Like the other two people said, Super Smash Flash and Divekick would be fun watches, but I'm thinking how about something like Punch Planet or Merfight or even Rushdown Revolt Mega Smackdown for a turn based fighting game too
OH!! Look up Smack City!!! It's a platformer with a character generator (which can be used to create things for other games as well). Really dope, and needs more exposure.
Extremely well spoken and inspiring, I thoroughly enjoyed the entire interview. Thank you to Paul and Amy for nailing the accessibility aspect, functionally and in terms of the simple charming artstyle; I've had a great time playing with friends who would otherwise have never thought about trying fighting games, though I wish I was younger so I could play it with my old friends in our school lab :(
THIS IS HYPE AF I'm so glad I got back into the game a while back after that initial popularity spike where everyone was trying it out. Best part of the game for me HAS to be the in-game modding engine, I've spent more time recreating fighting game characters in tla than I have playing the game lmao (certified 0-2er)
It's a super neat addition! I have some extra interview footage specifically about modding I may use for a future video or for patreon content, but I def want to dive into it again sometime in the future.

Capcom did release some SF2 remakes for IOS years ago, but they abruptly stopped supporting it once they realized that they'd have to do software maintenance for every iOS update! I got my refund.
This game looks sick! And the devs seem super cool. It's kinda refreshing to hear another person who got into fighting games via emulator and flash games
Seeing the way earlier builds is amazing lol. The wordart round banners! I've enjoyed a good share of TLA and I should honestly buy the steam version to support the devs! 10/10 video again Besteban!
One thing I felt wasn't clear in the documentary: are the echo fighters (like rice/noodle) just evil versions of the characters with the same kit or do they have moves of their own?
Similar move sets but with a couple of key changes that make them stand out. There are quick tutorials in game for each fighter that show you a characters gameplan.
@@Holdbacktoblock - The main difference between the two (categorically I guess) is that the light hearts (top row) have a reversal, but the dark hearts (bottom row) don't! This was somewhat of a happy accident, but it's kinda beautiful how it worked out.
I made a couple mods for TLA and it’s weird seeing gamer tags I know really well in the video Edit: wait I’m actually in the video! 27:11 I believe that clip is from when I made it too far in that tournament and had to be somewhere, but my match was going to be on stream so I decided to do it anyway
Honestly its easy getting the guys to play any fighting game but the girls always complain that they are too intimating but this game is such a big hit for them & my favorites gateway game into the FGC for the girls, the easy to pick up formula plus the cute aesthetic is a perfect blend because something like Footsie they consider too boring & something like Strive is too scary lol
