I think they should have painted the picket fence white. It would match the cottage doors and framing better.

Having a kitchen upstairs is just mad - shopping out of car and up the stairs, and bins and kitchen scraps all have to be brought downstairs, and then there's the firewood..and ashes. I get it, the view. But. Dumbwaiter would be needed for all.

I agree with the comment below. My dream is to spend a summer in Wales. Hopefully summer 2021 that will become a reality. Love these buildings and the farm, having grown up on a cattle ranch here in California.

Whoo! An episode with no melodrama! It was missing the "We've run out of money, what will we do?!?" scene in the middle. The woman from 'The Menagerie' episode reported that she was intimidated by the producers to fake that event.

I thought in UK it was a bad idea to mortar stone walls with concrete, as it keeps the "damp" in when the walls can't breath. At least that's what I learned from other UK and Irish restoration shows.

Ah George ever the pessimist!!! One thing Ive noticed about workers in the UK (not sure if its all tradies or just home builder types) but nobody wears hard hats or especially gloves...Anthrax and Tetanus spores could be anywhere and everywhere in a cow shed..tossing timbers with rust nails covered in cow poo...the mind boggles...That said. what a lovely couple, not so much giving up their whole lives but changing direction in life. Im sure their parents (and inlaw) will live a healthier and happier life now they are close by and I hope Andrew gets his new venture up with his brother...great to see a forward thinking young man. I also hope Anona's new nursery is off and running. I love what their awesome building team have achieved for them, the renovation is wonderful...I'd stay there in a minute if I didnt live on the other side of the world. Cheers and best wishes from Western Australia :)

so heart warming .Question . . were the buildings grade listed or does it matter since its the family farm. Do they have to keep as close to the original buildings or were they able to just alter them as they saw fit like the extension work and so on without needing permits or over sight by officials like in some episodes?

Can we think on the lines of a herb garden hanging from the beams above the kitchen in the cottage till a solution comes. That way the guests can have some fresh herbs when they cook. Though the upper portion is beautiful and come with solution fast 😍😍😍. I can spend my life there😍😍
