This is from when Peter O'Toole , Richard Harris, Peter Finch and Oliver Reed went out drinking and O'toole realized it was his turn to pay the bar tab.
I agree with "Bob" actors today cannot, will not, ever hold a candle to actors such as Peter Oyoole, Richard Harris, Richard Burton, Orson Wells... These were actors in the priest unadulterated (matter of opinion...some adulteration lol) power houses that could deliver a line, a scene, a look, a scream straight.....through....your....heart! Wrap their fingers around (roll the r's for greater effect) your soul and take you to heaven....(pause)...or straight to hell. Love love love them all!!!,"
I think this whole movie is basically an indictment of the whole English health care system at that time. The poor guy honestly needed help, and it wasn’t until too late that people realized it. This movie is all too relatable today, maybe because of the problems it addresses then are unfortunately still relevant now.
😰Oh my heart made that blood curdling screaming sound when I got the news that my poor close friend Slick Lytle (who played a Featured Bearded Biker riding a Sportster Motorcycle in the late legendary George Romero's "Dawn Of The Dead" (1978)) pulled the trigger on himself back on March 28, 2019 & right infront of his 93 year old Father. Slick was only 65. I miss him & think about him everyday. But I'm still not over his death. Nor any of my 6 other friends I lost back in 2019.
That's terrible! So sorry to hear this. I can't believe that no one else commented any sort of consolement to you. This would be shattering to anyone's emotions. Hope you are well.
I would buy that bit of footage, run it with no caption, let it play out until the exterior shot of Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey etc and then overlay the caption: _Peter's Hot Sauce_
hmm , must have sat on a tack....or just discovered that Windows 10 downloaded itself on his computer without his knowledge or permission and now he cant get rid of it
Acutally your implications are very wrong. There is massive sound editing going on in this clip. His voice/scream is edited, looped, overdubbed, layered, and connecting multiple screams and takes to get this sound effect. It's common practice in film and music. You can even see in the video again where he takes a second breath during the take. Yet that take has already been overdubbed, making it more a cinematic effect. So your fanboyish vendetta against CGI or makeup (which he is also wearing) is completely lost. You failed, and a-fuck you!
He acts like he is possessed. As i watched the second half of this movie, i began to wonder if it was a real depiction of serious mental illness. I thought the first half was just silly, not funny at all, and the second half was disturbing starting with the terrorizing attempt to “heal” him. I am still trying to figure out why anyone would call this a comedy, even a dark one. I saw it as a depiction of human suffering. O’Toole was magnificent, hands down.
To be honest, the ending of the movie is far scarier than this. The context is his wife kissed him right before he wiped his mouth with his handkerchief. This was before he got inducted into the House of Lords.
This reminds me of the part in the Godfather when Michael Corleone knew he had to kill those men in front of him for betraying his father. The screaming train rails is the same as jack screaming. In this part of the movie jack knew he had to kill his wife for betraying him and jack was that train screaming on those rails trying to stop himself.
This scene reminds me of when Marvin Silver led Iowa State to victory over Nebraska in 1992. As in this scene has nothing to do with that football game. Same as the Godfather.
At first Jack thinks he's Jesus Christ, yeah, but halfway through, a psychiatrist "cures" him. He becomes straight-laced, strict, and starts answering to "Jack" again. The horrible truth that no one realised? He was just as insane as ever. He thought he was Jack THE RIPPER.
