here i have shown you how to make a few mods to your #stanley cookset in order to get a little more out of an already great bit of kit
- a pothanger/lid tab that doesn't melt
- turn 2 cups into 4 cups
and i also show you how i put together a nice, #lightweight -ish cook kit that i use to #hike and go #camping with, as well as an example of how to utilise it.
annoyingly, i have since improved this kit but i am sure it will make a feature in some videos to come. thanks for watching :)

I love it! I recently bought a Stanley Adventure Camp Cook Set too! That’s really cool how you modified the cups. And so awesome that a mini propane canister fits in with it all now. Very very cool!

That is awesome. Yesterday I bought a mini propane canister. Same exact one I saw another RU-vidr use with a Stanley Cook Set. The one in that video dropped all the way to the bottom of the canister… and fit snug in the video. Apparently that canister has had some design changes or something. Mine will not fit all the way on the bottom… but it will rest nicely on the upper part of the canister, like yours. “Budget Cooking Set Kayak Camping” is the title of the RU-vid video I watched… by a guy named Wade Harrison.

The value of the green cup is that the double wall construction keeps them from burning your hand or your lips. I am leaving mine alone.

Another guy taking a perfectly good Cook set and ruining it. Replace the plastic tab on the lid so it doesn't melt, even though evidently from watching the hack vids no one has actually had one melt, and now the metal tab lays flat and gets hot as heck. Cut the insulated cups apart and make them uninsulated cups. Punch holes in the side to mount a bail, and so it leaks all over the place as soon as you try to pour something out of it. How many more ways to ruin this cookset will people come up with?

another guy that has no idea what he is talking about. let's scoop up all the shit that came out of your mouth just now shall we.. the new metal tab does sit up straight, but i use the metal tab so i can hang it over a fire, just like i do in the clip in this video. so that there is an upgrade. secondly, the insulated cups still fit inside each other even after being cut, so if i wanted an insulated cup i still have one. i've used this multiple times like this and have never had an issue with my hot drinks. i have to agree with you on punching holes in it though. which is why i didn't do that (locking the lid in place and using the new metal tab is much more effective at pot hanging). you obviously didn't watch the video. anyway, cheer up misery guts, we can all get along doing whatever we want to do, as long as it doesn't affect others
