i built him recently, but i found myself not casting him before the end of the game(i mostly play paper duel commander), i just either win before i cast him, or get wrecked while hoping to cast him and take the game back. So now i swap between him and Kess, Dissident mage, because at half the cost, i get a commander that lets me recycle my loot/reanimation spells(imagine hitting a double reanimate and getting out 2/3 or even 4 creatures in one turn, depending on the combination). In a faster paced format like duel, she feels way better, but i do like to cast big spells.
One of my favorite reanimation targets, while not very strong, I'm rather attached to it, is Sphinx of Uthuun. A big sphinx that fact or fictions, drawing you a few cards and filling up your graveyard more. I think it's fun
I actually run Kederekt Leviathan in my Sidisi reanimator deck as a janky creature version of cyclonic rift and I never thought of using enchantment reanimation on it! Somehow I only ever thought to actually pay full price for its unearth cost. That's very clever and I'm even already running it!
I've really enjoyed a reanimation theme with Dihada. Even when you don't get a good tempo play you have the selection and mana to just hardcast these cards on turn 4 or 5
I also have this deck. It also makes the deck a little more unique having to (atleast in my case) only go for legendary targets and not spells like Archon of Cruelty which are in my opinion quite boring.
I'm brewing this, any tips? Her - 3 is so good it's kinda crazy. Had a game in which she was killed 3 times but idc, got to - 3 3 times. I've chosen legendary targets that do damage like Piru, Kaervek and Drakuseth so I can pull ahead in life total with Dihada's +2. Then lots of looting/mill and a 3cmc reanimation suite to get stuff like Priest of Fell Rites, Apprentice Necromancer, Animate Dead
For sure. Make sure to not be to scared of slotting in non legendary noncreature cards. If its not something you'd take over a treasure you aren't losing out. I dont actually run many 3 drops because as you mentioned killing Diana is somewhat beneficial despite how good she is at keeping herself alive. Flicker is a fun card too
I have a basic one in the works that focuses are Kokusho, the evening star and Junji, the midnight sky. Trying to take advantage of their death effects.
I have a mono-black chainer reanimator deck and Angel of Suffering is a fun mill effect that I use instead of tutors. My opponents must not play against reanimators a lot because they still swing into me and it just turns that damage into filling my graveyard for me
I've been playing Chainer, Dementia Master for a while now, my favorite two reanimation targets are Gray Merchant of Asphodel and K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth. If I can get Gray Merchant of Asphodel, K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth and any creature based sacrifice outlet into my graveyard with three mana open I can win the game on the spot.
Red has balefire dragon. Speaking from a rakdos perspective and a rakdos commander (chainer nightmare adapt) discard to chainer cast bale fire it has haste smack face kill95% of opponents creatures
I don't have a reanimator style deck right but I i wanted to build one and it's going to be either Chainer, Nightmare Adept or Nethroi. Apex of Death. Chainer seems straightforward - rummage /loot cards into bin to replay other. Nethroi on the other hand will probably be self mill and ramp with creatures and then mutate onto them to get the dudes onto the battlefield.
Both are good options for sure! I think chainer is better if you want to rush out one big thing while Nethroi always felt a bit more wombo combo. Not even if you go infinite but just needing more set up to pop off!
@@sheoldred7177 hey sorry for the late reply, I had actually changed my reanimate commander over to henzie and don’t have my old Sedris deck list anymore sadly
I’m working on a gix deck rn with a Reanimator sub theme but im still deciding if I want to keep gix as my commander or find another multicolored creature and put gix in the deck as a cornerstone
I've been working on Sheoldred, Whispering One reanimator/aristocrats deck for a while now, and man there's so much goodstuff it's hard to get it to where i'm happy with it. Trying to get the balance of good targets, decent early game, and board control stuff hurts a lot lol
I will take some advices to make my Kaalia of the vast better. Its a little hard, cause Kaalia its a big target for removals but now i have more ideas.
Funny that you say that, because that's exactly what I was here for as well. Kaalia was my first commander 6 years ago, and coming back to her now, reanimator seems like the best way to make her still function in higher levels of play because it lets her deck function without her actually being out. If she can hit the board and stay, you can form hard offensive pushes, but it lets her keep up even when you can't get her to stick.
@@lightshadow3683 Here for the same thing. I initially thought of just making reanimation a small package, but then i feared that would just be inconsistent and clog the deck. I have to find the balance between loot, entombs, reanimation, payoffs, and protection.
So i am trying to make an reanimator angel tribal, but with karador as commander, but i am having trouble with it since its *angel tribal* xD, would be fun if it would work
Right now i have a tasigur reanimation deck, i really wanna put toxrill in the deck, but i am no sure how many reanimation targets i need to have in the deck
It depends how many self mill or entomb effects or looting effects you have. Sadly I can’t give a definitive number you are going to have to just test it out!
So the best reanimation targets are those that don't require you to attack or deal damage. Like Jin-Gitaxus. You get the value right at your end step and it's very powerful often game winning early game. In green you have the origional Vorinclex, in black you have razaketh which can win if you have any other creature on board, in white you have elesh norn or avacyn which are great. In mono red what reanimation threat does that? There really isn't one. Not that red is bad for reanimator nor that there are no good reanimation targets but when compared to the other colors red lags behind. @@DousedFireball13
6 months late, but I love my dimir sacrifice reanimator, led by Zellix, Sanity Flayer and Agent of the Iron Throne. Zellix mills cards into my yard, makes tokens to feed to Champion of Stray Souls, and Agent of the Iron Throne puts a clock on the table. Super fun engine deck.
