Did this song in one take. Perfect pitch, dictation, and emotion. Also did her own background overdubbing. Thus Karen was named “One Take Karen”. Never forget she was a world class drummer too.
A voice from Heaven....watching her waste away right in front of America broke all of our hearts. We were all so helpless. She could hit 5 octaves, and you would not believe the way she played drums.Such talent....
@@caribbeanman3379 Karen Carpenter, a singer who long suffered under the burden of the expectations that came with pop stardom, died on February 4, 1983, succumbing to heart failure brought on by her long, unpublicized struggle with anorexia.
@@scottgelb2650 Her heart failure wasn't caused by anorexia. Her heart failure was caused by chronic malnutrition which in turn was caused by anorexia. Anorexia is a psychological disorder.
Karen Carpenter had one of the greatest female voices of the last century. There are a whole lot of beautiful songs that showcase her voice. Such a sad story. Glad you like her Mo . Love your natural reaction as always. Best wishes
You can really see her go to another place, a sad place, when she gets ready to sing. And she was only about 20 years old here. Thanks for saying she was beautiful because she apparently never felt she was during her life ❤️.
@@MorenikejiTaiwo no sadly Karen Carpenter seemingly suffered from a poor self image among other issues in her life that led her into the disorder 'anorexia nervosa' and she died of heart failure due to complications from that conditon, she was only 32. She was lovely and blessed with that beautiful 3 octave vocal range but she did not know how much the world loved her, sad indeed.
@@MorenikejiTaiwo such a beautiful natural voice as i understand it Karen Carpenter recorded this is just one take, what a loss to the music world when she passed.
Her voice never falters even when changing registers, she is on a different level from anyone else, Paul McCartney said she was the finest female voice ever, no autotune here, pure raw, majestic angelic with stunning clarity, nobody today can touch her, NOBODY.
I have read a number of times that when she recorded she usually nailed it on the first take. ---- They would do a couple more just to make the sound techs feel useful.
The way they go sad to happy is amazing. Minor chords = sad, major chords= happy. But they do it so seamlessly. Her voice is the voice of an angel also. She’s stunning.
I am a rock music lover, But lm crazy 🤪 about Karen carpenters voice. No one can ever sound like her.Her voice makes me feel at home. She is just so awesome. What a sad loss. She gave us such beautiful music.
Their harmonies were always so beautiful and perfect because Karen and Richard Carpenter sang their own back-up vocals/harmonies. Very unusual at that time. Richard was a genius at "arranging" music. Karen is always stunning with her perfect pitch, breath control and contralto voice.
Richard Carpenter, Karen's brother and the backup singer here, wrote the song and the music just for Karen to sing. He did a great job with this and other songs they performed. Great reaction, again.
You couldn't help but like their music - even if that type of music wasn't your favorite. Her voice put us all in to some serious moods. Just an amazing singer who penetrates right into your heart.
Song still brings a shiver. I was young when she was taken. Her brother (on piano) loved sports cars. She was always rescuing him. Just funny trivia for a sad story.
One of the best female voices ever a one off , but her life story is tragically sad taken far to young hope she is at peace. I have to say liking the hair style looking fantastic baby girl your smile lights everything up .
She was special. Everyone who commented before just shared how they felt knowing that they couldn't actually praise her enough. I'm not going to even try. My comment is for you. The look of the bliss you had on your face just listening says it all. The look you had when you realized it was over almost brought a tear to my eye. Amazing job young lady.
I enjoyed your reaction to this beautiful song. When I hear Karen sing, her voice is so beautiful, like no one else I've ever heard sing. It's so soft and so strong and yet sad and happy at the same time and that the voice is just something that is so far advanced that it just puts you in another realm of beauty and in love with her voice. Words cannot express what I feel inside when I hear her sing her songs. A talent that is so beautiful. She sings with passion and feeling that makes the song come alive. I love hearing her sing. Your reaction is so wonderful I like seeing your reactions to love songs. I like it when you do love songs... Thank you so much. 👍😊
I"m in love ♥️ with the baby girl . .She picks the best songs ...but she appreciates the structure of the works and tone and nature of music ...I expect to not be surprised ...I can read it on her face and her eyes ....now we know her heart .....this is good ...very good ....kept this up you are helping people look a little deeper into what the music is written and performed for ...Leon Russell wrote this song great piece of art
Mo, you did it again!! Great reaction to a great song. Sung by an incredible voice! My wife and I love the Carpenters! Their songs hit the airwaves the year we got married in 70's. We had the pleasure to see them perform live and it was fantastic! Karen could really play the drums. We still have their albums and still play them. Thanks Baby Girl!🤗❤
I’m 59 years old and I was in love with Karen carpenter I was 17 years old in 1977 what a beautiful voice gone gone gone but not forgotten now singing for god
One of the all time, all time greatest female vocalists in the history of recorded music, she may even be the greatest ever. I can't think of none better than her. I must get something off of my chest here. You are one incredibly attractive young lady, like crazy attractive ! It's almost painful to look at you and I mean this in the most sincere, positive way. DAMN GIRL ! Peace ☮️ and Love 💕 too you always. Take care and have a wonderful day.
Please don't let anyone make you self-concious about your reactions. Watching you as you listen to a performance is delightful, genuine and very sweet. Let yourself feel what the song intends you to feel....that's why people keep coming back to your channel. That and your lovely accent....and then you are very easy on the eyes...there's that too...😄
It's one of my favorite songs of The Carpenters beautiful song great arrangement Richard Carpenter and fantastic voice caring Carpenter rest in peace Karen
I love this song very much, it’s sooo beautiful ! Karen was a normal person she sings like a Angel ! I like that You like her too. It’s nice to hear this song again. Love your emotions by this song ! You look very beautiful today ! Love from Holland. 🇬🇷👏👍💐😘
Karen’s voice and the gorgeous arrangement, the harmonies. This song could be released today and you would shave a number one, and people crying I traffic all over the country.
There's no such thing as being over dramatic when it comes to the way music can make one feel. Some music will bring tears of joy, chills of excitement, or memories long gone back to you no matter how many times you hear the song. Always just let the music take you away to wherever your feelings want to go.
It's really sad to lose Karen. The world needs more performers like her. You are truly a beautiful woman. Beauty knows no race or color. I love your hairstyle.
You've got to be kidding. Someone gave you grief over your Rainy Days and Mondays reaction? That's crazy. That was classic Mo! So was this !! Your appreciation for the Carpenters has never been a secret to your YT family. Do you have your own egg soup recipe? Take care Hun, RNB
Hey Morey! Didn't they dare to be so gentle? So brave and so strong to do this in a harsh world. Nice to see you. Have a really bright and fun filled day.
Digging the "AM Gold" kick you've been on (AM Gold was a series of 'easy listening' albums from the 70s). So let me offer a couple of other great ones in the genre. "You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine" - Lou Rawls (I like this particularly because it's in my vocal range); "Summer Breeze" - Isley Brothers (the popular version was by Seals and Croft but I prefer this version); "I'll Never Fall In Love Again" - Dionne Warwick
Well done Young Lady, So pleasing to see You appreciate Great Music.Karen was and always will be one of the best voices of our times. Thank You for reacting to this wonderful lovely Song...
Beautiful baby girl where have you been taking a vacation we missed you. Or maybe it’s just me would love to see more of your beautiful face and heart. What a beautiful reaction I can’t see you felt it in your heart very nice thank you and hope to see more of you.
co-written by Leon Russell. Writing credit on the original (1969 single, by Delaney & Bonnie & Friends, featuring Eric Clapton) was to Bonnie Bramlett & Leon Russell. Delaney later gained writing credit & Rita Coolidge has since said she should have been credited too.
The first video I saw of yours was the unchained melody reaction, you had 1000 subscribers, look how far you have come now, well done! Amazing! Still love that smile!
Thank you once again for sharing your inner emotional spirit and extremely beautiful physical reaction to this beautiful piece of music. You are one of my favs. Peace & Love 💕😍
There are only two singers that have lived that can give me goosebumps. Karen Carpenter and Floor Jansen of Nightwish. Never had goosebumps from any other singer that I can remember.
Hey Mo! You are such a beautiful person, inside and out! Your reactions are priceless, both facial and verbal. Just keep doing what you're doing, please!
BBGirl, good choice in music. Karen Carpenter had an amazing voice that could tame a wild beast. It is so sad how she was another example of a great artist taken too soon. My mom was (and probably still is) her biggest fan. I grew up listening to the Carpenters…a lot! P.S. Don’t take anybody’s crap about being over-dramatic or dancing to the music. If the music touches your soul and makes you want to dance, then you go ahead and dance your little heart out!
