Incredible band, they have gone through the decades, and just got better and better. Total respect to a band that has stood the test of time. I salute you. 🙏 ✊👏👏👏👏
I've been a big fan since 1984. Their sound is so complex and precise and then there is Morten Harket. At 56 still singing as well if not better than ever . There are no superlatives sufficient enough for them .
Is weird that I'm 47 and am just now discovering this band? I remember them from when I was a kid, and I remember I liked "Take on me", but... I've never heard anything else ever, so I kinda thought A-ha was just a one-hit wonder. Turns out "Scoundrel Days" and "The Sun Always Shines on TV" are even better songs, and I find myself listening to them over and over. "Take on me" never had that effect on me. One could say it never "took" on me. LOL. Also can't help but respecting the band when you hear them nearly 40 years later, and they have grown and evolved as musicians, and now they sound even better than before. For example, I prefer these live version of Scoundrel Days and Sun Always Shines to the recorded versions.
After the greatest song of a decade, they somehow spent the next two getting better. They sound better live than they did 30 years ago. They also have one of the best unplugged performances, ridiculous amount of talent in those guys.
A-ha is the best. All the tracks are: 01. Scoundrel Days; 02. The Sun Always Shines On TV; 03. Stay On These Roads; 04. Sycamore Leaves; 05. Take On Me (Remix with Kygo).
I still remember myself when I was a child, reading the lirycs of their songs, wondering to grow up just to study english and discover the meaning of their songs... here I am A-ha, still enjoing your songs and being in love as the first day 😍😍😍😍😍
Quelle merveille, je re découvre le groupe. Quel son poignant et quelle voix émouvante ! Les souvenirs remontent, ainsi que les larmes. Merci infiniment 💗🇨🇵
Will forever love ya A-ha! I've been listening to you since I was fetus and I will keep listening till I leave this world! You guys deserve everything!
How many male singers still possess a 5 octave range aged 63 years (Axl Rose is 61 years 🙂) How many globally recognised male singers have a 5 octave range at any age 🤷🏻♂️. Addendum: For all the grammar police out there, my post was/is rhetorical.
I guess healthy lifestyle, no drinking or smoking paid off. They had people around them making sure no one pushed drugs on them in their hayday. Morten looks like he's been preserved this whole time. Love this band.
Still going strong after 30 years, so amazing :) And a fantastic version of "Take on me", we all get older and times changes, AHA understood that in 2015, thumbs up!!
Let's not forget the background arrangements. It's magic that happens only when different talent comes together and makes something. :) (Sorry I had to use Google Translate)
We are getting old, but I am happy with the fact that I can still see A-ha and enjoy their music. I searched for their cd that I used to listen to about 30 years ago and found it. It reminds me when I was young and first saw their music videos. Thanks for sharing this video.
I also agree with you. I will be 49 near Christmas. I have been a fan of A-ha most of my life. I have most of their albums downloaded on my mobile phone. I originally ripped the Cds onto my laptop and converted them to mp3. So I play them often. Stay on these roads is one of my favourites by them, but I like all of their music.
I heard them once back in 84-5? When they appeared on an awards show. Then lost them fir years. Just recently discovered them on you tube and their appearances all around the world. Simply amazing and they have all aged beautifully and Morton has retained his great voice. Wish they would come to US, but until I will enjoy everyday on you tube. God bless them all.
Considering the band had not played together for a number of years, they were asked to rejoin for this concert, they sound AMAZING. Morten's voice is outstanding. Featuring Kygo was a brilliant move, he too is amazingly talented. What a phenomenal concert. The stage could maybe be a bit bigger though 😉😘❤️
From seeing them live for the first time in 1988 to now my life has changed so much....many family and friends have gone and the worlds changed too but growing up with these fantastic guys have got me through bad and good times.....always one of your very first fans....thanks for the memories .....hopefully see you again really soon guys.....god bless A_HA XXX
I still Love them. It was a heart breaking experience when the band split. They were one of the Best Band's I ever heard. Not to ever be replaced. I wish they would go on another tour. 😊
1989 Brasil ...🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
I have only recently rediscovered this awesome band in the last couple of months and let me say I feel like I really missed out all these years. I am in the US and they disappeared back in the late 80's and I thought they were long gone. I heard The Sun Always Shines on TV on the radio a couple of months ago and it inspired me to come on you tube looking for some of their awesome music that I remembered. Needless to say I was surprised to start seeing all these other songs/videos from more recently. I was nervous to click on them because I didn't know what I would find but this show was the first of the "New" ones I saw. Wow, I couldn't believe how good they all looked and sounded after all these years. This is a really a great performance for Morten, and wow he really aged well, they all have, And the voice is just as awesome as I remembered from back in the day.
Oh no. Enjoy them as much as you can. I've admired Morten's voice since Take on me was released in 1985. I never was a hardcore fan, not being so much into all that synth stuff, but they were always around and I appreciated them all those year. And this year I discovered more songs and learned how versatile they are.
Danielle Dredger I’m glad you’ve rediscovered what we here in the U.K. always knew, that they are brilliant. Unfortunately in your country they are only known for Take on Me and the general public class them as one hit wonders. That is the fault of the U.S. Music Industry, bu perhaps you can try to encourage as many of your countrymen and women to listen to their vast back catalogue of great music. I’m sure even less well known in U.S. is the fact that Morten has his own brilliant solo career. Keep listening!
Marjorie McBride- Oh I wish the US Music industry would recognize them again, they really are so awesome. So much more talented and versatile than most of what's available here now. I have been enjoying seeing all of the pics and videos from the Electric Summer tour, I really hope they come to the US someday. There has been talk that they will sometime soon but who knows... I LOVE Morten's solo music, too. I have (as of yesterday) all of his English Language Solo albums and They are some of the best albums I have ever bought or heard. I actually REALLY REALLY want to get one of his Norwegian ones, too (Vogts Villa), but it is so hard to find. I have heard it on RU-vid and it is so beautiful even though I don't understand a word.
BTW, it's not entirely synth, in fact, their live stuff is commonly rather guitar driven and it really suits their music's mood better than synth-driven approach..they are truly of many talents....
dude, you dashing madly, so much scribbling and all the inappropriateness, it's no wonder that for a five-year period five years they write shortness-the nurse of talent, everything is much simpler than the A-na group, unique in that, like you, you will not find the voices of the nightingale (Morten Harket) in the morning , not in the night, and therefore we eat popcorn and enjoy the incomparable timbre of her frontman
Noooooooooossa!
I'm writing a "recent" comment as a 2019 landmark to prove they are not forgotten and will never be! Soon the HHaL tour will start, I can't wait to see them on stage! Thank you for posting. We love you A-Ha!
QUE LINDO!!!! NÃO TINHA OUVIDO AINDA NESSA VERSÃO. QUE BÁRBARO !!! FOI A PRIMEIRA MÚSICA DELES QUE EU OUVI E DAÍ ENTÃO FIQUEI APAIXONADA PRA SEMPRE POR ELES. QUERO MORRER OUVINDO ELES.
