In this video, we focus on installing PVC Corner Trimboards. Whether you're a seasoned contractor or a DIY enthusiast, we've got you covered. For this project, you'll need Royal one-by-three-and-a-half-inch or one-by-five-and-a-half-inch trim and molding products.
The steps are straightforward:
- Determine your trim board length, ensuring it starts one-eighth inch below the eave and at least a quarter inch below the edge of the sheathing.
- Create an L-shaped corner construction by applying pipe cement and joining the trim boards.
- Secure the corners using 15-gauge finish nails, every 16 inches, and counter-sink each nail.
- Add the L-shaped corner trim to your house, maintaining a one-eighth inch gap below the eave for expansion and contraction.
- Secure your L-shaped corner with three-and-a-half-inch exterior screws, every 16 inches, and counter-sink them about one-eighth inch.
- Complete the project by adding cladding drip edges and other trim components as per the manufacturer's instructions.
With attention to detail, fill in the nail holes with all-purpose painter's putty and caulk along the cladding, following the siding manufacturer's guidance. Paint your corner trim to your desired finish.
