Moved to TN and some how got into SCUBA diving. Moved back to Michigan, it's been years since I went fly fishing, hope its like riding bike. Went to Cabela's today and I looked at two Orvis Combo's, the Cabela's Prestige Combo and this one the TVO. I went with this TVO Combo package. All were around $160 to $170 except the TVO was at $229 both the Rod and the Fly real have a lifetime guarantee. The TVO quality appears so much made with better materials and the others had only 60-90 day warranty.
i have 4 of those reels,, but the tfo nxt is made by maxcatch , the maxcatch version is called ' tail ' when i ordered the 4 reels 3- 5/6 weight and one 4 weight.. all the boxes for the 5/6 weight were labeled maxcatch.. the 4 weigh came in a tfo nxt black label box.. same reel bags
Been watching your videos. Not sure you mentioned the two versions I see 5 and 8 weight. Actually not sure what those mean. What version would I be wanting for doing trout fishing in streams and lakes in eastern Sierras here in Ca
Good question! I have another video that describes the differences in weights and will go more in depth for you but you’ll definitely be looking at a 5wt for that type of fishing.
