I make rings and such, and these things are beyond baddass. When I'm setting stones less than 2mm, btw those are small...so amazingly awesome. Say I set a stone that's .8mm using the 20x ot 25x makes it super clear and easy to set my stones. Definitely worth 24 bucks. Not just for models, but jewelry making, circuit board work or anything.

I have some of these on the way and decided to look for reviews after ordering. Ass backwards I know :) I need magnification and lighting for my intricate layered nail stamping images. It's difficult for people with good vision to line the images up right over each other so it's damn near impossible for me since I have astigmatism in both eyes. Your review made me so happy and excited to know that these glasses will be a game changer. I found them on ebay for $9.59 too!

Got some of these myself before looking up any video reviews of them and I got to say I was greatly disappointed. I got these under the assumption I'd be able to sit up straight in a chair and still be able to see the fine details of the models at my hand level but instead I have to be bent over and practically glass to model to see anything and I feel that really defeats the purpose of them all together.

I fear I wasn't clear here, as you are right, these are super high magnification- I really use these for super detail like small photo etch. I have another pair I use more on a daily basis, but even those you have to lean in, just not as much. Sorry if I steered you wrong. Still they work really nice for very small stuff...

Yes indeed we are getting on and my eyesight is hopeless and my normal reading glasses don't cut it when I am trying to paint 1:6 scale faces. What looks ok to me, when blown up, looks very different. So I am scouting around for the best option. I think it's worth a like and a subscription because there's bound to be other things in your miniature world that could be useful. I am more often on Instagram so if you ever do 1:6 I have lots of ideas for cheap clothes and props you can DIY. Thanks for this video. Very informative. I did have a pair that looked like those but couldn't change the strength and you had to hold stuff so close to your face and it was impossible to judge where you were putting the paint! These look great. I will try to get some just like these because I can't do eyes at 1:6 any more lol! I subbed and liked btw.

I recently got me a pair of those magnifying glasses (exact ones), and I'm disappointed because I didn't expect to have to hold the item so close. They really don't magnify well unless you're holding them super close. I'm not able to bead while holding anything that close. It just doesn't work. I even looked up your channel, looking to see if maybe I'd missed something and was doing something wrong. If you can give me any advice on what may be the problem, I would be glad to hear it. Although I'm pretty afraid that there not going to work for me 😂.

Sorry to hear they aren't working well for you. Are you using the lowest power insert? I have a lighted hobby pair I also use for more general work. This pair is best for super small stuff like some of the minuscule Photo Etch I deal with.

Same here, I have a similar set (not exactly the same but might as well be) and the focal length is so short I have to have the item I'm looking at about an inch away. These are advertised to be able to read a newspaper but I suppose we live and learn buying stuff made in China.

I have a question. If you are only using one lens. How is your depth perception during fine detail painting? I'm currently using a visor with lenses for both eyes, but looking for something that sits better on my head. These look great, but not sure I could only use one lens. And how are you feeling about them now 5 months later? :) Thanks.
@pauly7218
@pauly7218 5 лет назад
I routinely use these and a dual lens visor - when I use these, yes, I only use one lens on my dominant eye and it's fine. These have such greater magnification, I use them for the really small stuff and the others for more common jobs. Still love and recommend them! Enjoy!
@Stringbean421
@Stringbean421 4 года назад
There's no way I could sit comfortably painting small details on my models with one eye and the other squinted. I can see this option becoming very tiresome and uncomfortable. Just not really practical in my opinion. I've just purchased the normal head-set type of magnifier where I can use both my eyes. Only thing is with these types is that I've read they can become a bit heavy after a while die to the batteries for the LEDs but I'll live with it.
@KipBurbank1

They won’t focus to a central point like binoculars will. Your project is too close to your face/eyes to see the same point.
