this is the problem. I've been fencing and doing HEMA for a long time, but i suck in this game because i don't have the space to use any form of footwork and if the AI decides to walk to the left or right I have to rotate my character to face them again so i don't run into a wall xD. Still love the game though, i just wish the ai was more aggressive because i don't have the space to chase them

@@plebeian3671 I also dont have enough space, so I'm working with the space I have, just wish I could run around freely.

@@plebeian3671 if you want the AI to be more aggressive use the enhanced difficulty mod, it actually changes enemies attacks and chance to attack so they aren't running away constantly

maybe just pick up saber fencing like myself

that is the biggest compliment i've received in terms of this game and im incredibly appreciative of the kind words. grappling can be pretty tricky and odd because you cant wrap your arms around them (theres also no grab points on the hips) and bring them to the ground since i dont think your character can collide with the enemies unless its your hands or weapons. low stances can be used, i dont use them much and they can be difficult to pull off because sometimes the AI walks into you so your weapon gets stuck somewhere where you cant really go against their weapon. low stances can be used with a bit of luck and false edge attacks do work really well id say, they always feel really rewarding when you pull them off because it keeps the realism together a bit more. once again thank you for the kind words, overall, most real techniques dont work as well in game but they can still be done. i hope this could help inform you more about this games capabilities

i take a lot of inspiration from real life sword fighting style type things but no i have not done fencing i would love to try HEMA though

I definitely really agree with this, having a weapon with a wider ''area of influence'' really helps to protect your body without putting any stress on you. I'm thankful for the kind words : )

Fun fact: It is pretty historically accurate to dual wield a Dagger and shortsword, blah blah blah.

i like using daggers to block but sometimes i use it to stab legs to make them fall down

it would certainly be quite refreshing to have more difficult enemies, i dont think theyll be changing animations further after 1.0 but i heard that if they do make another game it would be with like an improved engine which would make it easier to just kind of do stuff idk im not a coding person type thing but i do agree that it would be amazing if they did something like that

I haven’t played much either but if there aren’t already I think enemies that use spears would be pretty hard to deal with

@@why8298 the ai at the moment isn't really good enough for it to use polearms or 2handed weapons very well but I would love to see warpfrog try and include that in their next game (if it's another blade and sorcery type thing) because it would make you fight certain enemies differently

that is a fair point. ive found that was an issue id have more on the quest 2 (rarely on pcvr) but its something that we cant really do much about so we just hope Warpfrog notices this and tries to help improve it some way so its more consistent

@@Yan_- I believe it's an intentional thing unfortunately. I know loading tips allude to the idea of being slower with attacks atleast.

could you explain what you mean?

@@Yan_- the whole POINT of a dagger is that it’s a very short weapon so keeping away from your opponent while wielding it means you can’t reach them.

@@GAMER32231 managing distance is about keeping a safe distance away from an opponent, this would suggest that if you are able to get up closer to an opponent to where they cannot effectively hit you with a sword or blunt object then you can reach them, I hope that was put simply enough to understand

it can be pretty annoying but you need to press trigger then grip a few times until it ends up grabbing it

@@Yan_- which trigger?? I literally press every button lol and it does nothing.

@@Nokzgaga the trigger is the front one you press with your index finger and the grip is the one under that which you press with the middle finger

im glad you think so, im not quite sure how but i think a lot of it comes from using realistic guards and simulating some of the weight with the weapons everyone has their own fighting style though and theres no wrong way to fight with swords as long as youre having fun

there are positives to both with a cable you may get better performance, you wont need internet to play pcvr games, but youd have a cable connected to your headset which can get tangled and just be a hassle to work with ive found that airlink has a pretty good connection (it may depend on your internet), it requires internet to use, and theres no need to use a cable so youll be able to feel more free and not have to worry about getting cables tangled im no expert though so if you are able to you should try both options and see which one works best for you but id still recommend airlink

its something you can only do on the pcvr version of Blade and Sorcery on the pc screen. its one of the main reasons i switched to pcvr and i may make a video on how to do it if enough people ask for it

@@Bravo6141 On an oculus quest (nomad) not possible. On PCVR, just hit F2 on the flatscreen display and use numpad + and - to scale FOV

There are many mods you could install to have them, a good one i'd recommend is the Medieval Megapack as it also includes many other weapons
