A farewell to a Green Beret and a hometown hero

A moving tribute to this fallen hero. My brother was killed as a green beret in 1983 when he was 25. I understand.

My father was in 1st battalion 10th special forces Airborne he recently passed away after dealing with stage 3 colon cancer. Rest in Paradise pops and too this gentleman as well.

i stayed chocked up with tears watching this video, i served, thats what breaks my heart. i would have been proud to be in this guys unit. i didn't know him, but this video made me proud of him.

Rest easy soldier, you've earned your peace. We can sleep a bit easier, thanks to you.. Thank you for you service and duty. From Scotland

For all men in the world, esp. the Green Berets of US Armed Forces, 四条金吾釈迦仏供養事　御書全集　p.1144　　（四条金吾も、妻の日限女も、仏像を彫って師匠である、大聖人に御供養しましたが、祈る対象は御本尊であり、本当はそんなことする必要はなかったのです） On　Consecrating an Image of Shakyamuni Buddha Made by Shijo Kingo　vol.1 p.683 (Actually, for Buddhist practitioners, the object of worship is Gohonzon on which Nam-myoho-renge-kyo is inscribed on the center part by Japanese ink or sumi-ink, and Kingo Shijo didn't have to form the Buddha statue as the offeirng to his mentor, Nichiren Dai-Shonin. But he didn't know such a thing. And his wife did the same thing as well.) 此の画木に魂魄（こんぱく）と申す神（たましい）を入るる事は法華経の力なり。 It is the power of the Lotus Sutra that can infuse such paintings and statue with a ”soul" or spiritual property. 此の法門は衆生にて申せば即身成仏といはれ画木にて申せば草木成仏と申すなり　　（草木や国土の非情（感情のないもの）が成仏することを草木成仏といいます） In the case of living being , this doctrine is known as attaining Buddhahood in one's present form; in the case of painted and wooden images, it is known as the enlightenment of plants and trees. (The insentient beings like plants & trees and the land also attain Buddhahood.) (The enlightened land is called the Buddha land, I think.) 御書　p.1145 vol. 1 p.684 此の仏こそ生身（しょうしん）の仏にておはしまし候へ This Buddha of yours, however, is a living Buddha. (Nichiren refers to Gohonzon which he endowed upon the couple of Kingo Shijo and his wife.) 梵・帝・日月・四天等必定（ひつじょう）して影の身に随うが如く貴辺をば・まほらせ給うべし vol. 1 p.685 Surely Brahma, Shakra, the deities of the sun and moon, and the 4 heavenly kings (Shakra's retainers and at the same time being the heavenly gods) will attend you as a shadown accompanies a body and protect you always. (by means of chanting daimoku of Nam-myoho-renge-kyo before your Gohonzon!)
