Fun video! Thanks for sharing both film stocks. Definitely interesting to see the results. And. Whenever I'm back in NorCal I too seek out the Great White.
Great video! I love that you captured the requisite banana slug so commonly found in the redwoods. Really enjoyed seeing the comparison between Ektar and Portra, seems to me that the redwoods are a good environment for both. I’m not really a fan of how Ektar renders the sky so “the woods” make for a nice backdrop. Looking forward to seeing more adventures!
Thanks Mike! I have had a few instances as well where I wasn't completely happy with my results using Ektar under a more open sky. It definitely serves a great purpose for landscapes and compositions such as these.
Grand stuff! Love Ektar, not just because it rhymes with Reptar...lol. I enjoyed your thoughts on shooting such scenes from a lighting/exposure perspective.
Thanks Patrick! I’m really convinced that Ektar was the right choice for the trip. With that being said I would have been curious to try transparency film and b&w as well.
How do you feel your shots compare on the 67 with and without a tripod? I just acquired a 67 and am thinking I'll go through a few rolls of Kodak Gold 200 handheld (somewhat affordable at the moment) for landscape shots in more daylight and maybe switch to a tripod when using something like Ektar or Portra. I feel I have a fairly steady hand and am strong enough to keep the camera somewhat stable without a tripod, but I am definitely not a tripod.
For the most part anything at 1/125 or faster should be fine hand held. On occasion I can get by with 1/60 while using the 75mm. Too bad its a slow lens!
@@thechriswilson I use a homemade setup. I’m able to the film boarders by using a cheap cut out mousepad that I place directly on top of a Kaiser light pad.
