Hi Kaz, don't be surprised when someone pay for you in Muslim surrounding. Enjoy it !!! They are practicing what was taught by Prophet Muhammad. A man asked the Prophet, “What Islamic traits are the best?” The Prophet said, ”Feed the people, and greet those whom you know and those whom you do not know”’ We believe if you make things easy for people, the Allah (God) will make things easy for you.

Hye Kaz. Satay is one of my favourite food. I can eat it everyday with that sticky rice/ketupat and dip it in peanut sauce. Oufff~ it so yummilicious. I'm so glad and proud to born here cause I was surrounded with such a RICH FLAVOURS OF CUISINES, CULTURES and INDEED MALAYSIAN HOSPITALITY. I do agree with you, this kind of hospitality is not only happening just because that person is a RU-vidr but that's really happened to me from someone that I didn't know whom happen to dine in the same place as I am. Sometimes when I go buy some groceries in the Market some shop owner will give me extra vegs or fruits as a beautiful gesture. It may not always but it does happen. THANK YOU SO MUCH FELLOW MALAYSIAN for this beautiful Acts Of Kindness. You may not know that lil' Acts Of Kindness can really bring such Impacts to a person especially if that person happen to be in some difficulties that we may not know. KEEP IT UP THIS BEAUTIFUL SPIRIT OF KINDNESS. WELL DONE KAZ! 👏🏼🇲🇾👍🏻 for the record: You make me crave for satay 🤣🤭🤣 but it's midnight now. I'll get it soon surely... Pronounce Malay KL: If all the ends of the sentence are letter A but the pronunciation is different. Tatoeba (five = lima) we says ~li-mer, (car = kereta) we say ~ke-re-ter, (how are you = apa khabar) we says ~a-per khabar. So each word when the end of the letter is A is called ~er but there may be a certain word that reads ~ar behind. If you want more convenient, open UK translate on safari and convert to japanese-malay. There will be a pronunciation for the Malay language there. I'm not sure you'll see this comment or not but hope this will help even a little

Malaysian is usually very kind in term of helping other people. Usually when someone needs food. If someone is very hungry, have no money and they need food, they can just post about it in social media. Or even if the homeless or beggars are hungry, what they can do, they can just ask for food from random people. Not common, but many will give donations. Basically, you won't die hungry in Malaysia.

Usually when you want to share with others, just let the satey on the plate and just offer to them to eat together without separating the meat from the bamboo stick. People here in Malaysia both muslims and non-muslims they usually practice to give/share with others by paying/give something for them. There are also Indonesian style satey here in Malaysia they called it Satay Madura. The difference is that Satay Madura is not marinated...they just simply dip they raw satay meat and grill it. If you feel like want to try some, i suggest you to go here Warung Sate Bu Leha and here Sate Barokah (Ibu Nur).

'sudah' means you already completed or finish doing an action.. For example sudah makan.. Makan is the action and sudah shows that you already makan.. In your case the lady said sudah/dah bayar which means already paid.. 'Dah' is shortform for 'sudah' .. Normally people will ask you 'dah makan?' then you can answer 'dah' or 'sudah'

Fyi sudah (already / done) bayar (paid). The satay around KL are huge. It gets small in JB and even smaller in Singapore. Inflation.

Yes .. last month I had a breakfast..and some one pay for me .. And 2 years ago, before pendemic ..a Chinese family paid for me a laundry tokens (Dobby) But this culture, what I know is pretty common in Malaysia society ... Especially towards, among a friends.. family.. and also to the stranger.. Especially from richer person and generous ...eh idk if I said this right... cause I'm not good in English.

Luckily i come prepared..eating pisang goreng while watching your satay review.. btw.. kaz you looks glowing 😂 i always eat my satay/sate with a bowl of rice.. not that nasi impit(i only eat nasi impit in 2 condition only..with lontong or soto)..but just plain white rice. if i'm eating out, i will buy the plain rice from other stall. if not getting it, i rather tapau (take away) and eat at home. it's just my weird habit, other people will eat nasi impit with peanut sauce and sate altogether.
