She isnt manipulating him and what she says is also right. Shin cant say that she needs to abandon her goal of putting her knight to rest when shin was so ready to die to kill his brother. All her agenda was out there in the open even her powers are known to them. Shes just a child that lost too much and had enough of it. Its sad that she sees shin as a substitute for kiri but she does see him as his brother and she really want them to stay alive. I just cant agree that frederica is trying emotionally manipulate shin or anyone.

​@@cardinal2921Frederica literally says: "So why are you trying to make me suffer..." in this argument. That on its own qualifies for emotional manipulation, regardless of context. You are also missing the point of the argument. It becomes more clear towards the end that Frederica does not really want to go on the mission herself, and she does not want to remain at the forward operating base, she wants to climb onto a transport and return to the city, BUT she wants to do so with Shin and the others. Everything she says in this argument, the tantrum she is throwing that makes Shin visit her room, all of it is not about her not going, but about the 86 going on the mission. Everything she says to Shin really just means "Please don't go." Just on this one detail you say "is right" NO. She just wants to go back home with her found family, but what is coming out of her mouth is: "Why do you, someone who has made mistake A, get to advise me against making mistake A?" Those are exactly the people who are best equipped to advise you against such a mistake so what she is saying is nonsense, and as I have explained, she does not really want to go and "make mistake A" as I put it, she wants Shin to step away from the mission. Even this is a "please don't go" but it is twisted into an ironic "you don't get to tell me to not go" It is difficult to be at your best in hard times, it's not as if I hate Frederica for misbehaving in this way, she is a child, and her adopted big brother seems determined to get himself killed, I would also have acted out in her position. I was really just drawing attention to the fine touch that directing has in this series.

@@cobusvanderlinde6871 I get all of that as she said it herself and I agree with you there about her just stopping the 86 going on the mission but to imply and say shes deliberately emotionaly manipulating shin is just too much. Shes wise for her age but I wouldnt put it in her to be able to manipulate anyone. Shes just a child on a tantrum not getting what she wants. She still feels responsible for kiri and she wants to have her peace with his ghost plus when she asked how are they going back after the mission no one answered her so she sulks and throw a fit just like what a child does. Theres no plan or shceme in her actions. She just do what a child does.

@@cardinal2921 We're arguing semantics. As far as I am concerned, Frederica behaved inappropriately, by abusing her powers. What she does clearly upset Shin as well, given his reaction. Shin's not on his best behaviour either btw. Suggesting that she does not want Kiri to be killed is cruel of him. BUT: You do not need to be calculating to be manipulative, a lot of manipulation is done reflexively. You do not need to be malicious to be manipulative. And you most certainly do not need to be an adult to be manipulative.

She didn't get a chance to watch it over the weekend so it'll be late.
