Absolutley.why can't it be taught in schools, the majority of the US would benefit, but should also adapt to areas were Cuban and Puerto Rican are more previlant.
@@thekaraokelady5182 I used to want to learn Japanese, but now I’m just learning languages I might actually have a chance in improving in, or might need to learn/a language apart of my culture. Which is why I’m learning: Kouri Vini, Spanish, & Possibly Russian
I'm also learning the Mexican accent as that's where my fam originates from! Thanks for this video, especially the RU-vidrs section -- I've been looking for Mexican youtubers but didn't know how to start my search!
I've been using Complete Spanish Step-By-Step by McGraw Hill (second edition). It explains certain words used only in Spain and other words used in Latin America. It's been great for learning how Spanish grammar works, and it's also a workbook.
Gracias por este video! Estoy aprendiendo más español solamente por qué no lo puedo hablar tan bien. Y soy mexicana también pero nase en los Estados Unidos. Quiero aprender más palabras y esto me ayuda mucho! 🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽✨
Mextalki and Spanish Playground are both super helpful for learning Mexican Spanish. Also Spring Spanish and Dreaming Spanish (comprehensible input from super beginner to advanced) has some Mexican teachers on them and have excellent content for learning Spanish in general. It’s nice to see see all the Mexican in the comments that are learning Spanish-it makes me feel not as alone. Loved your video!! Thank you!❤️
As a Japanese person growing up in Japan and learned English only at school in Japan as a foreign language, aaand learning Spanish now as the second foreign language, I really appreciate your content It's very fun and clear to understand for me. And also I really like your voice and how you express in your words😊 Thank you for your videos!
It's so nice to see some appreciation for Mexican culture, especially from what I consider an unexpected place (Japan!). Your accent is great, and wish you the best.
This is just what I was looking for! I am Colombian but doing a service trip to Mexico in January and want to brush up on specifically Mexican Spanish and slang :) thanks for this!
Hi Emi! I just wanted to say thank you for your recommendations! The input I've gotten from the podcasts and youtubers you recommended has made an ENORMOUS impact in my vocabulary acquisition and my ability to comprehend native speakers. Thank you recommending some native content that is more clearly and slowly spoken. PLUS I can't say enough good things about Language Transfer. It's all helped me to surpass the stage I had quit at in the past. Being at the stage where I can enjoy content makes the process way more enjoyable.
Emi! Thank you so much. A German here, looking for Mexican Spanish material in an English video out of Japan xD This is EXACTLY the information I was struggling to find. It's really hard to find latin youtubers when you don't know what you're looking for and most of the time, the things recommended to me were literally only the biggest channels who talk in 1.5 speed (at least it feels like it, like you said) :D Thanks so much. You made my life a lot easier and I'll be sure to check out your recommendations.
Lmao @8:05 that is a perfect way of describing me. I just might steal that description 😂 Thank you so much for the mention. I didnt even know that was a thing on RU-vid.
This video was SO helpful. I learned (somee) French and it took me like 2-3 months to acquire this amount of information. This was an awesome way to just get right into lots of awesome content. Thanks for posting this!
i’m trying to learn spanish cause i have many family that lives in mexico. my grandparents didn’t want me to speak spanish so i grew up knowing only english. All my friends speak both languages and they’d always be shocked when i told them i didn’t speak spanish. i’m ready to learn :)
I recently started watching Alex Tienda (specifically his North Korea series)... he's a Mexican travel vlogger, and I feel like he's a little easier to understand... at least in the five videos I've seen so far.
Emi you're such a gem! I found one of your videos a while ago, and as an American living in Mexico, I appreciate all of your content, especially this one! I am so impressed with your dedication to learning a new language so quickly!
Hi, I've just started learning Spanish and found your channel and it's so fun 😭 I'm also half-Japanese and speak English and Japanese idk it feels cool to find somebody in the same boat. I found this video really helpful thank you!!
I was born n raised in SoCal in a Mexican neighborhood and my native language (Tagalog) has a lot of Spanish so I know a lot of random words and phrases but it’s difficult to work when you don’t know at least intermediate Spanish 😭 all of the jobs I’ve had had mostly ONLY Spanish-speaking coworkers (as I’m typing I’m at work 😅) so hopefully I can learn as much as I can to make it easier for me and them to work together
Thanks so much for the recommendations ! I started listening to an episose of Creativo with Caloncho and holy molly that was humbling haha. You know when you're at a café minding your business and there are people around you having a conversation but you're focused on something else and it just kinda becomes this mushy stream of words that vaguely sounds english but you just hear it go by and you only pick up on a few words that stand out here and there ? That's how that interview sounded to me haha, so much for me proudly thinking I was at a comfortable B2 level xD Also, I like how there's a lot more room for experimenting when it comes to RU-vidrs in your target language, as in there are quite a few that I wouldn't be interested by if they created content in english, but just the mere fact that they're in spanish and are easy to understand makes me have a lot more good will and have less room for boredom since I'm just busy understanding what the hell they're saying haha
Ay I cut it out from the video bc it was getting too long, but i definitely feel you bc can’t understand a lot either😂😅 I listen to a 2 hour episode in the course of 1-2 weeks bc my brain can’t take in such rapid Spanish hahahaha Agree about the RU-vidr thing too!hahahah
I 100% related with Luisito being easy to understand! No había escuchado los demás, así que voy a verlos, gracias por las recomendaciones. Pensé que podría escribir algo en español :) And some mexican slang I learned just recently: eres la mera mera
@@emigrace i think mero is used in other ways too, but "el mero mero" is like "the boss" kind of like "head honcho" like literally the person in charge, or also like the very best, or one and only
Thanks for the video. It was very helpful for this gringo living en Mexico. I am a missionary living with my wife and two boys in Sonora Mexico. There are so many English speaking people who want to learn Spanish but struggle to get fluent. My hope is this year I will be fluent.
A lot of the podcasts you mentioned are guys. If you want to hear more of the mexican female point of view, and you want to widen your vocabulary more and are interested in self development, psychology, and literature then i highly recommend Se Regalan Dudas. I dont know if they’re from Monterrey but im pretty sure they’re from Northern Mexico. They also have a book club and they do episodes where they interview other famous women from Mexico and talk about pop culture, dating, therapy, philosophy, etc.
I bought Destinos many years ago and I like it but haven’t really concentrated on using it. I’ve heard someone else also recommend it. There’s full playlists on RU-vid for the textbook and workbook
My Spanish is so bad that I get anxiety when I have to translate a word or phrase to friends, and when I have to speak with my family. I’ve been looking for a good podcast but I’m bad at searching. Thank you for the vid ❤
Thank you thank you emi.ive wished for forever someone would teach Mexican Spanish. I'm non Hispanic and was being taught by neighbors , when I was in my early 20s, and progressing well, able to speak some at work, telephone.i had done Avon for a little while , had the catalogs in spanish.then ended up moving to the east coast where it was mostly potugese and Puerto Rican Spanish, felt lost, and discontinued speaking Spanish, so you can understand how excited I am. Thank you
thank you so much for these videos. I am going to Mexico for an abroad year next year through an exchange program and I am trying to learn Mexican Spanish to a decent level where I can improve once I get there
Growing up in a hispanic household, for the sake of getting by in school easily in a racist town before moving to where I am now. I'm trying to relearn what I've lost as I'm learning other languages, using whatever I can! Especially with the help of my own family :)
Thankyou for this!! So helpful on my Spanish journey! Also, have you considered adding Japanese content on your channel?? I want to learn Japanese after I get a good grip on Spanish, and would love more content and think that you would be so good at it!!
I had an idea while emi was talking about fast speakers. RU-vid allows you to slow down the playback speed. So you can convert any fast-talking RU-vid channel into a slow-talking RU-vid channel. I'll have to try it out.
i am spaniard filipino but i live in america (and consider myself more american than either of those lol) so im going to learn the mexican dialect first, but im having struggles with finding the right resources for mexican spanish so tysm for this video
I’m born and raised in the states (Bay Area, California) and I’m one of the few in my family who can’t speak Spanish. I’m Mexican and a little Irish, but I just struggle very much grasping it. My pronunciation is just fine, you’d think I’m fluent. As for English, it’s my only language so I’m perfect there. And the grammatical structures don’t exactly match up between the two languages. I feel like that’s what makes learning Spanish so difficult for me. If only I could download it into my own head 😂
Yesssss I love Mexican Spanish. So clear and easy to pick up. I also like the way Dominican Spanish sounds but it’s hard af lol. Spaniard Spanish sounds triggers me lmao I can not watch shows from Spain lol
Do you know any Mexican creators who make true crime or paranormal/scary content? Or maybe story times? I think that would be a fun way to learn Mexican Spanish. 😌
There's a RU-vid channel called "relatos de la noche" it's about real horrorstories from people all over mexico I recommend you that channel if you wanna practice Spanish besides the storyteller speaks slow and so calming so it's perfect for bed time. ;^)
Check out this RU-vid channel "relatos del lado oscuro".It's about paranormal sttories based on real events. The narrator is Mexican, sothat'll be helpful for you.I'm sure you'll like it.
ay eres japonés!:) estoy estudiando el español porque me encanta el idioma, y porque tengo una amiga mexicana. tengo un vídeo que se llama “channel introduction” y expliqué más!
