Pete that was a cracking job there mate and I really liked the way you set up and did the rim it really sets the bowl of and look lovely. Well done.

Nicely done Pete. The copper powder is a good touch. I think Ruby is correct, maple not poplar. So, the maple syrup is very appropriate. Good job.

See that proves you are not Canadian! If you were then you would know Maple Syrup is ALWAYS appropriate... I am fairly sure it is Poplar, as I got it from a pretty good timber merchant, but as I said on Ruby's comment they do import lots of timber and it could have been mixed up. Definitely not UK sized bug holes though.

I based the poplar on it being greenish in places and the fact it was cut off the end of a plank marked poplar, it came from a local timber merchant that imports all sorts so could have been mixed up.
