Quien en el 2024 que está escuchando esta reliquia. Esto si era música no como lo cancerígeno de hoy!!! Doy gracias a mi padre por haberme enseñado los buenos gustos de los 80!!! YEEES!!!
As a teenaged "metalhead" I had to enjoy this tune behind closed doors. Now that I'm 57, I can freely enjoy this song. 😆The 80's were the best decade to be a teenager in. So much good music.
as a punk in my 30s, plenty of kids when i was a teen in the late 90s/early 2000s were like this for my chemical romance haha. I dont give a shit now, those are good songs, but its funny how these scenes make kids so embarrassed for just liking a song. At least millenials all like this song basically across the board. Cheers
I was 15 years old in 1982 and this was the most killer song!!! I still have my LP after all these years, even though I almost wore it out! The music was so good back then and so was life. 💗
I'd like to apologise to A Flock Of Seagulls for completely ignoring them back in the day and not realising what an absolutely cracking tune this is. I blame the haircuts. Pretty sure this is from West German TV performance. Paul is a great, underrated guitarist.
"I Ran" by far is the best song in My Music Encyclopedia. I was a young teenager in Middle School when it came out and exploded on radio and MTV. I would change my life 4ever, I had never heard music that would reach me from deep within and bring out my melancholy and make me fit in. The most incredible thing happened In 2005. I was at a Devo gig at the House of Blues in LA, as I was having dinner before the show when MIKE SCORE walks right by my table, I immediately stop him to shake his hand, I was in shock to see he was incredibly friendly and humble he is. He looked surprised I recognized him. He wore a cap and had a little blonde ponytail. Told him everything I wrote here. How A Flock Of Seagulls made me fit in. He gave me a friendly smile and pointed at my shirt as he walked away. My shirt had a Devo Dome.
This song reminds me of 1982 when the Milwaukee Brewers lost to the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series. The Brewers lost but I still had the Seagulls. Love this song!!
I walked along the avenue I never thought I'd meet a girl like you Meet a girl like you With auburn hair and tawny eyes The kind of eyes that hypnotize me through Hypnotize me through And I ran, I ran so far away I just ran, I ran all night and day I couldn't get away A cloud appears above your head A beam of light comes shining down on you Shining down on you The cloud is moving nearer still Aurora borealis comes in view Aurora comes in view And I ran, I ran so far away I just ran, I ran all night and day I couldn't get away Reached out a hand to touch your face You're slowly disappearing from my view 'Pearing from my view Reached out a hand to try again I'm floating in a beam of light with you A beam of light with you And I ran, I ran so far away I just ran, I ran all night and day And I ran, I ran so far away I just ran, I couldn't get away
i have adored these fab guys since their beginning , im still hooked , i saw them in Sheffield in the early 80s , when they started playing the floor shook xx Jane x
Why is this tune so great? Because nothing Ever done. Sounds like it. It grows on you. Everytime I hear this song I like even more than before. It has all the ingredients of a Classic winner. There's no chance what so ever I will ever get tired of this tune! I love this tune!
They have reunited in 2018 & 2021 for the Ascension & String Theory albums. Mike likes touring with his hired band. Also, Paul suffered a stroke in early 2020 he's still recovering from and I heard Frank has heart issues (has a pacemaker).
They made it look so easy, yet it was so incredible, I never knew what we had, I did not love this music enough. Forgive me. Dont know what you have, until it is gone.
I was not allowed growing up to listen to the music like this which I loved.Had to sneek everything I loved. My parents to much of the Catholic Church.I am 67 now and I do and listen to whatever I dam feel like it.
If we were shown a picture of how we were going to look like in our fifties........we would have all said, "yeah, that's not going to be me, I'm always gonna look like I look now"....and then life happens.
Where were you in 1982?! Reaganomics, Aids scare running wild. ET the movie playing at a movie theater or drive in near you. 99¢ a gallon gasoline. Yup, remember it well. Now where's my 5¢ a scoop ice cream in a cone or cup at Thrifty's at? No where to be found, a totally different time different people different country different time different world different styles different era different music and this mega hit blasting out of teenager's boom boxes. A dream to think America was once this great. We had it damn great and took it for granted. Never to return.
Er..and a fine innovative British band might have helped how great you felt? ...along with The Cure, Killing Joke Joy Division Siouxsie and the Banshees and the Fall.. message from the Old World across the Atlantic...you dont need an old fake loudmouth Ex president to make you feel great again.
2021 and still listening...80's Baby!..⚡🤘⚡✌..wish the crowd was up and dancing like footloose music video rather than just sitting and clapping...but i guess it's a different crowd..
