Bts is the group that got me into kpop in 2016-17 so they hold a really special place in my heart, even if i dont follow their every move nowadays like i do with newer groups i always have to check in once in awhile lol

The information accurate as of May 2022 is for things like the number of awards- they have SO many more now. Jin was discharged from the military yesterday (the rest are still in) and today he did two live events for Army and gifted us with a second verse to a fan-favorite song, an hour of performance, and a 'hug Army' event. He went live to greet us before he even changed out of his uniform. Do you wonder we are loyal to them when they are so loyal to us? English- The members have studied hard and all are fluent in greater or lesser degree now. BTS usually keeps their charity donations private- we only find out if it gets leaked. Most of Army charity projects are things Army comes up with to do in their name.

Alot of the groups you know copied BTS successful innovative marketing strategies.. They freed up kpop, because of how successful they were. It allowed others to be allowed to create their own music. All of Kpop got better, once the money men realised it could benefit them to let their artists have more freedom.
This. BTS did innovative things to reach fans like since day 1 having a Twitter account, film youtube longs were they talk about how they are really feeling, filming behind the scenes, & much more. They did it out of necessity as a small company that was shut out from the conventional means of promotion in kpop like not being about to get on tv shows etc. Now things are changing and newer groups have more opportunities to be involved with making music cuz the other companies want to emulate BTS success.
the company was struggling with money in the beginning they told the members to go home because they couldnt afford it. Suga and the members were like nope. we are staying right here. we have no where else to go. they decided to stick out the difficult times together. thats why BTS bond is so strong and their fan base is so strong . and their relationship with their founder Bang PD is so strong his like a father to them.

Namjoon is down to earth when he needs to be. Or more like pragmatic. But he wears it as a mask and you can see he doesn't feel the most comfortable in it. Namjoon is actually very philosophical and the members have basically said that sometimes he can be clueless about normal things. Genius brain, you know 😆 As for Suga... to a point he is. But he is also a very introverted and emotional person (on the inside) and while he let go of that to a great degree in recent years, he did spend very long time caring quite a bit about what other people thought of him. He's also VERY into music. Like, he is the quiet musical genius who will spend days shut in his studio and sit aside in green rooms so he can write. Not that someone who's passionate about his work can't be down to earth, but Yoongi to me does seem like someone who would shut down the world to be alone with his music. Though it does seem that he relaxed about that too in recent years. So I can definitely see why Jimin would say V is the most down to earth member. From what I've seen, V doesn't care what people think about him, which allows him to be bold and say things that are completely out of the box and also go all out when it comes to visuals. And I think especially to Jimin, V's confidence in being completely himself and not fearing judgement, is an inspiration, because Jimin used to struggle a lot with self-acceptance. However, most of this is my interpretation of what I've seen on screen over the years. And I could be completely wrong, so there's that 😅
Yess, also the background really matters, like Taehyung comes from a family farmer workers who struggled with money, that's why he was raised by his grandparents, his family seems hardworking and very supportive, I guess they are really warm too because Tae has this kind aura, very affectionate towards everyone. I totally get why Jimin would say Tae is the most down to earth and the members really highlight his innocence and pure heart, Tae enjoys small/ordinary things and makes them unique✨️

As everyone is saying, perfect timing. You were talking about age… Jung Kook was actually 13 when he became a trainee. Until June 2023, Korea figures age different than most people. V was 15 when he became a trainee and Jimin was 16, I think. JK was in middle school and JK and Jimin were in high school. So, yes, they were young. You should watch the Ida S video called “BTS talking about Jung Kook”. I’m not sure what all you have reacted to. Hope you have it will react to all seven members solo work plus the group. They all could be solo stars, but choose to stay together. Such an amazing group of young men.
i understand that you know some groups before getting to know bts but most of the things youre comparing other groups to bts are things bts normalized in kpop. like g idle for example theyre 4th gen they came after bts. so bts did that before them. same for the other groups you mentioned like ateez etc its because of bts influence that kpop is the way it is now and the industry had to change in order to continue to get western support because people like you and me dont want to support groups who are mistreated by their labels. so to get people in the west to support kpop groups they had to change the rules and give groups more freedom because that was what made bts successful besides their talents. lyrics and how open and honest they are both in lyrics and in lives, interviews, other contents etc.

Hobi (=Jhope's nickname) become a lucky fan and only met his idol but even got him on a track "Hope on the Street" and even in the Musik Video...also Shortly when bts debuted and J Cole released "Born Sinner" and BTS made a cover with their own lyircs called "Born Singer" (before the Proof Album it used to be a song only on their SoundCloud and they performed the song 2 times before (2015 and once 2017 during their concert) but with the Proof Album release they got the permission from JCole to release it officially on their Album... you're kinda right, being a visual is more about getting the attention towards the group, the visual position is important for ads, mv, photos, etc... all the visual arts yk? But people often are mean with visual Kpop Idols because they think it's a useless position and use that to make them seem untalented, which is not true moat of the times, V is worldwide known for his visuals and he's an AMAZING vocalist and dancer. @user-qd5gr8ql2w Because Jin is the protagonist of the Bangtan Universe, I totally agree about V and Jin getting least lines and I know in Not Today they didn't give a proper space for Jin in the MV, but Jin does have a job as the visual member of the team and it's important, it's also really great because he's a major film actor, I love that he gets the attention in the BU content (almost the entire discography). Taehyung since the beginning was picked up by the media as the visual and who grabs the attention, that's why his position as visual member is HEAVY, he's called Idols Of Idols, Trendsetter, Most Handsome Man in the world, etc etc to me, those are heavy names in his shoulders. J Hope is a huge fan of J Cole. He grew up listening to his music. They met at Lollapalooza in Chicago. Cole asked Hobi some questions about his music and only a true fan would know the answer. We all make choices in life, like trade offs. JK was 13 too when he became a trainee. Debuted when he was 15. Once you are born, the grind has begun. The Western world also starts the children young, eg MJ, Janet Jackson, Drew Barrymore, Ariana Grande etc. It’s not just SK
This. People seem to forget others that start young athletes like Olympians for example start at an early age generally Gymnastics, Figure Skating, etc or Football stars start young training hard. I don't know why but in the US people seem to have this idea that stars especially musicians like pop stars aren't "manufactured" as they like to deem kpop to be when in reality they are getting vocal lessons and training to become singers by their labels for the moment the sign a contract. The US likes to give the illusion things are more "free" here or "authentic" or "organic" compared to other countries sadly labels can get away with a lot here without people not even knowing how the industry works here (unless you are in it) or openly judging it but as soon as you mention Kpop they think it's all fake by comparison lol. It's crazy cuz BTS are an anomaly in the kpop industry but still receive all the stereotypes thrown at them.
Actually being a visual is not like you think like always in the center, center in mv. Sometimes, all army know this but Jin always have small parts or don't have long part of their songs, but he still get a spot light. All members have equally especially getting a spotlight like who's gonna be in the middle or center, they make sure that all members have spotlight. I feel so sad that in their song dynamite, Jin don't have much screen time but in their other version of Dynamite which is a B-side (this version is more like other clips that they don't put in their offcial mv of dynamite like bloopers) In b-side of dynamite im so happy that they get jin a more screentime. I start being a army like in 2020 middle of pandemic. because i heard their song in the tv, i lived in Philippines. I saw many youtubers reacting to bts but im very curious, so thr first mv i watch is their song is Boy with Luv and the first member i notice is Suga. So i start stan them and know about them. The new guide is called "a long and helpful guide to bts (2024)" and it's really good. I don't understand why more ppl aren't recommending it. It has all the latest info. You are correct, that J-Hope was inspired by J. Cole, and in fact they met each other at Lollapalooza 2022, where each of them performed their own shows. He was able to tell J. Cole that he was his Muse, and they made a collaboration together later called Hope On The Street. It was J-Hope’s “see you later”song dedicated to ARMY Just prior to his enlisting in the South Korean Army. Also, yes BTS has lore they call the Bangtan Universe, or the BU for short. It is a series of stories , themes, art, literature, and concepts which run throughout a good portion of their songs, lyrics, MVs , content, games, a Webtoon, and other things created by the group. It is pretty involved, and there is a lot of theory which ARMY has studied pertaining to their messages.
I didn't know that about the beginnings of KPOP being from the government, but I could see that. Today, more than 90% of KPOP still aren't allowed to or choose not to participate in the creative process. But BTS has done that since before debut. Not only that, but most KPOP groups aren't even made up of Koreans. They bring in singers and dancers from all over the world who can speak English. While BTS members are all Korean and only RM speaks English fluently. They get labeled KPOP but have literally tried to break down that limited view since the beginning and break down the ideas that IDOLS have to be perfect. I like the way you think of them differently than most since you haven't really seen them yet. The way you pause when you need and comment as you need, and your comments are insightful and pertinent. I really enjoyed your reaction! Please keep an open mind, because they can do Uber Pop but they can equally go Uber raw and dark. They started as HipHop and added the vocals and choreo of KPOP at a time when that wasn't really done. As a result they were shunned by both the HipHop World (who considered them sell outs and falsely assumed they wouldn't be creating their own content) and the KPOP world (who considered them too free and non-conformists to the strict Idol standards). The KPOP world literally tried to keep them down for 10 years (well really still do) by keeping them out of media and broadcasts and even off of the Korean search engine. This is why a lot of Korean's never even got to hear their music. As a result, BTS just said screw it, we'll do our own thing. And they did and they did so well now KPOP industry tries to emulate them. I think to Jungkook, actually going and spending time with fans is his stress relief. LOL But in general, I do think most artists and idols would have to consider it effort, right? It is impressive how much time they devote to ARMY, especially JK. Him singing live and taking requests and doing karaoke with us for hours in his living room, is pretty epic. The best thing about BTS, imo, is their versatility. They are always changing styles, flows, and genres. Seriously no genre is off limits. As a group and in their solo ventures, the versatility of each member is seriously impressive from one album to the next and even within albums. RM's new release, for instance, is a full on indie mix of sounds. Yet he is one of the best rappers in the world. They aren't afraid to change things up and don't care what label people put on them, because they just do their thing. Hope you enjoy the journey. I would suggest to watch the video about BTS done by purple snow although Taylor Marie did a really good job purple snows video is longer much more informative and is more up-to-date as to what has happened since they all went on Hiatus and went into the military

Army got BTS where they are at today, BTS got by themselves with Army to where they are today. other groups part of SM, JYP etc had money and a powerful company behind them when they started. they got the promotions from media etc that BTS did not have. so Army and BTS have a super close relationship. we support them 100% and they show us that they love us and are aware that we are their back bone, their best friends, and their cheerleaders. there is no stronger more dedicated fan base than Army

BTS is beyond K pop. and not for nothing but black pink in the same sentence as BTS no comparison. BTS paved the way for K pop or else k pop would only be a niche thing like they were before. without BTS k pop would not be anything. and BTS def built Hybe. through their blood sweat and tears that company was built. BTS music label is still Big Hit music. Hybe handles the business aspect Big Hit music handles the music aspect. please dont throw k pop around all the time. K pop only became a big thing after BTS. the government uses BTS for their own agenda.
I think only BtS became big and right now kpop sort of rode the BTS wave and now that BTS is not here per se, kpop got smaller and niche again. Kpop has always been niche. Not really mainstream. Only BtS became huge and mainstream.
Agreed. There have been several Korean outlets writing about the financial side & the dwindling global popularity of kpop as a whole since BTS left, now they are hoping BTS will comeback to "save kpop". But that's not their responsibility especially when other kpop companies have been trying to destroy BTS for years now, you can't have it both ways yet they've been getting away with it still. BTS is huge not kpop as a whole but the mediaplay is very good about fooling the public. Sadly like this guy even said in the video first group that comes to mind when you say Kpop is BTS to the gp BTS=Kpop the media also pushes that idea crediting Kpop as a whole for BTS' accomplishments and it's only been BTS. I have very conflicted feelings about the Kpop label for BTS, the guys don't care embracing it but as an army it's difficult cuz they are such an anomaly & boundary pushing in innovation and as artists they don't fit inside the kpop sphere in reality. And the kpop industry mostly rejected them actively trying to bring BTS down. But I also wont deny the kpop side as that is what they trained for it's very tricky but I like to think of it like this a Venn diagram: BTS is a large circle & inside that large circle is a small circle 1/10th it's size that's kpop, kpop is a very small part of what makes up BTS but they are much more. Now the western music industry like streaming services etc are using the kpop label to other BTS, box them in & segregate them from western artists, they don't want BTS or it's members to be mainstream in the west and actively work against them.

Umm just a reminder but if u know them like if u remember their names and face, u should know about their Fictional storyline, some kpop groups has storyline, btw this is just a Fictional made my their company bighit entertainment. Their fictional storyline is called BTS Universe or BTS Storyline, the story was run through their Music video, Webtoon, books. They also had Kdrama called Begins≠Youth not the actual members are in the series but they have Other korean Actors who played as bts members. I luv how the actors get the members humor like how each bts members talk, eat, walk, humor like anything. All other actors do great and they are amazing actors. If u want to know more about bts storyline you should react to their mv and also react to the Explanation/summary video of the storyline.

most of the time the visual and center position goes together but in bts jin and v are the visuals and jungkook is the center he's almost always in the middle
