Best quote: " I get country when I get nervous." - at 5:10 Favorite shot at 13:08. Maybe favorite missed shot at 12:48 - that smile! Seriously gorgeous. This was such a great video to watch. The format, the friendly competition, and the good times had by all. It would have been great to be a fly on those walls. Thank you for sharing, Mr. Gray. All the best and don't stop.
Loved this Mike!! I really want to try using strobes for the first time but I’ve been really nervous. After viewing you and others using them in this video and your others, I think i’m finally going to make the jump and try it out! Can’t wait for your next video
That was great to watch. Both photographers did their job well. The guy have to shoot with 1/30 of second, that is not so easy. Congratulation that it worked so well. I like the photos of both, really. Greets from germany
Intro absolutely threw me off and caught my attention, you never cease to amaze Mike, absolutely love your work my man, been following for over a year now.
Thanks for taking the 'challenge' suggestion. Pressure busts pipes. But it also makes diamonds - Sarah Ellen and Alec! The Ilford b&w and the Pentax 67 were my winner -- excellent compositions and detail.
as soon the strobe came out I got so excited. I laughed out loud when the strobe didn't fire the first shot. I think that's just a rite of passage with shooting a strobe with the Pentax 67. Everyone has it happen to them at least once haha.
Yo, they CRUSHED it. Straight up. Crushed. Bravo. Alec, the black & white shots. FIRE. Especially that hero shot. Beautiful. Very interesting that the photographer with the studio camera didn't use strobes and the one with the difficult camera to use strobes with, went. with the strobes. They slayed it though. I loved with Sarah came up with, her concept and poses. On point. But I vibed with Alec's a little more because of the black & white shots. Congratulations to both. They raised the bar for future challenges, imo.
I legit thought something was wrong with my desktop during the intro lol 😄 They both came out with some fire 🔥 Can't tell their photos were captured in less than 15 minutes👏
If you like the 105mm, wait until you try the 150mm 2.8 for portraits 😌😌👌🏾👌🏾. Each photographer had their own style. My favorite image was the one in the archway with the old TV. That brought back some memories for me.
@@kavanlake871 the 165 is big, heavy and hard to focus wide open, but damn if it's good!!! Sharp as a razor and with an incredibile three-dimensionality
Hey Mike. Great vid. Intense! Question: are the shots coming out of camera with verticals of the walls and background elements completely accurate as shown? If so, what method guide are you guys all using to get them perfect?
Whilst I like what both photographers produced, I feel that Sarah made better use of the space and the use of the colours, the outfit worked a treat with the space. I like the black and white images that Alec produced but it seemed a shame that they did not make best use of the space. The concept of his colour set was solid, I just feel the lighting and exposure was a little off. All that said, both photographers produced fantastic images.
