Когда я был маленький, мой дедушка на моих глазах запрягал коня в телегу и распрягал. Оглобли, подпруга, хомут, везде применялись разные узлы. Очень жаль, что тогда я не сильно обращал внимание на это , да и был ещё маловат по возрасту. А сейчас почему то есть желание все это познать. Вот этот узел, кажется , применялся в упряжи. Спасибо!
I was a sailor/ deep- helmet diver, on large vessels for 10 years, and used mostly larger lines, or wire cable. For little things, we used 1/4 in nylon, by the spool. I always care for line, and SAW this "hank" on sailboats, and small vessels, but never learned it. * Particularly good to secure lines, on a railing, to dry in the Sun.
There's a big difference between owning a sailboat and sailing a sailboat. I hope you do both. Someone gave me a sailboat because he never used it. I sailed it a lot, for many years but now I just own it too
It looks like an alpine butterfly knot. I think the bight is pulled through is reverse to a traditional AB knot in order to capture the coil. I also think the last wrap around the bight is not quite right. It mirrors the first loop instead of being opposite. Very cool method to capture a coil though.
