Finally, somebody who realizes how great Cutco knives are. And, Yes, shame on all the so-called fishing knives. Bubba ain't got nothin' on this bad boy Cutco knife.
Love mine! I bought the one with the orange handle. Harder to lose. Been using it for just over 14 years and it still does the job. I did send it in twice for sharpening. Only had to pay shipping, so no complaints here.
@acreageliving7798 Nope. Mine doesn't see very heavy use. I fish occasionally on weekends, and it's usually for brook or brown trout, and occasionally a lake trout or salmon. No scales to cut through. This reply is 4 years after my post, and now I just sharpen it at home every couple years. It usually just needs a honing steel and it's good again.
HEY Capt. Joshua, What a neat gift from your lovely wife. It will be interesting in a little time to see how it is holding up. It's ALL in the grade of steel they use if it will stay sharp and if it will take an edge when it starts to dull. ONE thing (Very Important) - I am sure it says to keep it away from Children so you know what that means, The KNIFE gets put away When CHRIS is around!! LMAO!!! Sorry Chris but your such an easy target! 😁🎯 God Bless guys!!! ✝
safety tip: this knife is SO SHARP the BACK of the blade is sharp enough to cut. It cuts very cleanly. DO NOT use your finger to get more force on back of the blade or you will slice your fingerprints off... it's surgical, so you wont even notice you're losing your finger. THE BACK IS ALSO SHARP! NO FINGERS NEAR THE STEEL!
Hey morning Josh. Just watched your video on this new knife that you've introduced. Seems to be of pretty high quality steel, but it also looks like the fillet knife looks a little heavy. Tell me just for my accord, how heavy is that knife? I have been in the mix of inventing better knives for fillets. Don't get me wrong, it is a very handsome knife, just isn't what I'd expect in a fillet knife. Love the video Josh, keep on keepin on brother. Til next go round..., tight lines never stop!
Old review I just happened upon, but want to clarify something. The stone on the sheath is NOT for sharpening the knife. It's for sharpening hooks. It will actually dull the blade as it's not suitable for use with the knife.
The line cutter should be able to cut seat belts in an emergency too. From the looks of it if you keep it sharp enough. With the stone attached shouldn’t be an issue. Well thought out regardless.
Cutco may seem gimmicky but they are the best and they really stand by their products. They will replace anything; no matter how long you use and abuse it, no questions asked. So yes, forever
Thanks for the fillet knife introduction one of which I've never seen until now. Can't wait to see you fillet some yummy fish's on a catch-n-cook video. Great job and God bless also Tight Lines 🎣 Taylor family
Hey bro Just came and checked out the video guess the only way to find out is to buy one like your videos man keep up the good content do you ever want to come fishing Louisiana please let me know I would like to meet y’all
i started out with the bubba blade but after two years of fileting fish the tip broke so was like wth so i switched to dexter n i love em!! might have to try what ur wife got you for christmas lol i got to much tackle for myself lol
The stone on there is actually for sharpening your hooks. Cutco comes and sharpens any of your knives, that you own. If you break your knife intentionally they will replace it for 1/2 the price. If you lose it same thing. If it breaks accidentally which is super hard to do. They will replace it for free. They don’t advertise strictly by word of mouth. They’re all made in the USA.. best knives I have ever owned
I have that and their whole range of kitchen gadgets. My daughter worked for them for awhile. Every thing they sell is fantastic and they are good to their word about replacing anything that breaks or goes dull. We've had our for 25+ years. Mike
WORST KNIFE EVER!!! Bought it for a friend, it made it through Four - count em - FOUR fillets. After that it was a dull as a butter knife. Crap quality!!!!
@@Saltyscales No, I'm not a troll. I own two sets of Cutco kitchen knives - one set is 20 years old and apart from sharpening, work flawlessly. I gave the fish knife as a gift to a friend, and I saw with my own eyes it ran dull after filleting a small number of fish. Very upsetting. I will not stoop to your level and trade insults.
Dane Kaylor there are no marketing schemes, I'm not endorsed by Cutco by any means but you will continue to see product reviews and first impressions on my channel.
Funny enough, I have a pair of their older kitchen shears and good lord are they fantastic. I don't think highly of Vector Marketing since they reel in young folks that want to break into "sales" but they do have a few winners for sure.
Dane Kaylor I spoke to one of their reps once, he was a hound. He showed me the demonstration on how he could cut a penny with those sheers, I was impressed but refused to buy because he was pushy.
