Just ran into this and just ordered a pair - as an eyeglass user this looks perfect for watchmaking and other household repair tasks. Thanks! Really like this channel.
they’re good enough and cost effective enough I bought a second pair. They’re good for all sorts of tasks. I also use them when removing splinters from me or others in the house, doing light kit wiring on LEGO, you name it!
Awesome review! Thanks for all this info . I’m looking for something to inspect my plants with . They get flat mites , which I can’t see without a USB microscope. Not sure what the real magnification of my microscope is . But they usually way over exaggerate what the microscopes are. It’s probably 60 x tops . I’m curious if I could use these glasses to see the mites because the usb scope isn’t practical at times . Thank you 😊
Just received mine today from Amazon. Seriously dude, this has got to be the best tool I've bought in ages. Gonna be wearing these a LOT! Thanks for reviewing it!!
I have a newer version. It was around 23 US from aliexpress. It has mounting points for 1 or 2 lens. That allows me to have magnification beyond the single 3.5 lens on the older model. That makes it great for a wide variety of work, like inspecting coins for stamping errors, as well as SMD soldering.
Love my 2 OptiVISORS. 3 and 10 power and also have light attachment. Funny...I also have been known to walk around the house with visor up 👀 Always wondered what visor you used. Now I know Have a special Labor Day weekend.
Thanks for that review. Really helpful. As I wasn’t sure wich way to go.👍 I have 2 loupes a x3 and a x3 x x5= ×15 but I’m missing the 3rd dimension as it’s only one eye. And I’m also wearing glasses. I think I’m gonna pick this one. It should be enough to find the little swan neck screw on my vintage Omega watches. 😎
it really is enough for almost any task. and for someone with glasses, I highly recommend. the nose piece fits nicely behind your glasses, while the lens stays plenty in front.
Thanks for the review. I also wear glasses and always strugeling a bit with loupes. Just purchased the one you recommend. Sorry, didn't use your link. I live in The Netherlands and bought it on the Dutch Amazon for less than $20,00....
I just bought one for soldering for $17 exact same box but different Amazon page. I can tell you haven't used the light. Because it actually uses 3...not 2 AAA batteries. I put in 2 batteries and it didn't work, then realized there is a battery at the bottom also that I didn't see at first.
Can the nose pads be adjusted? I have an extremely narrow nose bridge and have to keep the pads on my glasses very close together. I would have to be able to adjust the pads on those in order to wear them.
the nose pads are on a surface that looks like aluminum, and they could be made more wide, narrow or moved forward and backward if needed with a little bending.
A 1x magnification power is a 100 percent increase in the magnified object's size, in other words…magnified once. For example, a 1-inch object at 1x would appear to be 2 inches. At 2x power, the same object would appear to be 3 inches. Sometimes 1x is all you need, though I don’t use it much. Usually I use the 2.5 or 3.5
