Thank you! I love being from Tulsa just like Hanson. I'm also a huge Hanson fan. They also have their record label 3CG Records in Tulsa. It's down the street from The Cain's Ballroom. They have a Beer and music festival called Hop Jam every year except for the last 2 years due to the pandemic. Hanson Day, which is May 6th is celebrated every year in Tulsa for fan club members except the last 2 years in public due to the pandemic. It's been virtual these last 2 years. It's also the birthplace of Garth Brooks who I am also a huge fan of. Leon Russell grew up in Tulsa. There are a lot of people from Tulsa. The Outsiders was written, filmed and took place in Tulsa by a Tulsan.
Thank you for this! So helpful to see "boots on the ground" info about a place. What are the surrounding areas like? Sand Springs, Sapulpa, and Broken Arrow, for instance? Tulsa seems to have a different feel from OKC.
Tulsa is more chill in my opinion than okc. I actually don't know much about the surrounding areas. We have visited some of the places around but don't know a ton about it. I would have to ask some of Terrin's family. Alot of them live up there and know the area way better than me
@@flynnmorrow6945 yes, less going on. Less events/things to do. We have way more options than tulsa as far as local restaurants & businesses, housing, events & pop ups around the city.. Also everytime I go up there it's a lot less traffic so driving around is chill in my opinion.
Wow, no traffic or waiting lines. Did the Zombie Apocalypse sneak in and wipe out half the town? Have always loved Tulsa and surrounds, especially during MAYFEST, with music and all. (Hope the advertisers are actually helping to underwrite your work, so we can see more OK adventures.
We prefer Oklahoma city because there are more things to do here. We have a good time when we go to tulsa but things are more spread out and harder to get to in my opinion. I like quick drives and it seems like anywhere I go in tulsa is far from where I'm already at. We have family up there that we stay with sometimes so maybe they're just in a bad location lol 😆
Not as often as people think. We get rotations and warnings for smaller ones throughout the season. Major tornados don't happen very often. I'm 29 and have been through 2 major tornadoes here which was the 2013 moore and may 3 1999 tornado. Those did significant damage here. It's definitely nothing like the movie Twister where they are just dropping out of the sky 😆 I was in tulsa like 2 years ago at an arcade and had to take shelter for a small rotation in the area. We were out in about 25-30 min. I would say the smaller towns around us probably have more than the city actually does.
There are around 1 million people in the tulsa area. People in large cities seem to ask dumb questions like that just like the tornado thing as though they don't happen anywhere else yet occur in many states including California as well as some other countries. A lot of people have jobs or may be at one of many other places around town to go. People in Oklahoma like having room to do things not be crowded or stacked on top of each other. There are plenty of parks in tulsa and lots of places for outdoor activities like road biking, hiking, fishing, camping etc.
@@flyingeagle3750 what are you talking about I don't live in tulsa just making a point. I have been there before it's a nice city that like many others people choose to live in. Their video was to show some of the things in part of the city not find people to show and talk to.
