I live in Galena. This was my first year being single, so I got my very own PFD for the first time! I just spent the year fighting endometrial cancer and won!...(so far) I paid some bills and bought myself a new winter coat! Proud of myself! Love watching your videos. I love your videos. Please pray for my family. My husband’s Mom passed away last night in her sleep. I’m thankful for her peaceful passing but he is taking it hard. Thank you for the video to help me pass the time.

This is the most "Real" video I think I've ever seen you two make together. The bottle, lava cakes in the sink, the pretzel stuck to the sock, who has "jobs". This is real life, I love it! I personally would just use that money for my family on bills, with 4 kids everything adds up quickly.

If I had a PFD I would use it to help buy a car to replace my 2003 Toyota with 230K miles on it. As a senior I need a reliable car for medical appts so I pray everyday that she just keeps on starting for me. I am thankful that at 73 yrs that I am still healthy enough to drive and stay mobile.

If I had PFD I would use it to get a stable place to live. Housing costs have doubled here. I had to move out of my home of 11 years a few months ago because my landlord doubled my rent. Hoping and praying for a place to call home soon.

15:14 I heard a guy say that he stopped “helping” his wife. His mindset was he will “help” with the dishes, “help with the laundry, “help” with the kids. When he started looking at like he was “doing it because it needs done” instead of “helping” her it no longer felt like a chore. He didn’t need to take her lead. He could just look around and see what needs to be done. She has already shown him what things need tackled on a daily. So if you see a mess or the kids need to be managed you just do it. Because you are a team 🤝.

My mom could use your prayers as her sister passed away this afternoon. They were estranged (not by my mom's choice) plus this was the last member of my mom's immediate birth family. My aunt was a difficult woman on her best days so my feelings are complicated. She was horrible to my mom who loved her big sister unconditionally despite the animosity and drama. My heart is broken for my mom who longed for but was denied reconciliation. Praying for peace for my mom and my cousins.

We have a deal that whoever cooks the meals does not wash up. Another is whoever hangs out the washing does not take it off the line or fold it up. Chores around the house is a family thing not just for the Mum. My Dad used to say if a job is worth doing it’s worth doing well. Love you all ❤️

I wouldn't say " It's a hard year" if you can afford 2 snowmobiles. Plus getting pfd's for all your family, is a blessing!!.. Your titles are so deceiving.

"hard" doesn't always have to be about money -- me thinks they are referencing that the snow is already collecting for the year. Titles are not deceiving...they are meant to attract people to watch the video and see what exactly they are talking about... if you have been a follower for a while, you can usually figure them out

Question: Because you have a large family compared to some and because you get the money for each person in your household, if you were on a lower income, would you ever consider using some of the money from the family to pay for the heating instead of saving it for their adult life, or would you still save it. I get money for my son that goes on both him and towards the utility bills and I hate that it gets used for bills, but the way Im trying to look at it is, paying for the utilities helps provide a safe home for my son to live in. Is thst wrong. Sometimes I wonder, but financially, I can't do much else.

My parents used to tell me and my 2 siblings that they have 3 dishwashers...all us kids. 😅 The parents can turn the chores over to the kids, while the parents bring in the money. ❤

I grew up with 5 other siblings in the house. We were the dishwashers. When I graduated and left for college(I was the youngest), my parents bought a dishwasher!!! Good for them!

I think the biggest need for us (in Alabama) is just staples and stocking up. Sam's and Costco for backstock and basic needs are our biggest expenses! I never feel like more of an adult than when I am super excited about stocking the pantry and bathroom closet :)

Alaskan apparel peices are beautiful and well made. I live in PA and I wear the sweatshirts without any coat many times in the winter because they are the perfect thickness and warmth.

I feel your pain mama! Why don't you sit down as a family and split up the chores and rotate them? With three older kids you have a lot of help, and since you are doing home schooling and running a business your kids could pitch in. Vaccuming, dishes, some laundry, folding clothes are all things that the kids could help with. It's so good for kids to have life skills, that they will need to survive on their own.

Why aren't your kids clearing the table/bar of dishes and condiments. One of the girls made lava cakes and left stuff in the sink, the girls are certainly old enough to clean their own mess and put dishes in the dishwasher. Us mom's wonder why we are tried all the time, ran ragged and "have things festering under the surface". You heard of let go and let God, mom let go and let someone else. So, it's not perfect, were you perfect the first time you did something. Let go mom! Elsa our little snow mommy, Let it go!

We let our kids spend $100.00 out of their PFD's the rest went into their savings acct fo college. One thing it did though is bump us into another tax bracket, fed of course.

We are getting fuel for our generators delivered in a couple of days (we're off grid), so PFD is going to the fuel company..our snow is melting right now, but we're south of the Alaska Range.

IF my state did pfd, I would pay for heat. Winter is cold in MN, have an old house and not a good heat system. Have fun with the snowmobiles! One year we needed to use ours to get to the grocery store due to a winterstrom. Fond memory.

Very soon everyone will see a big change in USA. We won’t be struggling so bad. I know things are hard right now but if we just stay strong for a while longer we will see the light at the end of the tunnel. My grandmother told me that it is darkest just before dawn. I don’t know how dark it has to get before dawn I have a feeling it will get a little darker. But if we can hang on be strong and trust in God ,we will truly see his goodness for America.

Maybe you could take a refrigerator and a small rack to your church and use the take if needed or leave some groceries for others method over the winter months. You don't have to pack the shelves yourself, maybe some bologna & cheese, bread loaf on the shelf to start it or a gallon of milk or bag of oranges removed from the bag. People will use it. And maybe a cake or box of teabags. Hot chocolate powder packets put in a tiny basket all loose. I'd take a tea bag flavored something I didn't have but like to try. Its gonna take a village to get through this mess. A church is a village. You never know who needs what. Its easy to start and its fun to see your all doing good works.

We live in NY but if we did get the PFD .. this year we would spend it on new tires for our truck, heating fuel and stock up groceries.. LOL there is 3 of us so I think I've over spent already!!

When it drops below a certain temperature for afew consecutive days the Elderly in our community get a cold weather payment. To help with heating electricity and Gas central heating. You have to be over a certain age to get that.. hypothermia is real even over here in England

Wasilla alaska here! PFD this year is going to all snow gear, boots, jackets, snow pants. 5 boys only 3 of them live home now. Heating oil and anything else to hold us through the winter. Sending hellos from our family to yours. Tschandra

I appreciate not wanting the kids to not work for money. Life certainly isn't easy. But there are small ways to help. One of my friends recently told me about how his parents added him to their credit card when he was a teen. But then didn't give him one. They just kept using it and paying the bill on time and then, when he was 18, he actually had good credit. I think that's genius!

If I had a $1300 influx of money, I would use it for a mobility scooter carrier for my car. I’m disabled, I purchased a mobility scooter last year but I’m unable to transport it to use at a Dr's appointment or grocery store which is about the only places that I HAVE to go as I live alone and haven’t any other way to get around. I drive a car but have a hard time walking or standing.

Reminds me of UK in early '70s. Oil Crisis, Decimilisation - prep for going into the then EEC, we lost the value of our money! Inflation then and now was scarey!
