UMBR. Год назад
Been through similar. I have read many stories of people with advanced/stage 3 and 4 lung cancers and yet have lived for 10, 20, 30+ plus years. Obviously not everyone does. And statistics never look good for any type of cancer which is why it is wise to not go searching on the Internet. It will only scare you and you don't need to be dealing with that. But, as doctors say, statistics are just numbers. They tell a tiny part of the story and they don't take into account individual stories, deviations from the statistics. Besides, statistics are also out of date by the time they are published. There literally is reason to have hope.

He said “to be given another 2 years at my age is a blessing and I’m happy with that”. I truly hope i have more time with him, but as he says he’s had his life and accepts the time he has been given. @M B Yes. In the UK palliative care is changing its thinking to the emphasis on living rather than dying. Dying offers the impression that you are awaiting for this event to happen and nothing else matters. There is however a life to experience inbetween that, as indeed what we have been doing since birth, so no change there. So just carry on living until it ends one day. I just feel that you are dying only when youve been told that.

*Thank you Kev!* My father died of Lung Cancer at 52. I was 26. He was extremely stoic during his 4 year battle (he was given 4 months), and the only time he complained was when he was in pain ("I feel like a steel rod is being shoved through my chest"), and needed his meds, inhaler, more oxygen, etc. He remained positive and never told me what he was thinking. *(I never realized he had thoughts like this)* The only thing he shared was the morning he died. I was feeding him breakfast. Oh gawd.. I do not know if I have ever shared this. I asked him, "Are you scared?". He paused, took my hand, looked me straight in the eyes, and with one word, "Yes." He then had me leave. After 4 years of being his 24 hour nurse, daughter, best friend, only child of a single father, and caregiver; he did not want me to see him die. *Oh how angry I was.* Took me 14 years to realize it was his final gift to me. oh dad... 2/15/1953 to 2/13/2006 yup.. 2 days before his 53rd birthday.

She died in Poland and hospital staff (most of them) were awful. Not interested in helping her or us. The last week of her life while being in palliative care unit they were giving her tablets even though she couldn’t swallow any more. I don’t even know if she was getting painkillers any other way. She never complained about the pain. And she only broke down once 😭. They treated her as if she was invisible😢. Any time i wanted to argue with them or complain she would stop me saying “you can go home but I’m stuck here with them and it would only make things worse”. I still get emotional thinking about the way she was treated there. I miss her sooooooo much 😭😢😭😭😭

Depression is a biological disorder, though. Changing your perspective may help you tolerate it a different way but it's still a condition with biological roots. Ive just come across your vid, whilst on a day off...and it brought me to tears. I'm 66, still in full-time employment (though under notice of redundancy from Sept 14 2021) and in relatively good health.....but have been feeling sorry for myself. I am lonely! Despite having a great,close family and work colleagues,the only person I truly, deeply, loved and wanted to marry, told me, after 4 years together (and engaged for 1 year) that she wanted to be on her own...she no longer wanted me to be part of her life. This absolutely shattered me and still,after 4 years, I cannot come to terms with the loss. But after watching your video, I realise how small, stupid & irrelevant all my worries are. I love you....for your humanity, your perseverance, your refusal to accept your situation...but above all....for your dignity. I wish I could meet up with you....I'd love to buy you a pint (Or 2 😉) Thankyou...and go on, keep living that wonderful life you so richly deserve.

This kind of comment really bugs me. It's looking at people worse of than you to make your own situation feel better in comparison is what it is. The covid restrictions suck at times and we are allowed to be annoyed about it and have a moan. It doesn't mean we are taking our lives for granted. There has and always will be someone far worse off than you and I out there at all times, it doesn't mean you don't deserve the right to be upset about something effecting your life or be made to feel guilty about it. Its ALL relative to the individual. This whole my misery is worse than yours mentality is toxic
@TrevLFC
@TrevLFC 3 года назад
@@conor2223 What I was saying is, there are people in much worse positions than you so instead of moaning about the pandemic restrictions and other trivial things, try and do something positive in these trying and restrictive times. If you didn’t get that and only focused on it somehow being negative, that says a lot more about you than me.
@conor2223
@conor2223 3 года назад
@@TrevLFC yes and I am doing alot of positive things in these times not that that's relevant. Obviously there is always someone worse off than you, like we have both stated. I was merely pointing out how you shouldn't try and make yourself feel better by thinking of those worse off than you. So if I fell down the stairs and broke both my legs I shouldnt and don't deserve to be upset about it because another guy fell down the stairs and died. That's just the logic that I don't agree with
@TrevLFC
@TrevLFC 3 года назад
@@conor2223 no problem pal. I was just trying to get people who may be down purely because of lockdown restrictions to realise there are worse scenarios. Sometimes people being a lot worse off actually trigger people to stop wallowing and do something positive with their lives. I totally understand your view, and people would think I’m bloody lucky falling downstairs and breaking my legs when someone else did the same thing and died. And maybe they would run a marathon when they got better realising the other person died. Anyway, stay positive..

What an inspirational human being! Cancer is tough and chemo is even tougher! I had my testical removed from a rare form of cancer in 2018 and it was the roughest toughest time of my life! What an absolute hero! I wish you and your family the absolute best x

Quite literally running away from Death. An incredible story and the REAL Captain Britain. A very congratulations to this outstanding gentleman for all his otherworldly accomplishments. What an honour to share the same planet as this man.

Hello. Amazing story. My dad has terminal lung cancer for almost a year and I do hope he would be alive before and after 2023 begins...and after his half-year as well.
