This was such an interesting episode! I've never heard of el Dia de Reyes. I'll have some great conversation practice to ask my Mexican coworkers if they celebrated this holiday growing up, and what it was like. I didn't grow up Catholic, but I lived for a while in a heavily Catholic area, where Mardi Gras was huge, and the similarities are interesting, epsecially between las roscas and king cakes.

Sigo su podcast desde hace 2 años ya, pero ahora que estoy de regreso a RU-vid, me toca suscribirme aquí también. 😁 Empecé a escuchar su podcast con mi hija para que ella pudiera escuchar bien el español mexicano y no solo el acento gringo que tiene su papá...o sea...yo. 😬 Ahora tengo dos chamacos más junto con ella escuchando su podcast, así que muchísimas gracias por su contenido y aquí estaré pendiente de sus videos. Muchos saludos para los dos...y que viva la hermandad entre Estados Unidos y México 🇺🇲🇲🇽

Mi esposo es de Puerto Rico. Cuando él era un niño, celebraban el día de tres reyes por poner una caja con yerba debajo de la cama para los camellos. La próxima mañana, la caja sería llenado con regalos.

Mientras en México celebramos día de los reyes magos y recuerdo bien tomando mucho tiempo buscando que zapato tenía que era el más grande 😀. En 1971 mudamos de México a los EEUU y celebramos ése día muy diferente. Había una cantidad de casas en un local particular que tenía su propio acceso a la playa privada. Allí toda la gente traía su árbol de Navidad y los quemamos. Realmente los adultos y niños nos divertimos muchísimo.

Tres Reyes: los extranjeros que se quedan en una Villa de departamentos, durante el invierno, tienen una rosca, cada año. Quién encuentra el bebé tiene que comprar la rosca la próxima temporada. Gracias Ana y David.

Hola! Depende de cada familia :) Yo sigo recibiendo regalos de mis padres pero David dejó de recibir como a los 10 años. Creo que 10,11 o 12 es la edad común.
