So beautiful, I love your approach in your videos..”A few minutes of fun…as I often have had in my mind that I need to create a finished page, card, book, it keeps me from having those few minutes and just beginning. I’ve just realized, watching your beautiful video, that this may be the best way to allow myself to start. Thank you Allison ✨💡✨🤗 ( very much enjoyed your chosen music as well 🙏🏼)
During busy times, it's very rare for me to create something from start to finish in one session... but creating some backgrounds, or painting part of a page, or even just gathering a few supplies together ready for when I next have a few minutes is always worth it. And after several 'few minutes', suddenly you have a finished page or tag or project! I hope you'll have lots of fun playing without the pressure of "finishing". Thank you so much for watching, and for your lovely comments.
I'm so very happy to hear that... best possible feedback when someone is inspired to play! Hope you have lots of fun. Thanks so much for taking the time to comment.
Yes, it's absolutely for sale! PaperArtsy Printed Tissue - Alison Bomber is available from PaperArtsy stockists worldwide. Here is the stockist list, so hopefully you can find some near you (not all PA stockists stock all PA products, but it's always worth asking if your nearest PaperArtsy stockist doesn't have it)... If you have any trouble, let me know. blog.paperartsy.co.uk/p/find-stockist.html Very happy you're enjoying the videos... I've only recently started adding content here regularly, so there's plenty more to come! Thank you so much for watching and commenting.
Hi Alison… love your few minutes of fun! I have an inexpensive Canson Mixed Media Journal that originated as a 10-minute journal but has become a place where I can just play without the pressure of a finished piece so to speak - I have completed layouts in there but there was no pressure doing it. I also have gel printing clean off pulls, some swatching, whatever… anyway… your Few Minutes of Fun videos has encouraged me to pull it out and start playing again so - Thank you so Much!!! I enjoyed watching your process with the watercolors and that you embraced the persistent leak and let it flow and then alter the overall design. I am looking forward to getting your tissue paper and until then, today’s fun for me will be pulling out my JOFY tissue to play in my FUN journal (that’s my new name for my 10-minute journal)… again… thanks for sharing your creativity and inspiration! Have a wonderful weekend! 🙂
Thank you so much for sharing that, Sue - I'm so happy to hear about your FUN journal, and the fact that it's getting more playtime now! I love those Canson Mixed Media pads (do you mean the one with the ring binding?) and also their watercolour paper is a good cheap practice paper. Yes, the paint clearly wanted to go there, and who am I to argue? I often embrace the flowing look in my watercolour paintings, so I thought I might as well give in and let it happen here too! Have a great weekend too, filled with FUN!
Hello Alison, i watched your video with a cupper to relax a few moments. I love your new tissue paper and your new stamps. I've found a shop in the Netherlands and they're willing to order the stamps for me. The tissue paper just came in and i gifted two friends a pack too. Sharing is caring😊. Thank you for bringing your love for nature in our home!! And it's always nice to see you play, much love from the Netherlands, Nicole❤
Oh, how lovely that the tissue paper is spreading as a gift for friends. I hope you will ALL have lots of fun with it! Thank you so much for watching and commenting.
Yes, they are. Here is the PaperArtsy stockist list by country, and I know that most of the Canadian stockists carry at least some of my designs - the Paper & Ink Boutique, Scrapbook Centrale, Scrap Addicts, Paper Art Creations. Hope that helps. blog.paperartsy.co.uk/p/find-stockist.html
That was beautiful and relaxing. You’ve given me an idea! I have some tissue type paper and I don’t use it as it has a surface that doesn’t work well, almost repels. I never thought to use my clear gesso so thank you for sharing.
Oh, that's great to hear - I'm sure the clear gesso will make a difference and you'll be able to use the tissue paper in lots of new ways. Have fun playing.
Because of my limited budget I do not buy much. But I think I could do this with my own plane tissue paper and stamping it. I do have the other products to adhere it. Thank you so much for this idea it's beautiful. Blessings and hugs from Mexico
You can absolutely create your own tissue with stamps... and then you can paint it with whatever paints/pencils/crayons you have. It's a lovely way to create a page. I hope you'll have lots of fun playing with variations on the techniques here. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
Ive had some tags for ages begging me to do something with them. The only crackle paste I had was silver,so I used that, turned out great, then did grit paste an d I also had the metallic distress crayons,Whoopee, they look great looking forward to finishing it off,I would like to see rice paper next.😊.
Oh, yes, the silvery look sounds amazing! Your comment has managed to migrate onto a different video, but I'll tally your vote for the tissue paper (looks like it's going to win!). We will get to stamping eventually too, but tissue paper will come first (unless there's a late run for the stamping in the vote!). So thrilled that you were inspired to go and have some fun of your own. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
I have all your stamp sets and really appreciate your botanicals. As you are painting I would love it if you would post the colors you are using. I have lots of Daniel Smith paints and love them. Thanks for your lovely video.
I love the Daniel Smiths too... In this video, it's mostly Anthraquinoid Red and Quinacridone Burnt Orange on the berries, and Sap Green, Deep Sap Green and Green Gold for the leaves, with some Shadow Violet and Indanthrone Blue thrown in for shadows. I'm still working on the balance of how much information to share (which is why I experimented this week with not talking all the way through!)... but I realise I did mean to add those colours to the description below the video, so thank you for the reminder. Very happy to hear you like my botanical stamps, and thank you for watching and commenting.
I'm not sure which site you're going to... Oh, the PaperArtsy link I provided. Yes, sorry I'm afraid that's going direct to the page with just my stamps. PaperArtsy as a company work hard to support independent craft retailers, so they don't sell the newest products on their own website until at least six months after they are released, so that those stores can get strong sales. I should have put the PaperArtsy stockist list in the description too (and will add it now, as well as in this comment, thank you for the nudge!). It depends where you are based. The worldwide stockists are listed by country, but not all stockists carry all PaperArtsy products (they have a large number of stamp designers with many different styles, as well as a glorious range of paints). If you have trouble finding my Printed Tissue from the list in the link below, then let me know which country you are in and hopefully I can point you in the right direction. blog.paperartsy.co.uk/p/find-stockist.html
That depends where you are... PaperArtsy don't put new products on their own site until 3 - 6 months until after the launch, so that the independent stockists they work with have a strong market share in those early days. But there are PaperArtsy stockists worldwide - here is a list by country blog.paperartsy.co.uk/p/find-stockist.html Not all stockists stock the whole PA line, as there are many designers, but if you have trouble finding the tissue near you, let me know and I'll try to help.
Faites le saut... Je suis sûr qu'une fois que vous aurez commencé, vous apprécierez le processus, quelle qu'en soit l'issue. Et c'est là l'essentiel. Merci beaucoup d'avoir regardé et commenté.
Thank you. The Printed Tissue is already available from PaperArtsy stockists worldwide... the PaperArtsy stockists are listed by country here: blog.paperartsy.co.uk/p/find-stockist.html If you have trouble tracking it down wherever you are, let me know, and I'll see if I can point you in a useful direction. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
So happy you like it... there are quite a few PaperArtsy stockists in the US. Here's the full stockist list by country (though not every stockist carries every PA product - there are lots!) blog.paperartsy.co.uk/p/find-stockist.html I do know that Frantic Stamper in Oregon have the tissue www.franticstamper.com and so do Everything Mixed Media, who I believe are based in Florida - everythingmixedmedia.com - search for my name Alison Bomber on their sites, and you should get the tissue in the list. Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any problems.
Very relaxing watching you and listening to both you and the music. Thank you. I enjoy watching crafting videos while knitting. I'm still colouring the first sheet of your gorgeous tissue paper on the back, with the mattints. I have added a bit of watered down paint to the berries on the back too. It's drying at the moment but i shall pop back and add more colour later x
This is so beautiful and timely for me because I just received my package from Joggles yesterday containing your printed tissue and one of your stamp sets. This was my birthday present to myself to celebrate year 82. This looks so relaxing and I can relate to the way you acquired your Daniel Smith paints. That is how I have done it in retirement - one coupon at a time! Thank you!
Oh, how lovely - happy 82nd birthday (same age as my mother!), and what a wonderful gift to give yourself - creative playtime! I hope you'll have a wonderful time exploring with the stamps and the tissue, and your coupon-DS paints! Thank you so much for watching and for your lovely comment.
I always love to see working hands and I always try to "copy" the art. I started as a child watching my mother making clothes for me and herself. There is that much to learn from crafting hands, no words needed then. Thank you for showing how to add the faded colors around the already painted images. That's something I didn't try yet. I had glued the tissue on with thinned modpodge and added a layer of that over it. And yes, I experienced too ,that the distress colors that I used tend to flow outside the lines when they were too wet. Nice weekend Alison.
Lovely to hear that you enjoyed watching my working hands... happy to hear you are already playing with the tissue, and I'm looking forward to seeing what you create!
Looks like the kind of stuff I like to do! I just started watercoloring this week~ So much to learn. Watercolor paper and tissue paper are totally different to work with but I love the idea of your art on Tissue Paper! I love tissue paper--for a multitude of uses!
Tissue paper is so great for mixed media... and yes, watercolours are a lifelong journey, but one that's so worth taking! So happy you enjoyed the video. Thanks for commenting.
I'm so happy you enjoyed it - and that you love the tissue paper. I'm thrilled to have my stamp designs now on printed tissue (as you can probably tell!).
That thought makes me really happy - it's definitely best when it's fun and free-flowing, trying not to get caught up in outcomes (and definitely without deadlines!). Thank you so much for watching and commenting - I'm so happy you're enjoying the videos.
@@w0rdsandp1ctures This has that lovely Beatrice potter feel to me. It just “feels great” to look at and is so wonderful you just want to stare at it for hours and hours. I cannot wait to see how you expand upon your piece as the videos come out. I tried, my own with tissue design I had of Tim holts with the butterfly, words, and insects. I hope I prepared it correctly. I don’t know if you have a video showing how to do that, but I tried to follow as best I could but your instructions of what you said. It came out beautifully. But it feels lacking depth or dimension… I think I’m not sure how to not make something seem flat but maybe the shading or placement of different color tones. Idk maybe it’s just the really dark print of that tissue paper on all the insects and butterflies that makes it harder to notice that. Either way I had a blast trying it and was thankful. 🙏🏻☺️
@scarlettwarren Sorry for the delay in responding... RU-vid only tells me about new comments. It doesn't tell me when there's a reply to a reply! Yes, it's all about shading to get dimension - imagining where the light is falling from and keeping those parts light, and then darker shadows away from the light. And you can do that with darker shades of the same colour, or with shadow colours like grey or violet, or a bit of both. But yes, there's not a lot of empty space on that Tim Holtz tissue design to be able to get subtleties like that to show up. The main thing is you had a lovely time - so happy to hear that!
