Hi Becky...just a tip, which you may already know, and it is about peeling your garlic. If you cut the root end and just the tips of the other end of your bulb and then separate the cloves, you can easily peel them by placing the cloves in a bowl with hot water. You leave them for about 5 minutes. Girl...those skins come off in a blink of the eye. I tried it and it works beautifully. Good luck ❤

I understand that there are heaps of rude people on here but please do not fall in the trap of having to reason with them by over explaining everything. This video and the last have come across like you are trying to justify your wants. Ignore them! If you want a carbonated drink, have one. If you don’t want seasonal decor, don’t get it. Just do not pander to the minority of unhappy people because all of us normal people on here love you for you.

Hello Becky. A video of yours showed up in my feed the other day. I am very grateful it did. I have to say thank you for making these videos. I’ve been in a very depressed state since I lost my last living family member a few years ago. Watching your videos is making me get some motivation to get out of the hole I’ve dug myself into. Watching you do your daily chores is getting me motivated to plan out my tiny garden that I want to build. ( I had one built in my rental). I own a home now, and I’ve been neglecting all the outside of it, but I’ve always wanted to grow strawberries for jam. Becky, you have a very friendly and welcoming face, and for me you are very motivating. I am enjoying your videos, and I have many more to watch. Anyways, thanks for giving me some motivation!

Mlee, I’m so sorry for your loss and associated depression. Becky is a great cheerful channel, but PLEASE have some face to face interaction, even if just a brief conversation with a waitress or store clerk. But, if you haven’t sought out medical help, ask your doctor for a low dose of Prozac AND a rec for a licensed counselor or psychologist. I’ve dealt with clinical depression for all my adult life even with a strong faith and believe medicine is a Gift from God. Prayers & blessings. One step at a time.

Liquid dishwasher detergent (cascade) will get the stains out of your moms tablecloth. If that doesnt, make a paste from dreft. Works like magic on food stains. A red tablecloth is also a great investment, because its good for 4th of July, Christmas, and Valentine's.

Some things I have done to help protect my antique wooden table from stains (usually by the young children) is I placed a thick plastic sheet, cut to the dimensions of the table, under the tablecloth. Spills will puddle and not soak into the wood. As it's under the tablecloth, it is not seen. I was gifted a very large eggshell white tablecloth that hangs down on all sides. I will cover this tablecloth with a seasonal one or for a fun event like a birthday or children's Christmas I'll put a slightly smaller one on top of the pretty white one, much like you use a table runner but it stays on for the meal. It has saved the larger one from many kinds of stains, and are easier to clean. I understand that you don't want to have to store multiple items but they fold up thin and store in the china cabinet along with platters and napkin rings and other things that I only pull out for a party.

For that Mexican street corn salad kit, I always add some extra Romain, some frozen, thawed, corn, a can of black beans, and tomato and avocado if I have it. It really bulks up the salad and makes it more of an entrée salad.

Agreed, we use onions alot too and 120 pounds of onion is only 10 pounds of onions per month. Some people act like it's alot or something, but it's not. Just a pot of beans and a pan of fried potatoes and onions will be two big onions minimum.

Becky, you’re going to need taller boots for chores in the winter. Those seem sweet for a leisurely stroll on a manicured path but for actual work in the snow, you need taller boots. Those are going to let your feet get wet so quickly because the snow is going to get into the top.

Ohmygosh I love those fleece lined snow boots! I’m in SoCal and believe it or not, it snowed here for one day last year lol. But has been getting pretty cold at night already (yes, we consider 55° cold lol). I’m so going to Costco to see if my Costco has them. Sam’s might have similar ones too. I normally use regular rain boots in fun patterns to work in my garden out back, but I can’t wear those while I’m out and about. I wish we had places like you do here in SoCal, for produce and meat. We have to drive many hours away for them.

I went a little insane a week after infusions were mentioned. Made some DELICIOUS ones using the video you and your sis made way back. SO GOOD. The only ones I didn’t use the instant pot for were the limoncello. Then I had too much for one elderly lady, so my street is having rolling “Infusion” parties. I’ve gotten great ideas from neighbors I just introduced myself to and asked to join in the first one, great ice breaker and now I’m acquainted with all my neighbors on our short block.🎉 let the holiday of good cheer commence!

You can put salad in a large mason jar and vacuum seal the lid to make it last longer. I learned about it from someone here on RU-vid. I've done it and it works very well to keep your salad fresh longer. Also putting a paper towel in the bottom of the jar helps as well.

I just cooked down three big chickens I raised and butchered last year. The meat as soon as its tender comes off and gets shredded, then I add taco seasoning and quesadilla seasoning on some and then froze That way it's ready to go. I then put bones back in and make broth, I should get about 18 qts out of these 3 10+pound chickens. Love your channel.

Becky, if you have an Asian market anywhere close, you probably could find fresher rice at a similar or better price than Costco. I am in Texas and in the Dallas Fort Worth area we have a lot of Asian markets. If you look at the crop year on the rice at Costco it is usually last year at least in D-FW that is the case. The rice at the markets are always this years crop and the price is usually a little if not a lot better than even Costco. We love jasmine rice and use it exclusively but they have the sticky rice as well. I can't even begin to describe how good a bag of this years jasmine rice smells when it is opened.

Hey Becky, why don't you do a Walmart haul? Most of the folks I know are NOT finding deals at Target: as a matter of fact, their food is overpriced. And so is their clothing and housewares and toys. If they looked designer in the past, they definitely do not now. Frankly, Target hasn't done it for me for the last 10 years. I'm making my money stretch at other places. In this inflation, aka depression, my loyalty is to my family and wallet.

My daughter was very ill & could only keep down chicken broth. I purchased chicken backs & learned to make bone broth. She like it best if I roasted the bones first. She was 5 weeks on a broth diet & never lost weight.

I just made a shaved Brussel sprout salad with a warm maple, bacon dressing. I threw in dried fruit and toasted walnuts with additional fall vegetables. It was a huge success. Easy to make ingredients to suit your personal tastes.

You can trim your mom’s back after they have bloomed for next year! They should bloom again sometime I think spring or summer I can’t remember which. But try that. Last night we went to Lowe’s here in Savannah Georgia and they had the moms half price. However, they’re not the huge ones that you got at Costco. They were only two dollars so I bought two of them. That’s what I did last year and my mom’s are huge now from last year. So I expect these to get big for next year!

You should try your own yogurt. It’s so easy and inexpensive in your instant pot. I make my own with whole milk, strain it, and give the whey to my chickens.

If you use 1 pint of broth per week.. which is a reasonable number for a person that cooks for 4 people (or two meals each), you will need 52 pints! That is a lot of jars and a lot of storage.

Oh yes made your vanilla extract and kombucha. I love grape kombucha and have replicated it. Jar of juice from Winco and instead of 4+ $ per bottle I get 1 gallon for 50 cents or so, thank you

Trash bag coat is absolutely hilarious. I’m going to say that to my daughter over hers. She won’t mind either. She is all about comfort, especially when working in the barn.

I’ve got the hosting down. I deep clean the house two weeks ahead and spot clean as I go. I prep things that can be frozen before the deep clean and then days before I prep for the pit party as I can. We have a cooking pit in the middle of our raised bed garden for cooking meats. We have a pit party the day before thanksgiving and our friends and family either cook turkeys or meats of choice in the pit. Then I turn around and serve up thanksgiving pretty early because the meat has been cooking in the pit all night. I prep the sides the day before pit party and heat them up on thanksgiving day. It’s a two day event but we manage to pull it off well when we don’t stay up to late.

I love to have my dining table dressed with seasonal items but I also like to fill my table with serving dishes of food. When it is dressed I find that the serving dishes get cramped so I only put one centre decor piece on my dining table and make it really dressed with the tableware, placemats, charger, glasses and silverware. I just love a well dressed table.

I have tried to be more festive this past year but also sustainable. I agree on wanting things not to scream one single holiday and just being transitional. An example would be pillow cases that you can switch out to feel more cozy. Right now, I’m still deciding between getting doormats for each season or not, like a blue and white snowflake one for December-January which are the only months that Portland really gets snow, grass and flowers theme for February-May, a red theme (or a cute semi-circle watermelon one) for June-August, and an orange leaf/pumpkin theme for September-November. I generally like decorative things that don’t have text so you fully appreciate the design.

I believe you’ll be headed back to Target for a longer tablecloth, 60x102 will likely fit better.
