I saw somebody who was colony breeding these fairly successfully. He did say that yes, he could get a bigger yield if he pulled eggs and raised fry seperately, but that he is getting enough that make it to adulthood that keeps his colony growing and that he would rather do it that way. I didn't know that you could colony breed them. I thought that was pretty cool. Either way, they are gorgeous little fish and on my bucket list for sure. 👍❤👍

A month ago I bought 6 of these. Sadly they got sick and ultimately 5 of them passed away. I removed the other fish in the tank to another aquarium. Few days later I started seeing lots of tiny fries. I quickly found how to make infusoria and now a month and a week later they’re little but so much fun to watch. Can’t wait to see them all grown up.

I have a few things to say about this adorable little fish: 1) I love how a fish that is so small has two names but two names that are so "Galactically" cool (Is that term in the Webster's dictionary? Oh well, I have my own terminology 😁) 2) I love my Dad .. HOWEVER, as his oldest child it is my obligation to torment him whenever I can. I showed him a picture of this fish before he had his first cup of coffee and he says "what is that? What happened to that trout??"😀 His favorite fish to go fishing for is trout so I made sure that I could rub it in that " No, sorry you can't eat this one" 🤣 It's only about inch and a half 2 in at most. So I don't think you're going to get a meal out of that 🤩

Best looking true nano fish in the hobby, with one downside: feeding them is a nightmare!.. Ive bought 12 two weeks ago, put them in a heavily planted established tank, perfect water parameters and the only thing Ive seen them eat so far is live baby brine, every other food, tried almost all nano food available in Europe from JBL, Dennerle, Oase, Hikari, Sera, Tetra and Prodac, they swim to it, look at it for half a second and swim away.. They dont eat from the top and they dont eat from the bottom and Ive resorted to overfeeding my tank just to give them more chances. Got some NLS 0.5 on the way perhaps that will do the trick xD

I feel they should be called Celestial Pearl Danios, sometimes referred to as Galaxy Rasbora. I say this because the fish is in the Genus Danio, and not in the Genus Rasbora. I haven't had much luck with these fish, and I would bet money on them being super stressed and just a bad batch from the pet store, but exactly how much would tannins affect these fish? My other parameters are within their zones except I've been reading about not including driftwood that leech tannins. I wouldn't think it would kill the fish, but the only other thing I can think of is I only had about 6 in my 40 gal with some harley rasboras. Thanks for any info you can provide, I love watching your videos!

Hi, in the species profile of the Boraras maculata I asked if you perhaps have any idea to why my group of 12 Boraras Brigittae never swim. They always linger in the bottom righthand corner of my heavily planted aquarium. Therefore I barely see them and it really makes me want to quit the hobby. I recently bought Amazon frogbit and Hornwort as floating plants, but this hasn't made a difference either. They only come to the front when I feed them at six o'clock in the evening and then they do swim around till ten o'clock until the lights go out. Do you have any idea why I never see them during the day? The same goes to say fory group of pymae corys. Only active when eating. Hope someone can help me! Thank you 🙏.

If I have a heavily planted tank and do 50% water changes every weekend and its 32 gallons how many of these bad boys would humanely fit in the tank? Right now I have a school of five but theres males and female in there so i expect more.

Keep in mind that they are carnivorous fish so. Feeding them a mix of dry and frozen food is great. If you want to breed them, feeding them a lot of brine shrimp will definitely help!

Every time people hear nano fish they try put them in as small tank as possible which is really stupid . The smaller tank the harder is to keep water parameters stable . One has to be realy experienced to keep fish healthy and not stressed in such a small amount volume of water .

I found this to be true as well until I quit using gravel and switched to a deep sand substrate. I have all nano tanks, from a 6 gallon to a 9 and up to a 10 gallon. My 6 and 9 can now go months without water changes, just top offs. Father Fish channel...

It should be noted that these are Danios and not Rasboras. Galaxy Rasbora is an outdated and incorrect common name for them, CPD replaces it.
@PrimeTimeAquatics
@PrimeTimeAquatics 2 года назад
The Galaxy Rasbora is by far the more common name though.

So are they technically rasboras or danios? And why do they have two names that are both so commonly used? Lol
