The world had already entered into a global recession in late 2018. If we could return to the economic situation before the Corona virus, it would be that! The world is absolutely mired in debt, and the only tool the central banks have is pumping mountains of liquidity into the markets, but in the end its simply more debt!

The financial markets, are the real economy, what are you even talking about? If you think you have the answer, then the world would love to know. You could earn a Nobel prize for that. Fiat currency is the money supply. Printing money increases the money supply and is stimulus for the economy (that means it helps recovery). People create bubbles in every asset class as they bid up the price (individuals decide what something is worth so only individuals can resolve bubbles, by not paying more than something is worth.

If you don't have balanced budgets, then you don't have austerity. That is what austerity means: spending less money and paying down debt. No one is doing it. The real austerity is yet to come, probably to be forced on us by circumstances. You only think you have austerity because over indebted economies perform poorly, but reducing the excessive debt will make the pain worse before it gets better.

Unless the VELOCITY of all this money printing is very low (historically) & just sits on bank balance sheets as is the case with most western economies together with negative demographics (except USA), high household, govt & corporate debt & possibly higher debt aversion by households in future (without debt forgiveness).

@@Kawasakifreak1 Only the lender has a moral right to forgive a debt that is owed him. Default is an option, but it comes with consequences, and should come with consequences. Let borrowers (and some reckless lenders) learn from their mistakes. As Herbert Spencer said, To save fools from their folly is to fill the world with fools. And the flip side of that is that to systematically loot the creditors with no consequences to the borrowers means that lenders may be excessively reluctant to lend in the future. Our society was so much more disciplined in the 19th century. I used to assume that was a pure cultural change, but these days I am certain it is driven by a genetic change linked to the depressive effect of education on female fertility.

BTC and ETH both had high costs of exchange recently. They were converting both to XRP to save costs on transfers, then buying back. Does not sound like gold or silver to me. Unless you have an explaination for that.
