Filmed on Sunday, December 3 2023, I drive around Tulsa, OK to see what's going on.
Tulsa was still a micro town near the banks of the Arkansas River in 1901 when its first oil well, named Sue Bland No. 1, was established. By 1905, the discovery of the grand Glenn Pool Oil Reserve prompted a rush of entrepreneurs to the area's growing number of oil fields; Tulsa's population swelled to over 140,000 between 1901 and 1930.
Known as the "Oil Capital of the World" for most of the 20th century, the city's success in the energy industry prompted construction booms in the popular Art Deco style of the time. Profits from the oil industry continued through the Great Depression, helping the city's economy fare better than most in the United States during the 1930s.
In 1925, Tulsa businessman Cyrus Avery, known as the "Father of Route 66," began his campaign to create a road linking Chicago to Los Angeles by establishing the U.S. Highway 66 Association in Tulsa, earning the city the nickname the "Birthplace of Route 66".

I actually didn’t miss that the problem was the sun went down so I ended up cutting the last half of the video because my camera settings weren’t set properly for night time

What’s funny to me is that Oklahoma City is EXACTLY the same. Downtown is considerably larger than Tulsa’s, but there’s hardly anybody out and about at any given point in the day. I guess people just mainly go there to work and then go home!
