After the unexpected success The Walking Dead, Telltale Games tried desperately to repeat those results. The company crafted several games based on popular IPs after The Walking Dead: Season Two, but none could reach the status of its breakthrough hit. So Telltale decided to pump out titles as fast as they could, including new entries in their Walking Dead series. And that inevitably led to their downfall. In the second part of the Telltale Walking Dead retrospective, we take a look at The Walking Dead: Michonne, A New Frontier, and The Final Season and examine how the company fell from grace. #WalkingDead #TelltaleGames #StillNotBitten

Its appreciated by loyal fans that stuck with the series and held out hope of it improving and Telltale returning to finish what it started. But as for casual gamers that loved season 1 which got world renowned fame and success, but lost interest in season 2 and 3, it completely went under the radar. The show is experiencing exactly the same thing, every day I see or hear on RU-vid or social media someone in the comments saying "this show is still on??" TWD has gotten too big for its boots and milked the franchise dry, its not about what it originally was anymore. Having said that season 9 and 10 of the show and season 6 of Fear TWD have been extremely well received with loyal fans, while everyone else is either in disbelief that it still exists or doesn't recognise how much it has improved

@@ThaynesStreams Eh I strongly disagree. It has many flaws and it's not as good as season 1, but the game does many things for me that make it leaps ahead from season 2 and 3. Characters were more fleshed out and likeable: Louis, Violet, Aj. Episodes were much longer which I preferred over the shorter eps in season 2 and 3 and I liked the new gameplay and camera view they added (it wasn't perfect but it was fresh at least) . I'd give it a 7.5/10 overall but it would've been higher if the ending was stronger and had more impactful choices

@jakejohnson9151
@jakejohnson9151 3 года назад
@@ThaynesStreams I can agree with your issues with some things being underdeveloped like how the kids survived for so long, however, I still don't see how season 2 did anything better season 4. For me, the cast in season 2 had lots of potential but ultimately felt flat in the end: You teach can sarah how to use a gun but that does nothing and she dies the exact same whether u save her or not (only difference is the location), nick has an interesting backstory but dies offscreen, Rebecca also had an interesting backstory, potentially carrying carvers baby, but that also goes nowhere, only characters with some development were Luke, Kenny and Jane but even Luke dies in a shit way. Compared that with Louis, Tenn, Violet, Marlon, AJ who all at least had some level of character development and have a good conclusion to their arcs (for the most part). I do agree with everything you said about episode 4 in the final season which is why my overall score for the season was lowered. Episode 4 didn't really feel like it was capping off the entire series but just that season. All the choices you make for Aj don't really matter like the game kept advertising: you only see the effects the choices had on AJ in last episode for one or two scenes but those were only based on whether you shot Lilly or not or if you choose to trust AJ in the cave. It just could've been a much grander episode imo

So for the bite in season 4, most people think it should've killed her, but I think it actually makes perfect sense. By the time Lee cuts off his arm it had been hours since he got bit and by that point the bit spread through his body which is why he passed out. After that it took like, idk a full fucking day like 14 hours just to go from getting bit to dying. Compare this to Clementine, who got bit, and started the dying phase like 15 minutes after cause all they did was run to the cabin. The reason why she was pale, exhausted and on the brink of death was due to blood loss from the leg cut she had from Minerva that happened right before the bite, its the only reason why she got bit. In reality the bite got cut off 10 minutes after it happened and makes perfect sense, plus the reason for her being pale and showing similar effects before dying from a bite makes sense due to the fact that she was experiencing blood loss. The only thing that doesn't make much sense is probably how she was able to live from even more blood loss and escape but that's a different story. Either way the bite being cut off works in this and compliments previous knowledge since Reggie back in s2 was able to survive a walker bite too by getting his arm cut off minutes after he got bit.

@Xavier The Great i dont think that's how it works lmao, just rubbing against the wound isn't gonna infect it lol plus it would've been gone from him burning the leg to stop the bleeding.. plus he could've just taken 2 seconds to wipe the blood off on his shirt or smth.
@simla5
@simla5 3 года назад
@Xavier The Great Actually if you have severe wound for longer, it slows down the blood flow, that works in Clems favor for surviving the bite as well, the spread of the infection was significantly slowed. So if AJ used the axe to cauterize the wound, that's not really a problem. The part I have a problem with is everything else after the amputation. I just don't buy that AJ would be able to do all that shit fast enough to save her. They could've handled the eding better imho.

I thought S4 of TWD and conclusion to Clem's arc was amazing. It was miles away improvement over luckluster, super boring, idiotic and generic "love triangle between polar opposite brothers" storyline we got in S3. If it wasn't for Clem and few cute moments of hers in S3 I would just skip that season overall and pretend like it never happen. S4 on the other hand: better and more interesting storyline, NPCs were terrific. I enjoyed the kids, they all felt very unique and memorable, but most importantly, it's best Clem we got since S1. In season 1, she was this cute adorable girl you instantly fall in love with and want to protect her. In S4, Clem still has some of those traits, but she is of course much older. On top of that she is now protector and parental figure to AJ, but she herself is still a kid and she has no idea what she is doing. She just makes shit up along as she goes, which is reflected several times in dialogue. But what's really cool is how Clem sometimes interact, especially around AJ and Louis, you can see she has this childhood innocent about her and this optimism. She can be funny, goofy and prankish few times. People forget she use to be prankster in S1, she pranked Duck all the time. S4 is who Clem would be as person if world didn't go to shit in S1 and she had normal childhood. She would be responsible, mature, but often very optimistic and goofy, fun loving teen. Having to watch that last segment of the game after Minnerva fight where she gets bitten and desperately tries to push forward and protect AJ one last time till the end was just heartbreaking.

I agree with you so much! It surprises me that so many people dislike season four, because I felt like it was about as good as season two. Some of the Ericson's kids don't get a lot of time or attention, sure, but it's not like all characters in the first two games were deeply fleshed out. Mark and Katjaa in season one were nice, generally good people, but we didn't get much else from them besides that. The same can be said about Alvin and arguably Pete in season two. The reason they hit harder is generally through how they die, not who they actually were as people. Mark's legs being chopped off and eaten, Katjaa being unable to kill her son and committing suicide, Alvin being used as a demonstration by Carver and Pete's sickness catching up to him; these were all very dramatic deaths that made the characters impactful, presenting the illusion of well-developed characters without necessarily going through the trouble of actually putting a lot of time into them. Aasim and Omar's failure is in their survival.
@njmfff
@njmfff 3 года назад
@@wolfywonder8480 Season 4 was miles better then season 2, when it comes to characters. S4 had really cool kids and Lilly coming back as major villain was really nice detail. S2 characters were wasted potential. They had good setup and were given cool diverse personalities, only for game to do nothing with them. All of the interactions with them have zero impact of the outcome and them being alive or death had zero impact on the story, because even if you save them, game will threat them as "dead" , because it was focused on singular narrative, making all of your choices basically just moral flavor. You save Alvin, only for Carver to keep him in his office entire ep 3. NO IMPACT. You save Sarah, only for her to get killed 15 minutes later. You save Nick, only for him to have a single line in ep 3, to be killed in ep 4 off screen, and you can't even reflect on his death because you're in hurry to save Sarah and Luke. You chose to go with Pete, only for him to be bitten and has to die. You go with Luke, Pete dies off screen. You can't change the outcome of Luke's death, no matter what. Only real impact are some interactions with Kenny, and obviously killing him or Jane at the end. That's about only real impact you have on the game.

@@njmfff I see Season 2 as a masterpiece in the sense that it's not gourmet cooking, but your grandma's instead. There were a lot of elements I felt that weren't as strong, like the characters and such, but the chaos and dark themes all welded together to get Clementine to her breaking point. That last scene when she decides Kenny and Jane's fate is just that. It was Clementine at her breaking point after she was thrown around throughout the whole season. The first line we get when there's that time skip (after Omid dies) is, "Listen to me Christa," then throughout the season she's not listened to when it counts, and it's the most evident when Kenny and Jane fight. And like, you're right about that last choice being the one with the most impact story-wise. That's kinda the point. Like, Clementine tries to make a difference throughout the whole season, but she can't because the people around her don't acknowledge it aside from once or twice, or they do in the worst ways. This season is a perfect example of what the first video on TWDG said about the choices; it's really about how your perception changes, not the storyline itself. There is impact, but it's not with the storyline, it's with your perception and thusly Clementine's. That, and there's also the restraints of Telltale and just video games in general. We're the ones sitting on the couch. Saying that the storyline should take more routes is a LOT different than actually programming it, designing the scenes, recording the voice actors, etc. etc. There is something to be said about being reasonable and acknowledging how much money (…which Telltale apparently wasn't rolling in, lol) and time it would take to do that. I'm a writer myself, and that's even a daunting feat to even begin to process, and to have that but with a video game? I'm okay with there being some limits (even if they could've done it better). So like, not gourmet, but dammit, I like my grandma's cooking. Lol. With the final season, I absolutely loved it right alongside season 2, though my biggest qualms with it is that the final season plays into nostalgia a tad much (like bringing in Lee during conversations when Clementine could've been thinking about Kenny or Christa more), as well as a few other things here and there. The biggest one that rubbed me the wrong way was the season not acknowledging that Clementine could've shot Kenny after Jane dies right off the bat (tis what mine did; hush, I know, my Clementine isn't the most moral person in the world). Like, I get that wasn't a popular ending to season 2, but Clementine's conversation with A.J after Marlon was shot would've been _extremely_ different. For mine I'd imagine shooting Kenny is the worst regret she bears, so she would've told A.J to not shoot someone who wasn't a threat. But, anyway, there's things like that which told me that the season leaned more towards nostalgia than proper story-telling, and then there were pacing issues with Telltale's bankruptcy scare, so not perfect. But a great season. I'm shutting up now, I promise. xD

I also wonder if being exposed to walkers and stuff as long as she has, just from living in that world, gave her a little buffer to it too. Like it still would've killed her, _but_ just from being exposed, she got herself a few extra hours. That, and the timeline between her getting bit and her having it chopped off isn't that much, I don't think. She got bit, like, dead of night, early morning, and they got to the barn as the sun was coming up. So not half a day before collapsing like Lee did before his arm was (maybe) diced.

@@anthonyhack1164 Yeah I'd heard somewhere it was supposed to be like that. I think if it was Luke to take Jane's place they could make it work without changing anything up until the final confrontation at the rest stop. Luke was clearly more level-headed than Jane and since he didn't even want to kill Carver, the situation would have to be tweaked to make it more reasonable that he could kill Kenny. Even though Kenny and Luke disagreed, I really don't think they hated each other and they both cared about Clem and AJ so I think that should be the basis of why they get into the same situation Kenny did with Jane. Instead of pretending AJ was dead, becuase Luke would've never done that, have him bring him into the rest stop but refuse to let Kenny hold him and have a argument begin about how Luke sees Kenny's plan to walk out into the snow to find Wellington as ridiculous and that they should go back to Howe's. The two argue more but Luke keeps hold of AJ and says that he's going back with Clem, and says that Kenny isn't going to stop him. Luke hand Clem AJ and then Kenny snaps about Luke trying to take Clem and AJ, then more or less the same fight happens with Kenny on top of Luke and Clem has to chose whether to shoot Kenny. After Clem wakes up from getting shot earlier by Arvo, have the argument in the truck be about Luke wanting to turn around to reinforce his point later instead of how Jane just confronts Kenny about his family and how people are scared of him.

The reason fans ignore Michonne is b/c it does not fit into Clem's timeline. People care more about Clem than Michonne. So far Clem's story has been from childhood to adult. The writers could go back and fill in the gaps but I don't know how well they would fair. Such a project might just fail worse than Michonne did.

It sadly suffers from the same problems as the recent TWD TV seasons and The Last Of Us Part II. They forget the infected actually exist and, while in the community conflict, rush the infected in, but they are too obvious. Just look at how Tripp or Ava dies by those walkers. They probably looked at the writing and said "Oh shit we haven't had a walker appear for 3 hours". There's only one main death by walkers, and it's Tripp/Ava. Conrad is determinant. Rufus isn't even that important. The only other people who die via walkers are the extras in the walker attack on Tripp's place (I forgot the name) and on Richmond. It just seems like they forgot about them completely when writing the story. Sure, Jolene once said "The dead don't kill their own. It's the living you gotta worry about.", but the dead still exist. They do a much better job with the walkers all throughout Season 1, in Season 2 (Episodes 4 and 5) and all throughout Season 4. Season 1 not having a named community was a great characteristic, but in Season 3? They might as well have named it "The New Frontier: The Walking Dead", as the walkers play a miniature role in the story. It feels more like a nuclear apocalypse instead of a zombie apocalypse.
@Sev3617
@Sev3617 2 года назад
@@denisucuuu why is not focusing on the zombies a problem? The walking dead was never about the zombies, and that comes straight from the mouth of the guy who created TWD, Robert Kirkman. It was always about the characters and “the walking dead” refers to the characters, not the zombies, again, directly from Robert kirkman. TWD was always about human drama first and foremost.

Really enjoyed this video series mate, the way you retold and explained the story made me want to go back and play it all over again! I enjoyed every season of the series but it was clear that Telltale wasn't evolving as time went on and with Michonne and A New Frontier it really does show. However, despite the disaster at the final seasons beginning the Final Season was a great conclusion to Clementine's story. Again, great video mate and looking forward to seeing what's next for you :)

I always thought that Clem's survival made sense here and appreciated the work Telltale did to justify it while making some symbolic meaning in it, as Minnie inadvertently saved her life by cutting her leg open with the axe, as the walker bites her in that spot. Essentially the way I understand it is that the walker bites themselves aren't lethal but whatever diseases and infectious cocktails are in the corpses are, and even if it is a viral infection, both would be rendered somewhat ineffective by Clem's bloodloss through the wound, being unable to circulate through her body and the reason why she ends up so physically ill so quick isn't succumbing to infection, but anemia. And I think in an ironic way of symbolism it sort of shows Minnie more as the person she was through her manic state at the end, essentially granting Clem the chance she needed to survive and to also ground her and keep her at this new home with her new family, needing to rely on others and not being able to just make it on her own, even if she never intended to beyond that point, essentially taking on Minnie's wishes to be with her family in a twisted way.
@Hayden2447
@Hayden2447 2 года назад
The wound definitely helped Clem survive the bite but it didn’t save her life, if Clem’s leg was never injured Clem would have been faster and able to climb up in time thus never getting bit. Minerva really caused Clem to get bitten due to the wound slowing Clementine down thus allowing the walkers to bite her.

what i think that happend with Clem´s leg is that the virus travels throw blood, and because clem´s leg was already bleeding out the virus couldnt reach the rest of the body so cutting it saved her from getting infected.

What they did with A new frontier was BRILLIANT. Instead of forcing Clementine to do stuff that was not logical for her age, in the hands of the player, they scripted her as a secondary character. Devoid of context (Forgetting season 1 and 2), Season 3 is a good stand-alone game with solid characters, fun gameplay and a good storyline.. The main problem with this game is how much Clementine is included since it kinda ruins other character development.. Conrad seems likeable at the start but Clementine shooting the guy who sold her blanks ruins any initial development and idk anyone who chose to side with Conrad when held a guy to Clem (even tho Conrad turns into a good character if you keep him alive).. Most players also held a negative feeling to David because of Clementine since she held him in such low regard after AJ so the player never really got that chance to form an opinion on him. The same can be said about Tripp, Eleanor and Ava so Clementine being in the game automatically cancels any player development since we hold what Clementine says so much that it impacts our decisions and opinions.. Javi is a great protagonist but if the player was able to play with Clem or if Clem wasn’t in the game at all, the game would’ve been much better

Honestly in terms of personal preference id order the games from favorite to least favorite like this : new frontier, season 2, season 1, the final season I think I'm just biased towards the final season because its kinda the season that got me into the game (I know, I'm a disgrace for not playing the others first) but I'll have to agree that in terms of story and connections with the characters and suspense, and just everything overall, season 1 really did do it best!!!

So, here's my theory about Clementine's bite. (Well, I say mine, but I'm sure many have said this.) Basically the axe cut in her leg was above the bite, as well as the fact that her being amputated only 20ish minutes after being bitten. Because the cut was above the bite, most of the "venom" would leave the leg with the blood, helping slow the spread greatly.

Things that bother me about The Final Season: 1) The conflict at the end of episode one and episode two. Are you seriously telling that a survivor as intelligent and level-headed as Clementine, who learned how and when to use a gun at the age of nine, did not tell AJ the appropriate time to use a gun? That is 6-7 years of experience. No way he did not learn how to read situations properly. He knows about anger and sadness, but not empathy? 2) Options that allow you to kill a plot-progressing enemy. Anytime you pick these, the game will clunkily ensure that you die. At least killing Joan let you live. Try to kill Abel at the train station? "AJ...shoot!" Abel murders the both of you with ease. (She could have easily nodded to AJ to shoot like she does in the brig, but no...) Want to kill Lilly while she is in her monologue? You do so, but one of her cohorts kills Clem as she admires her accuracy. (The funniest one happens when you lose the grapple to Marlon.) Spot Minerva in the crowd of walkers? Shoot directly at her? Too bad, she can deny physics and move fast enough to throw a walker in front of the approaching arrow. 3) Abel's abel-ities. If you choose to push him out of the window, he manages to only get bitten on his left arm? Even if he shot the walker on his right, that would have created noise that would attract more walkers. Regardless, the walker on the left still had time to bite the left arm. Considering how long the walk is to the Delta ship, and the fact that Abel had nothing on him to saw his left arm off, it is logically impossible for him to not have the virus in his bloodstream before getting back to base. Also, why keep him with a double-barreled shotgun if he only has one arm? He went to the train station with an M1911. They should have just kept that as his weapon in both scenarios. Or better yet, have him somehow acquire a taurus judge. The recoil of a shotgun seems too much for a single arm. (Also, why the hell did Louis and Violet not duck as soon as Abel moved his gun in their direction?) 4) Violet may lose an eye if she gets captured, but Louis somehow loses his whole tongue. (I still find that unbelievable considering they likely did it with a meat cleaver and would have had to force his mouth open the entire time. Going partially blind from an explosion makes more sense.) Louis basically looses his entire personality if he gets caught. Remember Eddy Murphy from the movie "A Thousand Words?" Yeah, when comics cannot use their voice, a lot of their charm vanishes. 5) Delta's strategies. They shoot Omar in the leg, effectively crippling him. If your cause is so immediate that you need *kids* to fight it, making it so that they cannot run is an idiotic move. Stabbing Mitch was stupid considering when Louis/Violet later attack Lilly she is able to free herself from him/her and hand them over to a raider. It would have been smarter to just counter him with a right hook, then throw him into one of the crates. You came here to *grab, convert, and train* the adolescents to fight your war. Killing them defeats that purpose. It is also worth mentioning that removing their ability to speak would prevent you from hearing crucial details on the battlefield. Even if Louis worked the supply lines, he would not be able to communicate a sabotage or shortage while an attack is underway. No one has time to read hand signals while bullets are flying every which way.

We Don't Talk About Kenny: Telltale's Walking Dead Season 2 - RU-vid ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vGl12Sv9SNs.html This video gave me a lot of perspective on Clem's arc, which I'd like to share with you. This video essay proposes that Clem's arc begins in season two as the simple question of; "Who will be Clementine's new Lee?" She joins a group after being separated from Christa, and you'd think the surrogate Lee would show themselves. But they don't. No one in this new group can take Lee's place. When Kenny returns, we come to believe that he's going to be the new Lee. But he isn't it either, making rash decisions and resorting to violence as a means to solve his problems. As this video states, by the end of the game you have your answer to that question. Who is going to be Clementine's new Lee? Clementine. For as much of a mess as season three is, it continues Clem's arc beautifully. On her journey to becoming Lee, she's accidentally become the spitting image of the character who became Lee's dark mirror in the first season; Kenny. Season three Clem is a Clementine who's lost her moral guidance along with AJ, which has made her go down the same path as Kenny. However, Javi is there to pull her back from the edge. Unlike Sarita, who sought only to comfort Kenny, Javi critiques Clem and provides another perspective to the situation. His character is the perfect foil to season three Clem, helping her get back in touch with her emotions and accept losing AJ without accepting that he's gone for good. Season four concludes this beautifully with a parallel between Clem and AJ and Lee and Clem's relationships. While Lee had to teach Clem how tough the world was without breaking her, Clem has to teach AJ the intricacies of human emotion and understanding without harming or confusing him. Marlon's death in the first episode directly shows that, though AJ is coming to understand emotions and how to make such big choices, he's still focused on survival and practicality, highlighting Clem's failings as a mentor and surrogate parent. Season four closing with AJ making the choice to disobey Clem to save her life completes his arc alongside Clem's, by showing the fruits of her and AJ's labor. The entire barn scene being a direct homage to Lee's death scene is symbolic of Clem finally becoming on par with Lee, finally on his level and having raised a child to make the right calls, even under the worst circumstances. As downhill as this series got, I have to respect the amazing arc Clementine underwent along the way.

I feel like Season 1, was truly the only good season. It has faults and isn't perfect of course, but as you said; it did the job well. It got me invested in Lee and Clems journey as well the people around them. As another critic had worded; Season 2 was more focused on the "dark" part of the setting, but not in a healthy or good manner. Every choice you/Clem can make, always was met with vicious consequences, not as the generic 'All your decisions matter,' but as in; You help person B, Person B dies two seconds later; you trust Person C, Person C betrays you 5 seconds later. Your choices were always met with and underlined bitterness or hatred, for mostly no other reason, than shock. And it impacted the overall story, as it just seemed to beat down any and everything. Season 3, when we rejoined Clem, seemed to continue this trend of unjoyful hatred, as her character never felt really earned, despite yours and others arguments, and just how they tried to focus on the teen aspect with not so well implemented bits. It was around here i lost all interest in TellTales take, as well the series as a whole, seeing as the TV Series began to grad as well. With the bad news of TellTale along Season 4, i had no interest or hope to see the stories end. And as a whole, the major fault in the last few seasons i feel simply falls to badly written story, character, and struggles. It was no longer about seeing a character thru a rough journey, but instead, watching as the writers just beat everything enjoyable out of the character, setting, and story in general. As for the other games; - Back to the Future, was the first of their games i got into, and i enjoyed it on its own merits as well seeing the ip. It was a decent adventure in its own right. - Their Borderlands game was successful, large part being Borderlands is very much just a chaotic playground, with very few things holding them back. The story, characters, and setting all were handled greatly with TellTale, and offered a different perspective; as oppose to the original shoot and loot. - Wolf Among Us, i could argue brought light to a comic series, that many might have never noticed. And likewise got me invested quickly on its world and characters. - Minecraft, failed in many aspects just from how badly the story, humor, struggles, and characters were written.

You say in Season 2 if you help someone then the other person dies 2 seconds later, but that never even happened, that’s exactly what happened in season 1 and you claim it’s the only good season. On top of that you didn’t even mention season 4. Badly written characters shows you never even played Season 3 or 4 to be honest, there are plenty of people who are very like-able like Violet (If you save her and not Louis), Louis, AJ, Conrad (if you keep him alive) Tripp, Javier, and Jesus/Paul, there are many more too.

The only reason that Clem being saved by cutting her leg off doesn't make sense is because she was clearly already turning. Lee wasn't that far in the development of his bite and cutting it off didn't work for him, when it should've. It's worked in the comics and show, as long as the bite is cut off quickly enough. I was screaming for AJ to cut her leg off as soon as she was bitten, it would've made more sense that way.

she had massive blood loss bro she looked half dead bc she was literally half dead, idk if you know this but dying due to excessive blood loss is a horrible thing for most people to see, lee got bit and then took forever to even address it and by the time the option was given it wouldn’t have mattered bc the walker bite had already settled into his bloodstream where as clem was but literally within the same hour lost high amount of blood meaning it was harder for said zombie bite to infect her because it couldn’t easily access the blood stream due to massive blood loss

The reason why lee getting his arm cut off didn't work was because he waited way too long maybe for 2 hours then he tried to cut off his arm but that didn't work because it already settled into the blood stream also he could've also turned from loosing too much blood when he got his arm cut off while clem got bit but she already had been axed in the leg so the leg was long gone and the bit was only settled in for a few minutes like 45 minutes that's why she didn't turn

A New Frontier wasn't even a bad game. They could have taken it in a few better directions, and some of the plot is a bit wonky. But overall its a good game, the graphics are a step up, it introduces new characters (who are at least somewhat likeable like Tripp, Javi, Ava, and does a nice call back with Jesus). Also it does a lot of world building while still including someone everyone wanted to see, Clementine.

@ethanragbir8311
@ethanragbir8311 3 года назад
@@izeahb2720 I still feel that season 2 was better than season 3 simply because the story surrounds Clementine and another fan favorite, Kenny. The season specifically caters to Clementine's development, whereas season 3 doesn't (yet you do see her change physically and mentally with some backstory why). But yes, it is definitely better than a lot of people give it credit for

Damn, where are the subs man?! Stellar content! And just to give my 2 cents on the series, I think you sumed up everything pretty much perfectly. I finished it all recently and while I for the life of me cannot consider any of it as my favorite games - because they are barely games to begin with - there's not much other media that hit me emotinally so much, from that standpoint I consider it one of the best ever. I hope Telltale will learn from their mistakes and deliver something more from The Walking Dead universe. I don't really feel ready to say goodbye to this universe, hell I even came back to the TV show which I shit on constantly. Oh and Pro-tip: Do not finish the telltale games and comic books in a quick succession if you don't want to emotinally wreck yourself.

I though the only bad thing about the newer walking dead games was the Characters and Emotion. The Characters started to feel less real and more scripted same with the situations. The Final Season kind of made me feel a bit better about the situations but the Characters were mediocre at most. The Characters from the old games felt so real and so did your relationship with them. Once one of your crew members died in twd it really hit different. It felt like you lost someone you cared about or at least knew. Like when Lee died in S1 it felt so real and scary and it really put a lot of emotion into the moment. Season 1 was great at that. Season 2 was sort of the same. Another thing that I think the old games have that the new games lack is immersion. I dont mean turning off all your lights and pretending your there, I mean you just get immersed no matter where you are. The Final Season immersed me in a few scenes but it wasn't for the majority of the game like it was in S1 and S2. Now with the situations in season 1 it all felt real and like it could really happen. It really added to the immersion. Same with season 2. Season 3 had a super unlikely story that I could see happening in the later seasons of the show but it just really felt off compared to the previous games. I feel like it would've been better if they would have worked up to Anf. Anf did set up The Final Season pretty well though. Now I want to talk about the choices. Oh my god did the first game have fantastic choices. The second season was even better than the first season with the amount of choice you had. In A New Frontier nothing I did or said felt like it had an impact on the characters or story. Now if Telltale regains the IP to Twd or Skybound makes another game this is what they would have to do. Have believable but random situations that effected your relationships with other characters where your dialogue and choices can change that drastically and put emotion into the characters through backstory, dialogue, and situations. All of that coinciding I think would be a good format to start off with.

i don't think it's out of place or a continuity error that cutting clems leg off saved her. lee waited wayyyyyy longer to cut the arm off (if you chose to do that) than clem and aj did with the leg

One thing lots of people gloss over when talking about how Clem shouldn't have survived the bite is that if you read the comics it's made clear the amount of time it takes to turn depends on each person. SPOILER ALERT When Dale is bitten his leg was not cut off immediately, and he still survived. Where when Morgan was bit, his arm was cut off immediately and he still died. That being said the argument for why she didn't bleed out still remains.

The final season ending was kinda weird. I mean you can clearly see Clementine started turning. Lee couldn’t be saved because he cut his arm too late. Abel somehow managed to cut his arm earlier. But Clementine took a lot of time and in the game you can clearly see she’s turning blue and clear signs of becoming a walker. Yet AJ cut’s her leg using an axe full of walker blood and she manages to survive with no major consecuences, only the leg.
