Moon jumper was originally going to be the prince - If you look at his clothes, they're practically the same as the princes - but he was was eventually cut due to snatcher snatching his role in the plot.

Personally I don't like the idea of Hat Adult, it kinda damages the cutesy innocent yet mischievous and childish nature of Hat Kid. The cut world was removed because it felt too empty and boring, the vehicle simply made it far too flat and drew away from the core of the game. Itjust didn't work out. I would have liked to see Tim, and I think the sandworm shopkeeper would have been cool, but not too hard. The time mechanics, while neat, seem to have been removed for the better. The Mustache Girl part would have been neat though. 3rd floor no disagreements really wish they had managed to rework it in time.

You mean Beta Hero and Wet Mushroom Heaven? Those were reconstructed in mods, which ARE supported by the game, so...

I haven't played either the alpha or beta builds, but as far as I could tell from footage from these builds, the Mafia ties didn't really do much. In fact, many of the scrapped collectables didn't really do much or were reworked to a form that's more practical for the final game. After all, the developers didn't want to commit the same mistakes as Donkey Kong 64 (have so many different types of collectables to the point of being annoying). The rockets didn't seem to be much fun imo, and the penguins' purpose was changed for the Battle of the Birds chapter. Also, the lead developer scrapped so many character because with time his philosophy as a game developer changed; at first, he wanted to introduce as many characters as possible, but then he realized it'd be better to focus on fewer, better fleshed out characters. Honestly, one of the main reasons why I loved AHIT so much is because of the quirky writting, and if I could trade that for more characters who don't really have too much going on for them (like Thor, who never really did much throughout any of the different stages of development, or the Mafia rapper who is just plain stupid), I'd keep the game in its current form instead, including Mafia Town. The steam robots looked cool though.

If they do a sequel, than maybe this good ideas were just scrapped from this game to be used in a sequel. Or maybe a Dlc or update that will add all of this, and maybe more.

Npt to mention how small a role it plays in a game titled "A Hat in TIME".

I think the creator specified why so many of these things are scrapped, it's because playtesters wanted more gameplay than plot. So they streamlined things, kind of a bummer... except I don't really like Sand and Sails, the old Mafia Town music, Tim, Tim's friend, or Timmy (the old coop partner) much lmao. The lack of a Hat Adult and that potential-laden ending scene and Subcon turf war (Moon vs Snatcher vs Vaness) is a shame though.

Dj grooves is what makes me wish hat kid got into smash somehow, because that would spark so much stuff between king triple d and dj grooves. Like fan art, comics, and maybe an actual joke about it in the game. Unfortunately if giant indie game characters like sans and shovel knight failed becoming characters, no doubt she will too, maybe not though.
