@@mikejanesin9053 lol.....what you don't realize is that Mike innovated using sequencers to drive the song, so, a lot of the song was being generated from his keyboard although he was only playing various parts live....and BTW, synthesizers ARE "real" instruments, just as real as a guitar which has to use a multitude of effects pedals to get their sound.
Met Mike Score back in 2000 when he played in the states. Told me this is one of his favorite songs he ever wrote, and that the original was closer to 15 minutes long.
love seeing these old programs and performances, dont make shows like this anymore..thanks for posting..this stuff just makes me remember the fun old days
i love this band!! all their songs are very great!! when paul left the band they made dream come true in 1986, that is a great album!!! its a shame that all the members left the band, when mike reformed AFOS in 1989 AFOS turned in mike only, but in 1995 they made The Light At The End Of The World and i like that album too!! but the original AFOS was and will be the best!!! sorry for my bad english!! :D
Must say that is one of their best performances. Paul is amazing and gets a lot of credit which is spot on but Franks Bass is also very impressive. Brilliant 👏🏻
Hi, thanks so much for uploading this video which has excellent sound and picture. I will always love this song and like this band. This song and The Human League's Don't You Want Me? came at a very happy time in my life where I was succeeding in school academically.
Mike was a hairdresser in Liverpool in the late 70s/ early 80s working with bassist Frank Maudsley. They used to rehearse in the room above the hairdresser shop after it closed for the night.
Thinking feeling my deceased brother commented to hearing his collective music collage embedded in my brain it's a wonderful thing except he's not her existing he's with me always in my mind my heart my soul
It's called an eBow and it's been used by a number of artists. Big Country used it to great effect in a number of songs. It's still on the market, go to ebow.com
I'd like to know what Paiul is using on the guitar at the end of the song to make that sick noise(awesome)...it looks like some kind of silver thing that goes over the string s !
Bass sounds great. Good quality as +omgitsdebbie says below. Not a bad version of this song overall which I generally find puts me to sleep these days. Their other stuff is incredible though.
