John: I guess I'm dying soon... Doc, do you have a drink? Doctor: We only have Pepsi, is that okay? John: John: *gets up* I think I've a couple of years left
@@ejokurirulezz coca was phased out in favor of coffee. At the time many used it. You can still have a cup of coca infusion in many countries and it's no big deal.
I've also read that Coke owes a lot of it's success to the fact that they made sure Coke would be advertised and sold in every gas station across America with a Coke machine out front, that way thirsty travelers not only bought it they also brought with them on their travels making it a familiar brand to everyone.
That could be reality soon coz underground rivers and natural water resources are abusively heavily exploited by soft drinks makers (coke being no 1) It takes 618 liters of fresh natural ground water to make 1 litre of high fructose corn syrup coca cola. That's just about water and I don't wanna start on co2 etc etc So basically what belongs to nature, the people, the future children's are snatched, exploited for free( no compensation for environmental issues) and sold back to you fans of corporates robbing future of coming generations.
Repent to Jesus Christ “But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.” Luke 6:35 NIV
He was a Confederate officer who was wounded in the "Battle of Columbus" at the very end of the war. He is buried in Columbus where he had begun work on his "cure".
I know, first thing I noticed was the implication that he fought the U.S. by showing picture of Union soldiers and then the total absence of any mention of his service to the Army of Georgia and the C.S.A! P.C./history revisionist cowards!
"It's also the second most recognized brand in the world behind Nike" Nike isn't even the first to come to my mind when I think of shoes but when it comes to drinks I immediately think about Coke
Coke started out actually having coke( the drug)in it until they found it was addictive! They were forced to take it out but the rest of the ingredients were left in the drink.
I just purchased Coca Cola bottle and read "since 1886" And this brought me here to watch John Pemberton... Great work py great man Love from Pakistan 🇵🇰
@@traceywilcox3108 Truth be told, even today in the South and East of Europe, that thing holds true, I mean, if you ask people in such regions, especially the ones with a lot of alcoholics you'll realize that they don't drink coke, which could be due to it containing sugar and caffeine and that doesn't mix nice with the old fashioned ways of the local street alcoholics and drunkards'
@@harryblaine9750 well....if you really know history WATER....is the deadliest drink out there. simply cuz u cant live without it. im native american, and my tribe fights with the raunchers over water rights like the sun rises every morning. its just become a part of life for us. but there is a quote that a lot of elders told me before... Whiskey is for drinking, water is for fighting.... im pretty sure mark twain actually coined it first. beleive it or not.
Wait.....it puts a smile on your face when you DO drink it daily? But you said you DONT drink it daily. So how would you know that when you drink it daily it puts a smile on your face? As you originally stated....you dont drink it daily. So...which is it? Or are you being intentionally confusing?
I agree. I heard somewhere that the two words in the English language that are the most recognized in non-english speaking countries are OK and Coca-Cola.
Here it is. John Stith Pemberton (July 8, 1831 - August 16, 1888) was an American biochemist and Confederate States Army veteran who is best known as the inventor of Coca-Cola. In May 1886, he developed an early version of a beverage that would later become world-famous as Coca-Cola, but sold his rights to the drink shortly before his death
Always have benefit doesn't matter! could not miss me? Damages will attack you! Depend who you are!?why should I forgive you? very difficult to fix damages since everything was change!? Everyone understand never disobey the boss, but boss don't look like a boss?
Those beans saved my life. As an infant, I didn't doo-doo in weeks & so my parents took me to the hospital & the doctor told them to give me some of this cola. 48 years later, I am still here ain't I?
Did you eat the cola beans or drink the cola and if so, what brand? Just simple Coca Cola or another brand? I’m having some issues with going to the bathroom right now
John on his "death bed" John: hmmm, bubbly high juice Doctors: what? John: bubbly happy juice Doctors: *confused* John: n one made it yet? Doctors No... John: Alrighty then, I'll take some extra years to live, bye *walks out of hospital* Mean while in 2020 AND THATS HOW A MAN MADE ALOT OF PEOPLE HIGH Sir I asked why there's screaming coming from your basement
Coca-Cola used to be one of my former company's clients and they actually decorated our whole cafeteria with a 1950's diner theme using the Coca-Cola colors of red and white. It was literally like dining in a themed café. We had the bar stools, red and white vinyl tiles, red and white couches, Coca-Cola neon lights, etc. They also had a huge mural stuck on the office walls.
Most people don't know it, but Coca-Cola actually created Santa Claus. Yeah there was already a Father Christmas or whatever, but Coke brought us Santa. Santa started out like the Energizer Bunny or the Frito Bandido, as a product character, then evolved into being a generic folk character no longer associated with just one product.
ngl this youtuber deserves 100 million subs he teaches historic stuff like how stuff originated and how stuff came to be and its shown in an interesting way. well done mate keep doing what you're doing.
People say that only 3 people know the secret formula, bro this guy just gave it away to like a billions of people to see. Really taking one for the team Edit: Actually 2 million, sorry
"the formula" is a precise recipe with ratios, not just ingredient list without source. The ingredients are not that hard to reverse engineer. The precise ratios and production process is hard to figure out. Also ingredients taste different depending on where you source them and how they where processed.
It's sad that the original inventor never got to see the success of his business, but it's still an amazing story :) Keep making videos like this, I'm really enjoying them.

Having grown up from a small child to adulthood with a Father who worked for Coca~Cola in the 50s thru to the early 70s, and having worked there myself for 4 years I thought I was well versed on the beginnings of the product. I was seriously mistaken. This video taught me more than I ever knew! Thank you!

IT'SME that's true 'Pulls out uno reverse' HOWEVER, it says "John believed his wine could not only cure addiction but depression and anxiety" Implying that john is certain that it would cure addictions.
I really love your format how you have “chapters” to separate the video. It’s very unique and you pull it off well. I subscribed and look forward to more of your content. Thank you.
Coke is one of those perfect products that can't be replaced or imitated. Like, Hellmann's Mayonnaise, Snickers, KFC original recipe, N.Y pizza, White Castle cheeseburgers, Sabrett hotdogs, etc.
“John Stith Pemberton (July 8, 1831 - August 16, 1888) was an American pharmacist, and Confederate States Army veteran who is best known as the inventor of Coca-Cola.” I’m glad the creator of coka cola is a confederate soldier
Sounds like Frank is the one who really had faith in this, despite the initial setbacks. Kind of amazing, really, since there wasn't a comparable precedent. I like the way this video identifies the different flavor essences that go into the recipe too - some I wouldn't have guessed.

When my sister was 5yrs old, she started complaining of tummy ache and before they knew what was happening, l started to foam in the mouth, they needed to give injection but needed me to have had something to eat or drink. The only thing available was coke, according to them, the minute l sipped about 4 times, the foaming stopped and within 30 minutes the tummy ache stopped. She was discharged that day with no further treatments etc This was over 4 decades ago
"There is no limit to what a man can do or where he can go if he doesn’t mind who gets the credit.″ is the perfect quote to summarize the history of Coca-Cola.
