When word came out that James Horner had died in that small plane crash, the classical music station I listened to stopped their programming to announce his passing....they loved and honored his work that much. Horner is, to this day, one of my most beloved film composers, one of the very last of the greats....losing him was a monumental thing. It hurt, and it hurt deeply. But we still have his gorgeous music. It takes a special, very rare talent to compose great symphonic film music, and Mr Horner had that. Nobody writes film music like that any more. I don't think they can. But I have his work in my collection, with the other greats. God rest you for the beauty you created, dear Mr James Horner. I have never forgotten you. And I never will. ❤
This is the only scene in any movie I've ever seen that brings tears to my eyes. Everything about it, is perfect. The story, the filming, the emotion put into it, the music, the acting. And all without a word being spoken. They nailed it.
especially impressive from young children. Of course the cinematographer got amazing shots and the editor put them together in such a beautiful way. Great work from a team.
Love this scene. Shows the love of someone who is trying to console one who has lost everything. She gave what she could but it was her heart she showed the most and her love. ❤️
2022 and still one of the most emotional and poignant scenes ever captured on film. The intro, showing the shallow breathing of Young Wiliam, speaks volumes of his loss and his grief-stricken heart. This movie .... forever a classic thanks to the gifts of Mel Gibson and James Horner. ❤
I wish Hollywood was still capable of making art like this, they cannot seem to even tell a simple good story anymore, all they do is recycle others ideas and ruin them.
@@deanfirnatine7814 it’s wokeness that killed a good thing. They don’t realize making film is easy. Making great film is very hard. Keep some dvd’s cause these films will get harder and harder to find.
If a legend music crosses with a legend film , that will be an immortal masterpiece... i never forget this film's scenes and its musics. I cannot... Thanks.
As a child actor he was on point.Executed every emotion flawlessly. Then many moons past and I saw him all grown up acting on Outlander. Never lost his touch.
As a Proud Scottish women this film speaks volumes of who us Scott’s really are and there is no others like us . Our country has been through so much for thousands of years and I would happily shade my blood for Scotland . Personally ithink I was born in the wrong time 😂. Anyone watching in the world with a Scottish heritage …. Welcome home 🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴 ALBA CU BRATH
This scene was one of the red letter moments from my youth where the pivotal role of film scoring registered so profoundly with me. In a medium where music often takes a back seat to visuals and dialog, it's exceptionally rare for a score to not only step up and take center stage, but to completely dominate a scene by reaching through the screen to tear the heart from your chest and stomp it into the ground without so much as a spoken word. The music did all the talking. Most films of this (or any) era rarely accomplish such a thing. But James Horner did. In a world of incredible film composers, he stood apart, and will be forever missed. 💔
Don't know why, whenever i watch this scene, i tear up and dollops of them. Am not known to be an emotional person but somehow this simple scene with the haunting score, just makes me cry. Every time! Sometimes this can be embarassing if i am with my kids :-)
The innocence of a child's gesture of emotional support and condolences paired with hauntingly beautiful music. Powerful and priceless. Thank you DayNnite 1243 . RIP James Horner.
This beautiful piece of music just shows how important the score is to a movie. It just adds so much to an already very emotional scene. James Horner was every bit the talent of John Williams and Hans Zimmer. RIP James Horner.
This song is hands down one of the most touching pieces of music ever written. If I ever get married, I want this played as the bride walks down the aisle. It has a kind of pure love vibe, gives me the chills just imagining this scene
What a truly beautiful moment between two souls trying to makes sense of their cicumstances! This melted my heart seeing it again after all these years. Humans can be such Divine and Wonderful creatures...or such evil and wretched devils...I'm sure we are enigmas in all of the universe...even to each other at times. But I want my life (and the world) to be that of Divinity from this moment on! Blessings and love to all my brothers and sisters around the world!
Scotland is not free. Scotland lost to England in The Battle of Pinkie Cleugh on September 10th, 1547. Scotland is the most northern part of The United Kingdom. You may as well call England "Englandistan." It doesn't appear to me that Scotland is incentivized enough to attempt to break free from the UK since their disastrous loss at Pinkie Cleugh.
El amor, la nobleza, la sinceridad, la compasión son cosas que no se encuentran así nada más. Si las personas contribuyeran con cada una de estas cosas el 🌍 sería diferente. ❤️❤️
She nailed this scene, even more than he did. You can see how she's absolutely drawn to him but doesn't understand fully why. Masterful. What a director to pull that out of both of them so beautifully at such a young age.
Apart from the absolutely fabulous music and the Oscar worthy performance of the two young actors, this scene is full of symbolism and represents the whole essence of the movie ... The thistle is the floral emblem of Scotland, and in Celtic symbolism it represents nobility, grace, bravery, endurance, durability, devotion, unity and victory (the main characteristics of the movie hero).
One of the best films ever made , I have watched Braveheart at least over 30 plus , The music Mr Horner Sir, makes the film come to life touches not only the heart but penetrates the soul , You feel every breathe every emotion you are part of it , wonderful Bravo , Bravo to Mel Gibson too. captivating . Love it .
My favorite movie soundtrack! I was thinking of James.About the time i had a great talk with him about music. It was in Tuscan Az. I bumped into him at a hotel. At the Gem - Mineral show. Yes! He was a big time mineral collector. What a special great person! Few months later. I was sittting in a movie theater watching Braveheart. I flipped out over the movie. Biggest fan! Me! When the credits came up on the screen. I was reading who did the sound track. " James Horner" I almost went threw the roof! Had no idea he wrote the soundtrack. R.I.P. James. I honor and thank you for the time i had with you!
...And then years later when he hands it back to her after their horse ride, it takes her a couple seconds to realize what he gave her... beautifully acted and directed. Powerful evocative music... the language we all understand. Btw, This little actress grew up to look just like the woman who played her as an adult... great casting.
Respect from Algeria, the land of martyrs and revolutionaries to all warriors in earth.🇩🇿 Fight for love, for freedom, for honor. Die for something or live for nothing. Freedom or nothing, that's what my ancestors taught me

Que escena más bonita. Me encanta . El niño cuando llora refleja el dolor de la humanidad. Que bonito. Qué ternura. En esta vida dan golpes muy duro. Pero hay que seguir. Que dios os bendiga.
