For part 2 we are examining the forts of the Banda Sea, of which we are told are built by the Portuguese, Dutch, and English. Also known as the spice islands, these European powerhouses battled over the control of nutmeg and other spices, decimating the Indonesian population in their wake. However I maintain that as always, not all is as it seems. I present more evidence in the form of historical, google earth, and photographic analysis that these structures and sites were found rather than built. Or in some cases we repaired what we could and added our less sophisticated structures. In this episode we look at Fort Victoria, Fort Amsterdam, Fort Duurstede, Fort Nassau, Fort Belgica, and Fort Revenge. I hope you enjoy and find it thought provoking !
