Yesterday, North Carolina’s Republicans selected Mark Robinson, a Holocaust-denier who once described the LGBTQ community as “filth” and denounced the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s, as their pick for governor. Robinson’s Democratic opponent, Attorney General Josh Stein, joins Joy Reid to discuss the upcoming race.

Really, you think a lot of voters are well informed on the Lt. Governor race? North Carolina elected a Democratic governor in 2016 (over a Republican incumbent) and reelected him in 2020, even with the drag of Trump winning the Presidential vote over both Clinton and Biden on the same ballot. Robinson is too extreme to win the governor's race. Voters who don't know who he is are going to find out because there will probably be more ads run in this race than any other governor's race in the country.
