A great night of super late model racing at Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia Georgia on Friday July 1st. The Red Clay Oval team joined in the action when the Ultimate Super Late Model Series came to town. Overall it was a great night of racing for us, at first it looked like rain may bring a delay or even a cancelation to the event but held off long enough for some great racing action. Galen thought the car was good during hot laps so with very little to change it was time for qualifying. After making two great laps during qualifying it would have us starting 12th in the field. We did have starter issues that couldn't be repaired before the feature race. After being push started the #12 super late model fired up and was ready to hit the track. The feature race was 40 laps in length with only one caution flag, Galen did all he could for 40 laps fighting his way up to 9th at one and then settling back to a 11th place finish. Finishing all the laps with no damage and 11th place finish was good for the team.
