love the story of you (Judge Caprio) as a combat engineer. I was a combat engineer and been on Indiantown Gap a few times, but also served active in Germany, as well as Southwest Asia for operation desert shield/storm. thank you for your service as a soldier and a judge.

Lots of love and respect from India. Across the world we need more judges like him which can make this world a better place. The purpose of law and judiciary is not to punish people or impose fines but to more importantly nudge people to be better citizens and judges like Caprio really do this noble service..

Judge Caprio is a true National Treasure. May the people of Providence whom come before him appreciate his empathy, compassion and fairness. I’m certain he has a many a fan out there that consider breaking traffic laws just to be graced by his presence! 🙏🏻😘 I wish there were more people of power like him in the world.

I'm Australian, but it's wonderful here to see a judge exercising his office with wisdom, upholding the values that underpin the nation and demonstrating genuine compassion tempered with true justice. Amazing and I suspect very rare. Sometimes heaven and earth meet and it's in moments like these.

Its not a criminal offence. Its a civil offence and more so, once one knows what a family goes through who has a member at war, you usually sympathise and empathise!!!

Even when some people are getting a nice break, they still are not respectful enough nor appreciative enough to answer a judge with a yes your honor or simply even just with a yes!

That couple was very funny. As Inspector Quinn pointed out, the difference between them in demeanor was odd but they've been together for 40 years so its working. How many times have we seen a young mother come before Judge Caprio with a small child to report that it was the baby daddy who committed the offense and often it was because they had let them use their car. But when will the baby daddy come in with the mother to admit that it is his fault? And when will these young women get wise? Judge Caprio is very kind to dismiss the charges but I'm not sure that really helps the situation. A sad commentary on our society today.

I think the judge was entirely fair in what he did. He gave her the benefit of the doubt, but warned her very clearly what her responsibility was with regard to the plates. He also pointed out the possibility that the father of the child was probably driving without insurance, to highlight the seriousness of what was happening. Finally, there is no evidence to support your suggestion that the young mother wasn’t telling the truth regarding what happened.

@@p1966kful Sorry, I didn't suggest that the young mother wasn't telling the truth. I believe she was truthful. And, yes, Judge Caprio was very fair, didn't imply that he wasn't. I just don't think it really helps the situation in the long run because it lets the father off the hook completely and others see that happen. I don't have the answer to the problem, it just troubles me.

@@ezghthrt7733 No, you wouldn't be considered unpatriotic nor a coward in the US. Mohammed Ali was one notable conscientious objector in the US and his choice was protected as well as respected. That being said, those who voluntarily choose to enlist and serve, are especially thanked for helping preserve the US constitutional freedoms up to, and including giving their life for it.

Good Lord. They put you in jail for drinking a beer in public. They give you a speeding ticket for going 1 MPH over the speed limit. They put you in jail for smoking in public (depending on where you are I guess). And they have traffic cameras *everywhere* . Man I'm staying out of Providence!
