A very quick visit to Dads and a great opportunity to test out tour new Rode Go 11 wireless.microphones .rode.com/en/mi.... We got some feedback that the sound quality on our videos isn't the best especially when outside or when filming with the 360 camera so here goes with the microphone testing lots of very positive recommendations for the Rode wireless mics .
We hiked up to the Nine Standard Rigg above Hartley quarry . Height 662M . We used all trails for a route .www.alltrails.com. There are nine large beacons ( approx 800 years old ) at the summit .No one is quite sure of their origin - a stone army to deter the Scots or less exciting boundary markers. This is part of the coast to coast walk . It was great to test out the microphones in such windy conditions and as you can see/hear it definitely helped with noise reduction .
It does take a bit of effort to set the microphones up if using with the 360 flow gimble but worth the effort .
!00m further up is a viewing point erected by the Kirkby Stephen fell rescue team in 1981. Dad was a keen member of this team in his younger days . ksmrt.org.uk. One to note the path on the route back down was very difficult to find and very boggy.
We had lunch at the Bay horse Inn in Winton a really lovely village pub thebayhorsewint.... I can recommend the beetroot and goats cheese starter if you are looking for a lite bite .
That evening we visited the La'l Nook a small pub in Kirkby Stephen and Dads favourite pub. If you are visiting Kirkby Stephen you must pop in. And the name indicates it's a very small pub with great craft beers but also friendly chat and welcoming faces. link to their fave book page
