That dump truck was super cool I pause the video a few times and looked it over I'd be cruising that at the tractor show I'm sure it would give a lot of attention
Terrific show of old starts,....and you are correct,....ya can't beat a Kohler, unless, of course, it's a Wisconsin! hahahaha! ( guess which make I sold in my day.)
FINE job, Jake! A-PLUS! My 2 favorites are the 'L' head Briggs including the 1/2 VW Vanguard opposed which is really an 'L' head and the cast iron Kohers like the 301's! I'm taking a liking to the Predator styles too. Honda is nice but too overpriced for my income/outgo, mostly outgo. So happy winterish fall and keep on picking! Make me and your Tarheel Uncle happy! GBYall!
Hey Lewie! A wee bit late here... Vanguards are a fine engine, luckily they're still making them too. Ah, so you're one of THOSE guys huh?! Those dang Predators haha. Honda's are a reliable, smooth running engine, but the price tag will getcha! There'll be some pickin' coming up in the Archive video, went on a band trip this past September to record and managed to get some video.
I’m not a fan of the fancy fuel lines. I used it once in a pinch and it didn’t fit right, you have to use special clamps and well I threw it away. So I bought a 25’ spool of good ‘ole rubber hose with braiding in it, a bag of clamps, filters, shut offs and a few Kohler carb rebuild kits so I’m always prepared! Also a bunch of gaskets, spare miscellaneous parts and two of the aftermarket carbs from Norman at I Save Tractors in my reserve.
That was the issue with this stuff, couldn't even use the regular ol fuel line clamps on it! Gotta stay stocked up, that's all good stuff to have on hand. Can never have enough fuel system parts, especially with todays gas.
That’s awesome. As long as you keep fuel out of them when they sit you don’t really have to worry about the carburetors getting clogged. That economy sounds good
They are cool machines I hope you can shelter them soon as possible. I would leave the bucket on the loader also. It makes the machine. Good to see you 👍
Love your content Jake! I'm the guy who bought the M23 Briggs off of you for my 1956 Economy. The tin worked perfect. Wish you had time for more content as I enjoy it and you have a knack for it but I understand what busy is! Hope you find a place to get your stuff under cover soon!
Thanks Bob! Yep, I remember ya! Good, was wondering if that engine worked out for the tractor or not. Been looking up in NH now lately so we'll see what turns up!
Well whoever parked the panzer, last drained the fuel cuz if it had the Ethonol gas in the carb it would’ve not even started & idled that nice. These stock Tecumseh carbs have metal bowls, mine was rusted out when I tore into it after I had it pulled off.
Sure can't beat a good solid Tecumseh (when you find one) but I sure think they are good engines as long as they have a good carb. Is that an IH1 stack on the Panzer? Sounds good. Cheers bud
Have you had any luck on your property search? Always enjoy vintage mowers and tractors revived. Oh how i wished these were available here. I love tinkering on them. I sure would like to get my hands on the large Cub Cadet in the background.
Nothing yet Bill. Expanding my search to NH now (currently in MA) so we'll see! Where were you located again? That big Cub 1650? Good machines... despite the looks that one runs pretty darn well too. Plenty of parts availability too.
Jake, you got mad skills made for RU-vid, but a voice made for radio. Deep, smooth, authoritative but friendly. May be a second income doing radio voiceovers in your "spare" time!
Thanks Peter. Ya know, people keep mentioning that to me... dad keeps joking I could voice TV documentaries. Too bad it wasn't 100yrs ago, I'd probably be a hot commodity with the golden age of radio! Haha.
Man that Panzer has sat for like 3 years and yet it fired up more easily than some of my engines do after sitting for a couple of months lol! I hope you get some property soon because that museum idea sounds pretty darn cool! I'd definitely make the trip up to see it! Are you going to do a repair and startup on that walk behind if you have time this year? Seems like a pretty cool piece! Very cool as usual Jake! Can't wait to see more! :)
I was not expecting it to fire off that fast! Never even drained the gas from it when it was parked there, surprised it even ran! On that Simplicity? Some day I'd like to... had that thing for at least 2 years now and it keeps getting put on the back burner for projects. Would like to set it up with one of the tillers. Thanks Colin!
I'm trying an experiment with all my outside engines by adding a splash of marvels mystery oil to the last of the gas and run em dry on it . Thinking it will keep the gas tanks from rusting inside and coat the carburetors ? Have a good one and stay safe 😉👍👍🇺🇸
That might be a good idea Jimmy. If the Mystery Oil counteracts the ethanol and/or keeps the gas from shelacking the carburetor when it dries, sure would make old starts a lot easier! Keep us posted, curious to know what happens.
@@5Tractorguy I only run non ethanol High Test gasoline in all my small engines because of the damage caused by ethanol . It should be against the law for ethanol to be added to gasoline . Those old carburetors were never designed for ethanol tainted fuel 😉👍👍🇺🇸
