Becca, I was never into home decor until I was diagnosed with MS. Before, we styled the home when we moved in and that was almost exactly the way it was when we moved out. Now, I am disabled and pretty much only leave for medical appointments. Home design boosted my sanity. Learning, growing experience and collecting as I narrowed down my style has kept my mind engaged and challenged. I love your videos because they are all about learning instead of selling product. At first I would think, okay they say that is the vase I need. The first “Look” I was exposed to was Farmhouse. I liked the cozy feel of it. Did I ever get tired of everything being chippy, enameled or galvanized? VERY QUICKLY! Every single item eventually went to my mother’s garage sales. Now, I am trying to curate timeless things that I actually love. Now, much thanks to advice learned by those like you, I realize that I need to “find” each item over time and with purpose. Your Suggestion” today of ; Can it be used or styled in multiple ways and rooms has worth beyond measure. I look forward and appreciate the advice you give with every video. Thank you!

Wow! What a story. I'm so happy that you've found joy in interior design! Also, we've all been there! Following trends instead of our own taste. Especially in the beginning. It takes time to know what you truly love. But it sounds like you were self-aware enough to identify it quite quickly, most people never do! So, brava! Thank you for such an encouraging comment, and thank you for sharing your story 😊

Hi Becca, I really enjoy your vlogs because: You are very informative and knowledgeable, and real. I have learned a lot from your vlogs. You have a tone/voice of a professional, very pleasant to listen to. I also enjoy the slight sense of humor you have in your vlogs. 😆. (and yes I do tend to purchase things from social media they do influence me) So thanks for making me aware of that. ❤

A tip I use for shopping online and on apps is utilising bookmarks and wish lists. If you see something you love and instantly want to get, either bookmark it or put it on a wish list. I will tell myself that if I still want that item in 24 hours I will buy it. Usually what happens is that I forget about most of the items and the one that I am still thinking about I tend to wait even longer and truly take the time to think about the purchase. The latest purchase I did this for was for a large rug for my living room and I still love it after 4 months of owning it.

It's true I used to train salespeople, and that's exactly right, the best way to make a better sale is for the person not to feel like they are being sold to. Great video as always!

I hit like the second I heard, "run don't walk"....I've grown to hate that expression. I feel it's such used car salesman and dislike when ppl try to push me towards a purchase. You nailed it. 😊

Hey Becca, I’m grateful to have stumbled upon your channel. Girl, you stand out from others! Keep that up. I’m not sure you follow a certain method for this, but your videos are truly engaging- maybe your content or delivery, but there’s something that hooks me up, or it’s the fact that you’re YOU. Additionally, one important point I would appreciate about your video is ‘Non- DISTRACTION’. So what other channels do, they do voiceover with a luxurious and well put together house in their videos, and while watching that content is secondary but achieving the same gets into the mind(especially in my case) while watching. Great girl!

I think we should start calling "influencers" salespeople because that's exactly what they are. Nothing wrong with it unless you're slimy, I work in sales. But really good tips, especially asking if you actually like it.

Rubbing alcohol to clean your couch is a MIRACLE! I heard it from Clutterbug and thought, "Oh come on, no way will that work" and I was so wrong. It cleans it like a DREAM! Also, I eat all my meals on my couch, so I 1) bought a couch with thick level arms to put drinks on, and 2) had it sprayed (like Scotch-Guard). Spills happen, so set yourself up for success if you're a couch-meal-eater!

That’s a great tip! Problem with mine is that it’s down and dry clean only. Which I didn’t know and took a little green machine to it once and now it has permanent water spots allll over it 😔 I’ll get a white couch again probably but just one that isn’t dry clean only. It’s a pain lol.

@@rebeccasplace lol. Is a "dresser" in the US what we call a dressing table in the UK? i.e. you sit in your boudoir at the "dresser" mirror and there's drawers each side and perfumes, hairbrushes etc. on the top? I have one tip for furniture that helps me decide. - I think of the budget and want as cheap as possible, and I'll look at ads and ebay and thrift shops, etc. every day till I get what I'm after. Look hard enough and IT COMES TO YOU. Got myself a new (old) dressing table "dresser" with triple mirror and louis style legs for £15 last month. The wood is so gorgeous I'm not even going to paint it. The following week I found a perfect, padded velvet boudoir stool to match for £3. It's the decor I can't decide on now because I like everything. What's that paint shade in your video behind you? I want that now, lol.

I never buy white even oat is kinda iffy i have kids in my family and construction workers and loggers in my house and glass is just not feasible because of kids and cleaning . I used to buy things on a whim that I liked and then a month later I was finding I didn’t like them as much as I did when I purchased them so now I’m more conscious about my purchases. I only buy unless I extremely love it and it fits my house not because I like it, sometimes I might even hold off a month or two maybe longer so I’m not having a garage sale❤👍

This one girl I like she started promoting things. She always talks about how frugile she is and calla herself cheap. She only thrifts but she'll promote you bedding that's over $200, or another item that's over $200 sponsored video. I want to ask if this wasn't given to you, would you still purchase this? I personally will spend a little if something is what I want or the quality is there. It's just the stuff she is promoting is expensive for her decorating on a dime. I guess it doesn't feel sincere but a sales pitch.
